LiQuID FroZeN YoGurT v1.4 (FRG22 Custom ROM Built From Source!!!) *Updated Patch - OTA Update Fix*
***Important Update***
This patch installs the stock keyboard back into place in your system/app directory overwriting the Droid 2 keyboard. The D2 keyboard is being removed because of the "alt lock" physical keyboard issue. If you decided you want to keep the D2 keyboard you can download it from XDA Here. This update should also prevent the Froyo OTA Update that everyone will probably be receiving very shortly if you haven't already. This will also allow you to see Adobe Flash Player once it becomes available in the market in the next couple of days. Let me know if you have any issues with this patch but all should be well once you apply and thanks again to all of you for using our ROM it means the world to us and enjoy the one and only LFY

Initial Setup: Ah, a new boot animation. I take it that's the Droid 2 ani, as stealing other Droid's boot anis and changing the colors seem to be the thing to do . I personally liked the Droid Does into the Droid X, but that's not really relevant. It beats the stock animation. Like usual, it didn't take but maybe a minute to load. Then I was surprised when my password was incorrect. Yeah. That was the Droid 2 keyboard, and issue already fixed by Liquid w/ the LFY1.41 patch. Market synced within 30 minutes (probably less, but I sat the phone down for about a half hour before I remembered I usually time that...sue me).
Appearance: I've tried Blueberry and Smoked in the past, so I wanted to try two I never have, the Tangerine and Watermark'd. Very nice look with both of these. If you're a fan of orange, you'll love Tangerine. Also, it gave me an excuse to use the Prodigal Sun skin for Weather Widget Donate, finally. Then, there's Watermark'd, and I fell in love with the 3D app icons. Both offer themed pull down notification bars, lock screens, the works. Just about everything appeared to theme with just some small issues.
The issues I noticed were mostly with Watermark'd. If you change your LauncherPro icons, not every single icon has been themed. It's usually not an issue as the default app icon usually is, as is the case w/ the Market, Maps, Navigation, and Calendar. However, the Google Voice icon has been changed in the LauncherPro icons, but not the default icon, which has been annoying me for a while now. Again, small issues.
Performance:
I've seen a steady decrease in perfomance of this ROM from the first build. LFY1.0, while extremely buggy, was incredibly fast. It was evident in every aspect of phone navigation and population. This ROM continues the trend of a decline in performance on my Droid. I tried so many diff kernels, and my benchmarks were at best par for the course. Until...
Finally, a kernel that got me over the hump. slayher's 1.2GHz kernel is the fastest kernel I've used to date, finally getting me over 1600 on Quadrant (set only at 1.1GHz, mind you). I posted a screenshot elsewhere in the thread if anyone needs convincing. This, however, seems more evident of the kernel and not so much the ROM, considering I could barely score over 1500 with any of my normal kernels (and I've scored as high as 1569 with the first build).
System and App Function: Battery life seems more stable with this ROM than the previous build (1.3 wasn't as good for my Droid as 1.2), running cool and lasting adequately. The Market worked fine, GPS, Wifi, the usual suspects. I did have an issue with Swype FCing, but uninstalling it and reinstalling it seemed to do the trick.
I did want to note that just about everytime I rebooted this for any reason (flashing diff kernels, fixing permissions, etc...), I saw the M logo at least twice, sometimes more. And everytime it came back, it took a full 20 secs before my Droid was actually useable. Usually, LauncherPro would FC, and then everything would go back to normal. This happened on each theme I tried.
Goodies: It seems almost unfair to add this section when I haven't in my other reviews, but I'm going to start from now on. There was a time when it seemed only CyanogenMod ROMs were the only ones that provided those little extras. Now, it seems every ROM has something unto it's own, and let's face it, we want them. The only real extra here is the Reboot and Reboot into Recovery options from the power button, which are starting to become the norm.
Overview: This ROM really does what you want it to, but is somewhat lacking wow factor for me. It's a very solid ROM that's worked out most of the previous issues, but doesn't bring to the table the level of customization that I can be OCD about. I know Liquid and his team are working hard on getting this ROM to top of the food chain, and I look forward to him taking this constructional criticism and blowing me away in builds to come. Until then...
Finally, it is here after a few requests and the added inspiration of a child. LiQuID & I (LiQuIDzGrL) give you The Tangerine Theme. LiQuID JR, our son, we dedicate this theme to you. We love you!
I spent quite a bit of time on this, but my time is lacking between being employed FT, being a mother and basically a wife too. On that note I want to make sure to say thank you to LiQuID for helping fix the theme up for me to get it to release stage on time. Also, thank you to all our testers because without you new releases and optional features would take longer to get released.
I know I can do even better on theming than what you will all get with Tangerine; however unfortunately with lack of time I just couldn’t devote anything more to that specific theme. The good news is though that something better is already in the works, I don’t know when it will be released yet but keep checking back for new releases and updates. With my busy life it is hard to put the time in to being a part of my sweet heart’s team, put together boot animations, avatars, signatures, wallpapers and now themes; but I will continue to try to create new things for everyone to enjoy. LiQuID gave up his weekend with his family here and instead spent it working on this release. He stayed up 48+ hours straight without even 1 wink of sleep to get this ready to be released & I also pulled an all-nighter to get The Tangerine Theme ready for his new release.
Since I am only in the beginning stages of working on my newest creation for a theme now is the time to stop me with user requests to consider. If you post your requests or PM them to me I will consider putting my current project on the back-burner for the moment to attempt to put together something that is more requested and opt to go with user input. No promises but I will consider it. Enjoy everyone! Have a Great Week! And for goodness sake LiQuID please get some sleep!

OK so I had a choice CM6R3 or LFY1.4, gota follow this one especially after I read the post by the real boss about the Tangerine theme. Great couple.....

My Flavors...
Just thought I'd post a few additional screen shots. I love the theme choices and he's an idea of what they look like up against the same background with some custom Launcher Pro setups

Do you have the dock image for this one? I searched 64 pages on the LP forums, and did not locate it. Thanks
That was how I installed the rom. I was also running the 1.3v before flashing this one.
Hmmmm, I just got the same issue. Installed with ubrocked method, came from 1.3 as well. sorry,i just assumed you came from ss4.6 and was trying to help
I gave this ROM a 5 out of 5 -- so smooth, so fast, so stable! I love, love, love the inverted (black) GTalk and search apps (I don't use Twitter and Facebook, but they're beautiful, as well). I can attest to how much work Liquid put into modifying the look of all the widgets, because I personally tested many versions, finally ending with the classy, polished, elegant glossy black with chrome outline you see in the release. It's not possible to give enough credit to the talent and dedication of this developer. You ROCK, Liquid and so does this ROM!!!!

Looks like a couple of cosmetic issues got through us on the Watermark'D theme. Liquid used the "Chevy" version of the updated Watermark'D Theme by Stewart1Champ so you could have the updates to the theme (the "Liquid" version had not been updated yet).
I'll let Liquid know and he'll hopefully be able to correct those issues and then you should be able to re-download and install the new theme over top of you're current setup without issue.
First off, I love this updated rom/theme pack. I did notice one thing though. The LauncherPro default icons seem to be setup for the Tangerine theme, however I installed the updated smoked theme. I did a full wipe of all three partitions (cache, data, and system) before installing this. Still gets a 5/5!

Hey Pfilly, just a thought...
If your Droid is COMPLETELY dead it has to be on the wall charger. The USB charger doesn't have enough 'umph' to restore from a fully drained battery. I don't know if this is the issue or not...I've just learned that lesson the exact same way

It's one of those things...probably better off just biting the bullet now and spend half an hour to set everything back up again.
You may be okay but I haven't tested it like that. Many times you try to save a few minutes and you end up spending more time fixings things that broke along the way.
Every time I take a shortcut...I end up paying for it

+1 -- and I did try it, from 1.3 to 1.4. The first time I loaded the final version of 1.4, I did it without wiping from 1.3 and I had Market issues (a number of my apps couldn't be found in the Market). So I bit the bullet, wiped all partitions and loaded v1.4 again, and voila, no Market issues at all.

just an fyi - When installing, I made a mistake and installed the rom, theme, and kernel back to back BEFORE initial boot of the ROM, working great though - when I realized what I did, i figured I would use that as a test for liquid and report what happened.
it was successful, in fact so successful (fast), that I forgot to SetCPU... LOL
I am an official Liquid fan now - the only ROM ive ran for more then a week, and only ROM I will run from now on - when do I get my "Im a LFY Fan" T-Shirt and secret decoder ring?

Can you keep a secret, Eb? That's the way I ALWAYS do it (after wiping all partitions, of course)!!

Totally new to the rooting process, I LOVE THIS ROM!!! Thank you so much for all the work! I rooted to solve the issue with the SiruisXM app, which now works after a tweak, FTW!
totally newb question here, how do i apply the themes? I can't get it to come up in the ADB options and really cannot find a place where it tells me how to install one of the cool themes that accompany this ROM.
