Default Tasks won't die?

Hi all. I recently got an Optimus Elite through Virgin Mobile after deciding to kick my old Samsung Intercept to the curb. So far I love it. I get a reliable 3G signal, texts don't randomly fail, and the phone doesn't decide to restart at random. However, I downloaded Advanced Task Manager (sine this phone apparently doesn't have a stock one) and for the past while, I've been noticing that a LOT of tasks seem to be starting themselves. What's worse, killing them doesn't help. They'll just start right back up on their own.Is there any way of fixing this? I'm sure it would help my battery life.

I've noticed the same thing. There doesn't seem to be any quit or exit functions for applications and, as you said, a force quit results in it starting back again.

It would be nice to be able tell the phone what you do and don't want running. If someone knows of a solution, would also be appreciated.

The Elite doesn't come with a task killer, because it doesn't need one. To exit out of an app don't hit home hit the back button until it exits (this works for most but not all apps).

As for apps that are running in the background keep your eye on battery usage, unless they start popping up there you probably don't need to worry.
