Have you tried Christine Feehan books? She has a couple of different series that I enjoy quite a bit. The Dark series was my first and I am finally caught up, she also has the Drake Sisters.

I'm reading A Clash of Kings. Game of Thrones was really good (after I finally got around to finishing it).

Keep reading the series is worth it.

On a side note, kind of weird seeing you blue.

Just finished Redwall by Brian Jacques... Reading Nathaniel Hawthorn and Melville for American Literature class.

... and started Les Miserables for some ungodly reason (actually, I know why-- my daughter likes to read this stuff and I have to be able to talk about it with her).

1/3 done with A Clash of Kings. There are a lot of books I want to read (and re-read), but I can't focus on two books at once :/

It doesnt read like a story. Perhaps that's what makes it so frustrating? It feels like a combination of journal entries that are just thrown into a spine and called a novel.

I loved World War Z. It gives a lot of different perspectives of the apocalypse, each one is like a different piece of the big picture.

Reading the Scott Pilgrim series.

Yes, it is a manga-style black-and-white comic (but not front-to-back like a true manga... I guess because that would be too confusing for Canadians?), but it is pure geekgasm.

Just finished The Girl Who Would Be King, a very nice read, kind of quick.

Not going to do a full review, since I am running low on time, but if you like comic-book heroes, then this is a good one in line with that. Great characterization.

I'm a little over half way done with the second Song of Ice and Fire book (Clash of Kings), but I've put that on a secret hiatus while I started reading Stealing the Network: How to Own the Box. Which is just awesome so far. Loving this one.

Starting David Weber's Honor Harrington series, with On Basilisk Station. Don't think I have read this series before, but the concept is similar to several other authors of the sci fi military drama-- female CO gets exiled to middle of nowhere where she must save the galaxy under impossible odds.

Doesn't make it any less entertaining, though...

Great book. He used some of the same concepts in the Sandman series of graphic novels, like the idea that gods only have power as long as people believe in them.

bbk - how are you liking Kootz? I've heard his style is very similar to Richard Laymon (my horror go to author) and I am always looking for more authors.

I just finished the A Clash of Kings a few nights back, and I'm thinking that I might try to squeeze in either The Stake or The Bite (both R. Laymon) before jumping into A Storm of Swords. But I'm not sure yet.

bbk - how are you liking Kootz? I've heard his style is very similar to Richard Laymon (my horror go to author) and I am always looking for more authors.

I just finished the A Clash of Kings a few nights back, and I'm thinking that I might try to squeeze in either The Stake or The Bite (both R. Laymon) before jumping into A Storm of Swords. But I'm not sure yet.
I really like him but if you read the reviews alot of them will say his books start out slow, which i can agree on, he like to give alot to setting up the main plot and then once the climax hits (you are normally confused at this point) it's really good... i would recommend this Odd Thomas series (AMAZINGGGGGGG movie for the first book coming out this summer 5 books total as of now 6th and final coming soon)(Odd Thomas Series Dean Koontz) and i would also recommend his rewrite of the frankenstein series he does it justice and beyond)(Frankenstein Books Dean Koontz)

Are you starting to get into the series?

The Sandman series is amazing. The first book is a little bit typical, but by the third book you will be hooked. All time classic.

There are ten main books and one he wrote later, plus some side stories. I just reread one about his sister, Death, who is a cute goth chick in this mythology. All of them should be listed in the back of the first volume. Seriously, even if you're not crazy about the first one give it a chance through volume#3.

You are talking about Gaiman's Sandman series?

... looks like an expensive read, still. The first book is over $11 just for the Kindle version on Amazon.

Just finished Silentium, the 3rd book in the Forerunner trilogy by Greg Bear. I was very disappointed with the 2nd book in the trilogy so wasn't expecting much here. I forgot the guy is a genius and Silentium didn't disappoint. It tied up a lot of loose ends, and did an excellent job of fixing some of the gaping plot holes that were created as a result of the stuff that went on in Halo 4. It didn't turn out to be too Deus Ex Machina either.

Going back to read Forge of God now.
