I just ordered that one yesterday, so I'll find out next week. I believe Finndo77 has been using it since the summer. If you do a search for extended battery you will find a few posts about it.
When you guys receive yours, can you please do a 'review' on them? I've been holding off from buying this battery for a while because it seems to be a waste but the Spectrum's measly battery life is starting to pale in comparison to other phones.

I've been fine with the $9 Chinese battery, no issues I cannot repeat with the oem battery. Although it is a good 2x mAh the stock one, it is only about 25%-35% longer lasting. On any v6 based Rom, with 8 hours airplane mode at night, and 4g on and connected all day, I was getting 26-32 hours with light-moderate use. 4 hours on heavy duty. Overclocked to 1726 when screen on and battery greater than 40% or anytime plugged in.
Since ICS arrived I have been leaving GPS on all the time, but using the phone less, and is say I am getting 12-18 hours out of the battery.
Now on cm10 I am only using Rom toolbox to manage CPU settings, no other management apps, with only 5 hours in airplane mode at night, I have not really done a good battery test as I use my phone a lot less the last month or so. But I am overclocked all the time and 4g and GPS on all the time.

Thanx Finndo. Greetings from Shadow! I guess I'll go ahead and order a new battery. I guess it's about time, since I've had my Spec for over 4 months. I might even try to root and rom my phone again one of these days (I'm still recovering from the anxiety I experienced when I undertook the endeavor the first time right after the OTA). Anyway, thanks again for the info.

Screen shots of my RTB settings
Also, I use auto brightness with the max set about 35%
Go to system, brightness, automatic levels, check enable, got to edit levels and you will find this (I customized the settings, these are not defaults)
I've been thinking about lowering the settings even more, as I find it still is to bright sometimes and the keys don't need to get much brighter, simply being on is enough.

Rom toolbox, just abbreviated the second time, and cm10 on my phone. I never reinstalled phoneweaver after using cm10 so I never go into airplane mode at night now. I just plug in most days around lunch (in case I head out at night), normally plugged in around 35% battery.
The first screen shots are profiles that tell my phone to change the CPU speed when certain situational conditions are met (such as dropping to 324MHz max while the screen is off, or lowering to 1024 when a specified battery level is reached). All attempt to make the battery last longer when it has less charge left in it.
The second set of numbers are the brightness levels of the display and the three touch buttons (home, menu, and back), on a scale of 0-255. And the brightness level, in lumens as recorded by the phones sensor next to the front camera. I have an understanding of the brightness levels from spending too much time staring at GPS status and toolbox (note that after installing cm10 I lost the brightness display until after disabling auto brightness in settings / display on the phone, then lad GPS status and get a brightness reading, then re enable the display auto brightness and it will continue to work...

I actually bought this battery a couple weeks ago. Combined with a program recommended by tdm called "DS battery saver" (DS = deep sleep) my battery life has doubled. It's pretty awesome actually- I feel confident my phone will last all day no matter what I throw at it.

If you hunt these forums for my posts from May June July and August, you should find a post about this battery, while on v6 based Broken Out (3.0 I think) where I broke 2 days of battery usage with this battery, but I had more apps running to manage my phone and its resources.
Also wanted to note I used airplane mode at night with that battery run I just posted

Flash cm10 if you are not already on it, adjust your settings to match the ones in my screenshot above, and see if your battery usage is as good or better than mine. If it is, or even if close, then the extended cheap battery probably won't help you any.
Also to note the cover that comes with it, is super cheap, I had to request a replacement as my first one warped during shipping (early summer).
When I first got it, I noticed an improvement in battery life from the creepy battery usage I was getting (6-8 hours) up to 10 - 16 hours with moderate and sometimes heavy usage, on broken out v6 based Roms.
Any intensive application with the screen on (and forgetting to turn off 4g or GPS while using said app) kills the extended battery in 3-6 hours. Charge tinge is only 30%-60% longer than OEM.

The spectrum 2 battery may have issues, as stated by LG, I think I quoted a link on another thread back in Sept, the technology used in the spectrum 2 battery is very different, it has a different density, and construction techniques. Providing it with a higher capacity and longer live expectancy in the same size package. This may require different charging technology to properly utilize the battery.
I don't know, but I think of it like trying to play a dual layer DVD in a single layer DVD player. It might play fine, it might play half the movie, or it might just laugh at you. I don't care how many people tell me it works fine for them, I have extremely negative luck, and don't want to be the person who's phone explodes while in my pocket, generating extra space in my pants. I would expect a higher density LI-ion battery to pack a bit more of a punch than traditional models would when they go boom. Search youtube for an example if you have not seen it yet.
Not to mention using a different model battery in your phone would negate your hardware warranty and their liability if something did happen.

Just an update on the Hyperion. I got 13 hours today.... but with 5 hours screen time. That'll due and I'm still breaking it in.
I have to say that I'm interested in the Hyperion but I googled the company and they have a lot of negative press about them false advertising the power ratings of their batteries, including this one right here on AF: BEWARE - Hyperion (other) 3rd party Batteries
That makes me a little tentative

I don't know. I've got great results with those one and the one in mys3(got over9 hours screen time with it). I've had problems with the task cheap ones though batteries though.
My daily phone usage: light screen use; 30-45 min of voice; 40-50 texts; 30-45 min of web browsing; 1hr pandora, 3hrs music from sdcard. Syncing 4 emails on push sync; facebook, facebook messenger, twitter, linkedin, hootsuite all running in background. Wifi, 4g, gps always on. I don't use airplane mode at night or anything like that, and I don't use Juice Defender, DS Battery Saver, or any other battery saving app.
Thoughts:
In short, worth it. My phone life might not be doubled but it is definitely longer. With the stock battery I would unplug it from the charger at 5:30 am and it be dead by 6:30pm. This battery seems to be making it to 10pm (end of the day for me) with 20+% remaining still.
Monday - the battery arrived around 11am and I just threw it in my phone, it came out of the box with 71% charge so I ran it for the day. It made it to the end of the day with around 25% remaining so I left it off the charger for the night... I wanted to completely kill it. Tuesday -at 5:30am it had 4% remaining so I put it on the charger. Unfortunately the day didn't want me to get a proper full charge to start the day so I ended up on and off the charger all day with way above average use. Wednesday - first full day... had above normal usage - 1.5hrs of Nav usage and 2+hrs of voice added to normal use. Battery seemed to drop at normal stock battery rate. By 6:30pm I was under 10%, but I kept it off the charger. I noticed it dropped down to 3% then went back up to 7%... finally died by 9pm, so I put it on the charger for the night. Flashed cm10b6 during charge time. Thursday - second full day...above normal usage again, only mildly tho - 30min of nav added in. Made it to the end of the day with over 30% remaining, so I left it off the charger for the night. Friday - woke up 4:30am and found lots of emails and texts received and a battery at 3%. Put it on the charger til 7:30am to get full charge. Above average use day again - 1.5hrs of wifi tethering, flashed twrp and created a backup, 2hrs of web browsing added to normal. By 11pm I had 20% battery left (remember it came off the charger 2hrs later than normal tho) so I just left it off the charger for the night. Saturday - woke up at 7am, battery dead so its currently on the charger.
Afterthoughts: I thought I would hate the added thickness of the phone but it really doesn't bug me at all. This battery is great, especially for $15. The only thing I can figure (this is "the cup is half empty" thinking) is perhaps they have a crappy quality control system in place, so people will have higher chances of getting a bad battery... but so far I think everyone here that has gotten one likes it.

I sold my spec to a Co worker. She didn't like the extended battery. If anyone wants it I can let it go for 15. It was used for a week and I properly broke it in.
