Default Froyo 2.2.2 or Gingerbread 2.3.4

Hi, if it's a new metro, I understand they now come with Gingerbread 2.3.4. If so you can use an app called Gingerbreak to root the phone. If your Optimus came w/froyo 2.2.2 you will need to downgrade to Eclair which is 2.2.1. LG has a tool called LGNSPT to do this, download from there site. You will need to use a pc. You can google all these subjects further. Look around this site the M, S, T, V and even C models of the MS690 are all similar especially the C model. Also check the XDA developers site for more info. The more you read the more you'll understand and you can never read enough. MAKE sure you understand first. It's almost impossible to brick a phone but zVery Very difficult to recover from a mistake sometimes. Good luck.
