Default Another n00b questions, how to send/submit text - keyboard in the way

I'm having an issue where when I fill out a tweet or a status update, there's no option to hide the keyboard so I can hit "send" or "share", or whatever. For the FAcebook app it seems if I close it, and reopen it I can see the "share" button, but is there no way to hide the keyboard so you can "send" whatever you just typed?

Seems awfully counter intuitive to have the text box cover up the "send" or "submit" buttons all over the place.

the back button closes the screen I'm in, minimizes google or twitter, etc.,

although, I just installed Swift Keyboard and now I have a 'tweet' button at the top that I don't think was there before, so I'm thinking perhaps this new keyboard will help out with the problem.

On the iPhone you're pretty much stuck with their default keyboard, you can change the look, but not the functionality. So this whole idea of installing a new "keyboard" into the phone is new territory for me. Swift if very similar to the iPhone so far, possible better, so I'll probably shell out the $$ for it.
