This really puts them in danger of this being a hot seller for them, Samsung is officially announcing there US Galaxy S2 phones on August 29th and once a firm release date is set people may decide to wait for the phone. Not to mention Sept 4th is probably dangerous close to the release date for AT&T's Galaxy S2. Should have release this phone, locked them into contracts and laughed about it over dinner....o well LG lol
I preordered from Radio Shack and today I received a courtesy call stating that the Thrill won't be available until September 15th. Needless to say I'm just going to wait for the S2.

I preordered to but haven't received a phone call. So it's September 15tu now? WTF!!!

According to Radio Shack I preordered from, the date is the 15th. I'm going to give them a call and see if they have any information as to why it was delayed again.
Ok I just called Radio Shack and now they have told me that the date is indeed the 4th. Apparently the date was pushed from 8/21 to 9/15 and then back to 9/4. They were given no information as to why it was pushed back again.
Shhhhhh.........if you listen close enough, you can hear the faint sound of money being handed to other phone carriers and makers. (and some crickets chirping in this forum)
Man, this is not "Thrilling" by any means. I better go back to bed. Yawn.......

Not gonna be this weekend I guess. I was just at Target and stopped by the electronics isle and asked the phone sales guy there about the Thrill and if it was going to be released Sunday. He said "no" and that he only has the dummy unit so far. No actual inventory. Makes me think that maybe they are having shipment issues and thus the holdup.

Look what came in the mail in anticipation for tomorrows would of been release. I'm hoping the P990 will fit. Supposible they fit the P990 & 3D P920 which I'd the GX2 and Optimus 3D.

Should we all call our local AT&T stores again tomorrow when they open?
Highly doubt them having them, but since they haven't officially announced that it is going to be pushed to the 4th, it's worth a shot I guess. Maybe they will just be sick enough of hearing from me that they will just give me one early. LOL
I'm beginning to think that these delays have to do with the new rumored release date of 8/28 for the GS2 on AT&T... Why not release the more anticipated/more expensive phone first? I feel like if that date I true, releasing the Thrill first would take buys away from the GS2. If anyone else feels like I do and doesn't want to pay $199-$249 on contract for a phone, a comparable phone can be had for $80 in the Thrill. From my point of view it makes more sense for them to release the GS2 first and see how many impatient people they can get to buy it. I think that's the reason for the delays. Release the cheaper phone after everyone has gone out and bought the GS2 already. Does that make sense to anyone else?

Makes sense but samsung isn't getting my money this time. I'll wait for the 4.5 quad core sammy GS 3
I'll be sticking with the Thrill too, especially if the hardware in the US version of the GS2 is different (not as good) in comparison with the international version, which is also rumored.

If your statement u mentioned above about delays because of GS2 released first is true, can u imagine if the galaxy was pushed back. Another delay for the Thrill?
Not that I would read much into it, but when I was at Target again today, I stopped by the electronics section to do some more questioning. The lady there said that they just got their demo unit the other day, and she expects to see the product come in this weekend for sale (so Sunday or Monday). Not planning on holding my breath, but sure hoping she is right. I can't take any more delays.
I have a friend that works at radioshack who said they got a phone call today (August 25) confirming that Sept 4 they will be selling the LG Thrill. I can imagine AT&T will be announcing it officially by next monday. As much as I want gingerbread I still can't imagine it having it since Lg announced gingerbread for the Optimus 3D will be coming out in October and normally other countries get it first before it comes to america. I can imagine a software update to fix battery life and just a initial shipment issue is what probably caused the delay.

At&t is pushing 2.3 out quickly. Atrix and the inspire both have 2.3. Infuse is scheduled to update if it hasn't been pushed out yet. That's all the new devices. I think if its not coming with 2.3 it'll be out in about a month.
LG has lost me with these delays. I've had my iPhone 3G (3G, not 3GS) for 20 months now... I can wait another two and make a choice between the Nexus Prime and iPhone 5.

Based on the rumored specs the Prime would be my phone of choice between the two. The thing that pulled me towar the Thrill in the first place wasn't the 3D but the fact that it's a solid phone and it's ONLY $80 on contract. That's the only thing that's keeping me even remotely interested in it. I'm a sucker for screen size though (especially after using this little 3.5" screen for so long) and the Prime sounds like it's going to deliver. The Thrill isn't bad though.

If your a sucker for screen size the "holiday" should be releasing in the next few months. But one thing I don't like is a snapdragon processor.
Unfortunately, I think the main reason why I want the Thrill right now is the 3D. I currently have the Atrix, and personally think it's great (Unlocked and customized of course). Has plenty of power and never lags. I think I would keep the Thrill as more of a toy for the 3D capabilities and then have a secondary phone as the powerhouse. I am eyeing up the Prime as well and when that comes out, I'll pawn my Atrix off on my wife.

I want it cause the power and the 3D. Its a device that's different because of that effect plus its a powerhouse. Coming from a Captivate there's so much more to this phone then the captivate. Front facing camera, dual processors, bigger screen, working gps, 3D, camera flash and better built quality. The only thing I'll miss is the super amoled display.
One week boys & girls....lets hope this time it gets released in time.
I left my name and number with the phone sales guy at Target. He says he will call me as soon as they arrive. Here's where I say that I'm hoping that it could be before the launch date.......and he did say I would be the first to get one. They usually get shipments on Mondays I heard.
Yea, probably just getting my hopes up once again. LOL
Funny thing is.......called 4 different stores today (Best Buy, Radio Shack, AT&T, and Target), and none have it yet. Target actually said not until the 8th but will be retailing for $30.
Sadly some stores consider Sams Club and Costco as "Wholesale" club membership stores and not "Local Retail" stores. Its kinda iffy. I havn't personally had any experience with price matching Costco or Sams Club, but good luck never hurts to try.
1. Best Buy® stores will match any other competitor as long as they have a physical location within the store’s local market area, including warehouse, specialty and “club” retailers.
2. The store management determines their local market area. I’ll refer you to the post by Aaron to which you linked for particulars on how that may be determined.
3. Store managers have broad discretion to grant your price match request. As long as it falls within our guidelines, you should not be declined. There are exceptions to the policy which govern whether a price match request can be granted. For example, a price match will not be granted if the competitor is out of stock, the product is clearance or limited quantity, the pricing is based on a bundle offer (i.e. computer, monitor and printer for a single price), the product is not the same model, etc.
4. As has been pointed out, there is an option at checkout if a competitor is not listed.
5. Our store associates and managers in all stores are all obliged to follow the same policies and are not allowed to set their own.

Reason: new info!
Take the LG Optimus 3D, put it on AT&T's network, and what do you have? The LG Thrill 4G. Inside the Thrill 4G is identical to the Optimus 3D... and that's a great thing. With both 3D recording of pictures and videos and the ability to ... Read More
