We made the switch over today...just got off the phone with a rep that told us it could take 72 hours for the numbers from our Sprint account to port over...(after the Sprint rep told us it would port over the same day...whatever....)

Anyway...I've been trying to connect to Wifi...once I connect, it changes to disconnected. I've heard of tons of people that can play with their phones via wifi before activation...what am I doing wrong??

Yes, you can use wifi without the phone being activated. I'm assuming you are trying to connect to your home wifi network? What kind of security do you have enabled? Do you have MAC filtering turned on? Quick and dirty test: Go to a McDonalds and try connecting to their wifi. It's open-access so you should be able to connect easily. If that doesn't work, you may have set something wrong or your phone may be defective.

As for porting, I just ported my AT&T number to my V. Took less than 24 hours though the rep told me it would take "up to" 72 hours. The Sprint rep wasn't lying, it usually does happen within a day. But sometimes things get SNAFU. These are big, faceless, bureaucratic telecom corporations, after-all.
