I am trying to set up my email account on a GT540 using the email option.

I can enter the email address and password but as soon as I press the next button I get a message which says "Please check the email address again".

The same thing happens whether I use the MS Exchange, O2 Email or Others option.

My email address is xxxxxx@collier-home.me.uk. It works fine on my PC.
Any ideas as it looks like the device does not recognise the address.

I am running Android version 2.1

Are you trying to set this up in the stock mail app? the gmail app will only work with gmail accounts.

Yes I am using the standard Email app to do this. Gmail works normally for yGmail account but I am trying to set up my main email account as well.

You may need to set this account up manually rather than let the app determine server settings on its own.

I finally tried loading the K9 email client from the Andriod Market place to replace the original email client. That gave the option to set up the account manually and it works OK now.
