Default Screen protector or no screen protector?

Knowing that this phone has Gorillas glass, should I even get a screen protector for it? Or does the Gorilla glass screen offer enough protection?

Depends on how picky you are. Gorilla glass attempts to be scratch resistant, but you'll find it scratches fairly easily (moreso light scratches). However, with a screen protector, you lose the nice feeling of glass on your fingertips.

It seems redundant, but I run a screen protector over the Gorilla glass.

I always go with a screen protector. I especially like the matte ones. You lose a bit of clarity, but I like that it's pretty much free of smudge and fingerprints and the gliding is smooth.

I usually don't use screen protectors, they drive me nuts.. OCD.. this is my second Phone with gorilla glass and I've never had any scratches. Of Course I don't throw my phone in my pocket liek most people do, I always holster it.

I've been protector-less with my motion for a few months now and I keep my phone in my pocket minus keys and sharp objects and the screen is still perfect.

When I get my Spirit i'll just be keeping the factory cover on as long as it will last then going naked. Corning really has improved this stuff over the years imo my admire was pretty scratched up when I went to sell it but the motion is holding up great and I have no reason to believe the Spirit will be any different.

And, yes I can confirm the "thin one" is the nice one like comes initially on the Motion.

The only other shield I've ever tried was the Invisishield that you have to apply with a solution unlike the preadhesived Metro ones. I am too much of a clutz to put the wet ones one so obviously, I didn't like them.

I DO like the initial Metro one and you Can buy them though they are about $10 (When Metro finally gets them. ) The one on my Motion is into it's 2nd month and looks fine. Just be sure and trim it's "fingernail" (removal tab) so you don't catch it and pull the shield off.

At the moment I wouldn't have a problem buying a couple of them a year for this decent of a phone *with this much glass*.

I believe gorilla glass phones might get scratched when you purposely try to.

Ive always had a screen protector, but I dont know if should bother putting one on my spirit. I had a skinomi one on my lg connect and its alright but the sides are peeling off because of my gel case and it looks weird. I like how my spirit feels and looks without a screen protector.

Rate this Phone:

The LG Spirit is a mid-end device with a bit of a stronger punch. The device doesn't do bad with a 4.5-inch screen, Android 4.0 and a 1.2 GHz processor. All for $200 after a $70 mail-in rebate (no contract) from Metro PCS. Not a bad deal if you... Read More
