Default New speculation on why the ICS update is taking so long

With the release of the unlocked iPhone 5 on Verizon, I wonder if Verizon has realized with the tethering debacle that by selling a locked LTE capable phone they may also be forced by the FCC and their open access policy re: the 700MHz spectrum to unlock the phones?

Perhaps Verizon is starting to bundle unlock codes in the updates and maybe that was a last minute decision?

We know our phone has some GSM guts in it so perhaps this is what is happening?

Anyone tried to put an AT&T or T-Mobile SIM in this phone just for fun?

I had a deactivated T-Mobile SIM that I put in but I couldn't tell if the phone accepted it or not because it wasn't active.

The GSM radio isnt going to be activated until the ICS update. It was already in the leaked build ready to go.
