Welcome to Android Forums, RMarie26.

I have moved this thread into the LG Optimus V forum, so that the people who know your phone best can post their tips to help.

I recommend that you download an app from the Google Play Store called Airpush Detector. It will identify which apps are pushing that spam to your phone, and give you the option to uninstall them.

I'm guessing you mean the updates to the bloatware (poynt, twydroid etc.). Your best bet will be to root the device and use Titanium Back, Root Uninstaller or the like to uninstall or freeze those apps.
