Default Need help! Screen not working need to save data.

My LG-P505 screen went black, it still responds, but I need to recover the sms messages before I send it to get fixed. It this possible? Please help :-(

It took me a while to figure it out, but I was able to solve the problem.
This is what we did;
1. Followed the advice given here
http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/42491/how-to-remote-view-and-control-your-android-phone/
2. I had a second phone (same as the one with the problem, but working properly) and used it to follow the commands with the one that was not working.
3. Made in clear plastic and with a marker, the screens patterns so I could place them on top of the broken phone, so I could touch the right place on the broken screen.
4. You need the original SD card that came with the phone.
5. You need tons of patience.
6. Following the phone that worked, I put the broken phone to make noise and vibrate to touch.
7. Made backup of SMS to gmail. Downloaded app from android market.

Problem solved. YEAH!!
