Default Increasing Volume beyond maximum

I have a pair of wired headphones that doesn't have a volume control and the sound is too soft even on the maximum setting. Is there any way to increase the volume beyond what I can do with the button on the right hand side of the phone?

Thanks!

I just bought a Galaxy Player 5.0 which will eventually replace my OV. Compared to the OV, it's volume goes to 30. I can also see the knob!
