If the phone runs Android 2.0 (Gingerbread), some apps will allow you to move them to SD card. Go to Apps and select each app in turn to see if the Move to SD card button is enabled.

Hard to say. Chances are an old Nokia will have better battery life as Symbian is still the O/S that is best optimised for mobile having been written for them from the ground up rather than being adapted from Linux (which started life as a desktop/server OS).

You probably want to make sure that things you're not using - like WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth and Sync - are turned off and that the screen is not on full brightness. All of these things can be controlled from the standard Android Power Widget.

Check what your phone requires. No point paying extra for something the phone can't take advantage of.

Depends what you want to do with your phone ..

It is a fact this phone can NOT move any apps to sd card. I wouldn't worry too much, you've got almost 2 GB of internal storage for apps, so you should be able to download many. There are some games that are huge, over 1 GB, you probably won't be able to get them. But those are very rare.

The battery life is excellent when idle...you can only get about 5 hours max of screen on time, depending on what you're doing. If you play with it nonstop, you'll have to charge it after a few hours. This is fairly average for smartphones.

Must have apps are subjective. People love their social networking of course; facebook, twitter, etc. Some popular games are Angry Birds, Temple Run 2, fruit ninja...but these are not for everybody. There are sooo many apps. You just have to figure out what you like. You can browse the top app categories to see whats most popular.

You can use a class 6 sd card just fine. I use a class 4 and it works perfectly. Cant help you on where to buy accessories in India. I'd say amazon.com or ebay. I never use ebay but lots of people do.

1.security (like hiding the files)
2.browser
3.music player
4.video player (to play any kind of files)
5.texting
What are the apps best suited for LG L9 in the above mentioned category?

For hiding files there's a good app called Hide It Pro.

I like chrome browser myself, but Dolphin is very popular.

My personal music player recommendation would be Poweramp. It's like $4 but it's customization options, themes and skins are unequaled. But mainly, its functions are amazing, and it has the best equalizer I've seen.

MX player is probably the best video player out there. It's the easiest to use and has the best functions. It also plays every file type I've ever tried on it.

There's not a whole lot of texting apps that are really good. I use the stock sms app on the phone, but Go SMS, and Handscent are two very popular ones that have a lot of skins and custom themes.

I was worried about battery life too since I am coming for a basic talk and text phone that can go a few days before charging. I do have a car charger but if I am going to be out and about and not near a car charger I bought myself a portable charger.

Someone can explain better but It's a little device you charge on the computer then can keep it on you and if battery on your electronic deivce gets low you plug it in and charge off that. I get 3 charges then I have to recharge it on the computer again.

Mine is called a powerocks portable electronics charger and was like $35 but I am sure there are better and stronger ones than I got but this works for me as my friend has it and let me borrow it and I liked it so ordered my own. Small enough to fit in my purse plus comes with a few different adapter plugs besides mini USB and it came with a car charger too. I use it for this phone and my kindle fire. Mary
