Default SD card not recognized

Hello,

I'm a new user of android phones and i have a problem with my SD card.
My PC does not recognize it, although i connect the phone via USB to my PC.

Can you point me to the right direction, please?

Than you!

When you plug your phone in via USB, are you asked to "Turn on USB storage"? If not, go to Menu>Settings>Applications>Development>and check USB Debugging. A screen should then pop up asking if you want to turn on USB storage.

Also check in the notification bar. If you see the USB icon while it is plugged in, drag down the bar and tap on USB connected. That should also give you the option to turn on the USB storage.

What phone, and what version of Android are you using?

I checked USB Debugging but with no result. When i connect the phone to my PC via USB i get no result.

I'm using LG P500 (Optimus One) with Android 2.2 .
Any other suggestions, please?

Thank you!

@ webbusiness23.. I just bought this phone today & had the same problem. In addition to the above note on turning on usb debugging i also did the below steps & finally got it to work! All my files are now being copied as i am typing this reply...
1. Downloaded & installed the 'LG Mobile phone updater' (though not sure why its called that way)
2. Installed the USB driver --- The app only has US as the option for country & so when you hit to install USB driver you are required to choose by operator & they are obviously all US providers & none of them have this model showing up too! So installed for some model which says PXXX in the name
3. Reconnect the phone - Message in the top line about US debugging mode
4. Pull it down & chose 'Turn on USB mass storage' and you are good to go

at 12 AM on a saturday i have created a new account on this forum & posted just to be able to help you (coz i knw how irritating it would be to not be able to connect on USB), so please do revert if this worked or if you had already figured out the solution.

Later update:

I managed to get it rolling:
Settings --> SD Card & phone storage --> checked Mass storage only

and then it worked.
Thank you for your time and for your help!
