Default Is there a way to wake up the screen when receiving a text?

I am new to Android and I love this phone, but I can't figure out a way to get the screen to wake up when I receive a text.

I hope this is possible as that would be ideal for me as many times I miss the message alert sound.

Thanks!

p.s. I know the notification light pulses after a missed text, but I would love the screen to wake up for a second when I receiving a text.

The closest thing to what you are talking about that I have used, which is pretty nice is Dynamic Notifications.

It works a lot like Motorola's Active Display.

P.S. Welcome to the forums!

no better option than "nils" imo. i will say i used to use Dynamic notifications, paid for the pro version and the updates in the middle of the night started to annoy me. it annoyed my wife more as shes a lighter sleeper. now i dont use anything. even got rid of nils b/c of the same issue. but nils is my bet. Trust me, it'll wake your phone up.
