Remove "Tap the "+" above to customize home screen."

Hello Forum

I just got the LG Optimus G and it's great and all, but I like to have nothing on my home page. The problem with this on the Optimus G is that if you have nothing on your home page the "Tap the "+" above to customize home screen." persists.

So, my question:

Is there any way to remove this?

I took a look around and couldn't figure it out...

However, the one thing about Android is that if you don't like the stock launcher, you can replace it (without even needing to root). I use Nova Prime... The advantage (for me) is that I can now use the same interface on my devices from different manufacturers and make them more consistent.
