Default Recalibrating Motion Sensor

In the settings menu under display there is the option to recalibrate the motion sensor. I attempted to do this because the screen doesnt always rotate right away ie. if I want to send a text or enter a webpage address and am holding the phone horizontally the screen doesnt turn until I exit out of the task and retry.

I followed the instructions placing the phone on a flat surface and then selected recalibrate but it would fail everytime. I was wondering if anyone has successfully done this and if anyone has any suggestions about getting the screen to rotate better? By the way I do have auto-rotate enabled on both Launcher Pro Plus as well as the general android settings. Any suggestions are appreciated! Thanks

Possible Fix?:After doing research I came across an app called Smart Rotator. It allows you to select what you want the default layout to be in any of your apps. For example if you always want your browser to open up in landscape mode you can choose that. Seems to work well. Hope this maybe helps someone else.

I have the same problem with the rotate not rotating all the time, in a timely fashion. I'm gonna try Smart Rotator, thanks

Mine will dot his every now and then. I usually just open the notifcation bar and disable auto rotate and re enable it. This usually fixes it. Also you this phone does seem to like to be reboot every so often also, once every week or so.If i go too long with out a reboot it seems like the phone will start to get a little quircky like that.

I've noticed that occassionally too. What I've found is it's generally affected by: the keyboard not transitioning to landscape and using Tapatalk.

I'm running ADW, which has no issues rotating alone, but sometimes when I start a reply in Tapatalk in vertical, but switch to horizontal, the phone doesn't rotate. Closing the app and restarting it usually does the trick, so I don't believe it's the sensors; it's likely the apps and a conflict with sensors.

If you're using an alternate home (or any app for that matter), remember that 99% of the issues you experience are from the apps not jiving with the OS, not the OS itself.

+1 on experiencing this occasionally. I also use ADW Ex, and haven't had a problem with it - but for the life of me, I cannot remember what app or apps I did experience in.

I do recall though that in 2weeks of ownership, I've noticed it maybe 4 times.
