The spirit's speaker is louder and clearer(not completely clear). It's a very good improvement, at least for me.

Think about it...
As has been noted in this thread, MetroPCS on their Faceplant page HAS verified that you can still get the rebate with a Wirefly purchased phone. (Not with Best Buy or Walmart phones though.)

MetroPCS-Dallas verifies Wirefly purchase good to go for Spirit rebate

I got this phone yesterday from my local Metro PCS store. He said I bought the last one he had. I switched from VM and the Optimus V to Metro mostly because my Optimus V (that was rooted with ICS) stopped getting text messages. I wanted to wait another couple of months but I couldn't be happier with the phone. Good thing because I'm broke now and will spend the next 2 weeks exploring the phone.

I went ahead a bought the case from the Metro store because of how tiny the Spirit felt compared to my Optimus. I didn't think I could wait for one to arrive after an Ebay purchase.

I do have one question: why can't you move apps to the storage card?

Thanks,
patrice,

Because the internal storage is the phone's default SD card. Need root to make the external sd card default

For those that want Apps on SD Card.

There is an App called "Clickfree" which will create backups of Apps, Photos, Contacts etc. to the SD Card .

Looks similar to the stock backup app that comes on the phone.

Interesting... I didn't know Apple uses the IPS displays made by LG, who are the largest suppliers of ips displays.

What is IPS? - Definition

IPS-LCD - What is IPS-LCD - IPS-LCD Definition

LG Display - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I love my Spirit!!!! My only issue is the wifi....my Spirit isn't allowing me to connect to wifi. It detects it all day long but when I input my password, I am not able to click "connect". My wifi is WEP. Does that make a difference?

If I'm comprendeing your maths right, sell the Connect and your Spirit is Free.

I sold my 2 DroidXs to go towards the Spirit.

Be honest with yourself. How big of a screen do you really need. How big a phone is too big to haul around all the time.

My DXs had 4.3" screens and they were as large as I wanted to go phone wise. The Spirit is about my limit in phone size and the screen is P u r r f e c t

IMO, there just isn't enough that's really user critical difference between the two to warrant the price difference between the Spirit and G3

So this just arrived for me. It's everything I expected it to be. Actually, that's a lie. It's lighter than I expected. The only thing I don't like are the two cases I bought for it. One of them is hard rubberized snap-on, which I don't like because it gives the phone an even look due to the openings. The other is the hybrid case with the rubber on the inside and plastic wrap on the outside. I don't even know how to get the plastic back on once the phone is in. The plastic is not flexible and I keep thinking I'm going to break it.

So I've come to the conclusion that this phone might be a little too fast. Everything opens and closes like it's on fast-forward. This is the reason why the Old Style TV screen off animation in the Screen Off and Lock app doesn't work well with it. The screen off animation happens so fast that you can't really see the effect.

I'm not really complaining. Just more of an observation. But I did think about bringing it down to 1.2 or 1.0 ghz with SetCPU to see if it'll change the animation speeds.

The LG Spirit is a mid-end device with a bit of a stronger punch. The device doesn't do bad with a 4.5-inch screen, Android 4.0 and a 1.2 GHz processor. All for $200 after a $70 mail-in rebate (no contract) from Metro PCS. Not a bad deal if you... Read More
