Default LG logo boot loop after attempted update

Hi guys, I'm new here and I need some help. My Venice is about a month old, rooted and stock ROM. Yesterday I downloaded the USB drivers and the LG Mobile Support Tool to upgrade my phone's firmware from ZV5 to ZV6.

The support tool wouldn't detect my phone even after trying different USB ports and turning on debugging so I restarted my PC and phone. It still didn't detect the phone so I attempted to start it in download mode. From a thread, I held the volume up and down and power buttons. The phone booted normally, not in download mode, so I turned it off, disconnected the cable, pulled the battery, replaced the battery (but NOT the cable - I'm such an idiot) and then tried putting it in download mode again. this time it turned on, flashed the LG logo for about 2-3 seconds, screen goes black, and then displays the LG logo again, repeating infinitely...

I can get it into download mode using volume up and down while plugging in the cable, and the support tool does detect the phone and shows an update is available. but when I try getting the update or using the recovery option, it gets to 40% "Checking the cell phone #" and displays the following error:

Software update is not supported for this model
Did I just kill my phone?

Your phone's bricked too?

I called BOOST, they told me to call LG. Called LG, they want me to send my phone to them so they can reload the software and send it back... it's going to take over a week. Really? It's a month old!

I just ended up buying a new phone and returning the old one... which worked out well because I bought the second one from Amazon and saved $45.

It seems like the LG mobile support program is not compatible with the Venice, and actually bricks it without even performing any actions on it... just trying to update the phone results in a brick, even if it doesn't finish scanning/analyzing the phone. Something hinky is going on here... I wish there was a way to warn folks about using the updater with this model. :/

Well if you go into the settings or whatever and click compatible devices the LG730 is on the list

Well, yeah, it says the Venice is compatible, but can anyone actually verify that they successfully updated their LG730 without bricking it?

I definitely won't be using it again. Sure, it could have been a freak thing or a coincidence, but I don't want to take the chance again.

What did you tell them and what exactly did they say? did you ask about the LG updater?

Just tried again because the software is not even recognizing the phone plugged in, I decided to try online chat and they did not mention that it was not compatible but also wasnt able to really help either, some strange things came across the top and when I touched the screen it was like I was using the quick memo pen but it was definitely something wrong, I thanked them and factory reset my phone after two reboots didnt help...I am going to leave the update alone too...something is not right

Is it stuck in a boot loop? Or is the phone acting up? In either case, something is definitely amiss with the LG updater and the Venice. Not good...

It was messing up until I did a factory reset and then I unrooted...something is definitely amiss with that tool...I am not going to mess with it again, guess I'll be stuck with the current software. I talked to Boost yesterday about another issue and asked them about it and they referred me to LG...after the mishap, LG referred me to Boost so that was zero help...but the rep at LG did try to get it working, maybe they didnt know that like what someone else said this phone is incompatible
