Question Battery drain since ICS?

Got ICS a few days ago and now battery lasts about 6 hours with very light use. Called Verizon and was told this is a known issue and a "patch" from the vendor would be pushed out in 2 weeks. Anyone else hearing this?

FYI...Verizon denies any involvement with any patches! LOL

The spectrum has always been pretty bad with battery life but the results vary a lot with users. I had ok battery life when the phone was on gingerbread, but in october the ICS ota was released and my battery life became junk and has been pretty bad since. I have been running jelly bean roms since mid december and havent touched ICS since then but my battery life has never been that great since leaving gingerbread.

Of course there are all sorts of things you can do to increase your battery life but my suggestion is just keep a charger handy thankfully I work at home and pretty much leave my phone plugged in.

Best bet is to unlock the boot loader, flash a JB ROM and put on the quattrimus kernel. Average 2%/hr drain on idle and 14hr battery life when I use pretty heavily on a 3800mah battery

Ics in general has better batter life than gb, but once manufacturers start messing with the o's, making their custom roms, you see worse and worse performance. Stock v7 is okay, but the jb roms will give you much better life and performance.
