Default adobe flash doesn't seem to work

I have Adobe flash 11.1 installed my vm elite. on both stock and opera on websites with embedded flash video I get notice saying please use browser with h.264 or download adobe flash. If I click on link it says on adobes Site that flash is not supported on this device. Anyone know how to get flash working so embedded videos can play? Thank you for your time.
