The search button doesn't work either. Also, whenever I hold down the power button to turn off the phone, I only see the Power Off selection instead of the Power Off and Airplane Mode selections like it used to be. Now if I want to set the phone to Airplane mode I have to go through Settings. This isn't the first time I dropped the phone and it fell apart (clumsy I know), but this is the first time I'm experiencing this and I want to know how to fix it. I tried turning it off and on but nothing changes. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Try going to the menu/settings/privacy. Select factory rest. This will also wipe all user data off the phone so download AppTyrant first and backup all your apps. Then install sd card into PC and backup the contents to it. Once it's done you will need to go back into the Market app(Google PlayStore) and sign into your Google account. Then download the AppTyrant app and install your apps (select the little android Guy to bring up the apk menu).
I make no claim that this will fix your problems or that it won't make things worse.
If you choose to do this, you do so at your own risk.
Before doing this go here: Fool proof ......:D well easy way to get msl from Optimus v
And here: How to get the aaa password off a optimus v
Make sure you write down you AAA, ESN and MIN. Your prl version is 61007. You can find your MEID on a sticker under the battery.
Once you have wrote all these things down, then and only then should you try to factory reset.
