I was gonna post a new thread, but figured I'd just hijack this one instead.

I'm a CSR, and am SICK and TIRED of people screwing up something, and then getting made at me that I don't have a magic wand to fix their problem. Case in point (and this happened twice this week) .....

Everyone with half a brain knows that Sprint does not own Google, these are two entirely separate entities. You buy a Sprint phone, that runs on a Google OS, but that's it. You have to set up a Google account to use the Moment, which then stores your contacts, etc online. So what happens when some ID10T hard resets their phone and doesn't remember their Google log in information? They call Sprint, and complain that *WE* lost their contacts, and they want them back. Um, no, those are stored on Google's server, not Sprint's, and no, I can't view Google's server information to get your username back for you. Yes, I understand you can't use your phone without Google account information, the only thing I can suggest is that you create a new account so you can at least use the phone you're paying for, and talk to Google to get your old account information, so you can import the contacts into the new one. Nope, that's not good enough for this person, he want's *ME* to magically make his contacts appear on the phone, because why does Sprint sell phones they don't support? We *DO* support the phone, but not the third party applications on it. DURRR

Best part was ..... This was the THIRD TIME he'd done a hard reset on the phone, and lost all his contacts because he didn't remember his Google account info. Gee, after the first time, you'd think he'd realize that "Hey, this Google information stuff is important, I may want to write it down somewhere or use something I might actually remember", but NOOOOOOOO.

I hate when Sprint reps bash someone for losing all of his contacts, it really is Sprint's problem....... (just kidding)

Default After this i'm going to roll around on the floor for a bit, k?

What grinds my gears:

BANKS: they cant be trusted, and am glad that i no longer use any, but get steamed up when the general populace fail to grasp the fact that banks are'nt needed if you make life simple.
Chip and pin cards: the last thing needed in a crowded shop with 20Kg of shopping and a tetchy 4yr old is some muppet taking 7 minutes using a card to pay for pack of 20p mints! TRY USING CASH!!!!
Windows: dont even go there: if you get a security problem, and adding extra layers of complexity seem to make no difference then try another OS, dont bring it to me unless its a donation.
OCD: if you know you have a touching disorder, and i've chewed your head off for touching things that are not your to touch, then dont try to be my friend...It'll lead to hurt!
CARS: The standard stereo is fine, there is no reward for waking half the town at 3am with your 'music' except alienation, and arguments. If your hearing is that bad go see the doctor and get a hearing aid, if your IQ is so low your unable to consider others then please follow the instructions of others when they tell you to get lost at sea.
Water Bills: The most abundant chemical on the planet and we have to pay for it? yes i know its cleaned and processed, but I didnt ask for it to be treated and have chemicals added to it: I'd collect my own but the water company tries to charge me for collect rain water. We only really drink a very small % of tap water, so this just really winds my blood pressure right up!
Wimpy Parents: If your child is naughty then smack it. Seriously! I'm not asking anyone to beat their kids, but a slap to the backside should not leave them marked and does wonders for their behaviour, your stress levels, and everyone elses. My lad got out of shape on a bus and i smacked him for trying to steal an old lady hat, and a big cheer went up! Take note wimpy parents, if you dont disipline your kids now prison will later.
TV: the idiots lantern. There is no other medium that pours so much rubbish into the mind as a TV. Try living without it, take up a hobby, call a friend, write a letter, engage with your family, but for the love of god do something rather than just sit there like a yoyo watching death, war, famine, and destruction - seasoned with others ideas of what to think, say, and do.
Short men: they seem to cause the most problems. If your feeling that inferiour and threatened by taller folk:get some stilts! Remember that your bad attitude may remind me that your nuts are closer to my foot than mine are to yours!

Now i feel better: nurse...reduce the dose now

People who say "App" to refer to software for their phones. Thats Apple's machine at work co-opting terminology and you can stop letting them do it.

But "App" is just short for Application. I never thought of it as an Apple thing in the first place. I see your point though, and less computer savvy people probably think Apple invented the term "App". Heh. Yuck.

Sprint sucks.

I despise people who become a fan of random crap that no one cares about. For instance, I have a friend who is a fan of 987 things. For certain reasons, I can't unfriend / hide her. She becomes a fan of things like "Air", "Breathing", or "i hte it when pplz cnt spll". I want to punch her in the face every time I see her on the feed.

I can't stand people who know that a lane is going to end and yet stay in the soon-to-end lane until the last effin minute before getting over and cutting you off. It happened to me five times from five different people today in a 10 mile drive.

I hate it when games allow you to shoot / kill defenseless animals. Even worse, the people that actually kill them.

I can't stand those girls that give the rest of us a bad name. You know the ones I'm talking about. The ones that sit there and act like they're your best friend and then ten minutes later are talking smack about you.

I don't like watching people play video games and not being able to tell them what to do / how to do it.

Sprint sucks.

...-breathes in- I think I'm done now.

I work as a Cardiac Monitor Tech at NEARMC here in Alabama. My only coworkers Monday thru Thursday on third shift are two women. One 21 and the other 27. (Actually, I'm the only male across all three shifts. But the older ladies are tolerable) The ONLY thing they ever talk about are men. Who's the hottest, who isn't, why their exes suck, how they need a boyfriend. It gets damn annoying. Especially when they start 'going into heat' over Robert Patterson every single night. I'm not the mean type, so it's not like I would turn around and say "Would you just shut up?" and I can't really ignore them due to the very nature of the job.

I need another man back there to balance the sheer amount of estrogen.

I hate iphone owners keep remind others they have a iphone every chance they get.

"Let me check my email on my iPhone."

"Let me call my friend with my iPhone."

"I am listening music from my iPhone."

"Where is my iPhone?"

"Oh, I can do that with the app that I just purchased on my iPhone."

or worse, some guy asked me "What kind of iPhone is that?" while looking at my boot screen that said Android and Acer below that.

People who don't know Canada is not in Europe need to die. Seriously.

Xbox owners are annoying especially talking about the recent PSN incident while they go through 3 xboxs in 3 years and got another ring of death a week later.

I hate people on craigslist email you an offer of $100 while you are selling for $300 and you already posted no lowballers in the ad.

I think people who always talking trash and hate message to gay people while they were getting their butt bang by men every night are stupid.

And finally, people in class need to stop asking questions that already have answer in the powerpoint slide. If you just read the slide you would have know the answer and those stupid question could have saved 10 minutes of class time that can do something more productive.

You have those too? There's one kid in my class who *every* day without fail, asks something stupid. Here's the scenario:

Teacher: We take the negative component because then these two add and it gives us the worst case.

Annoying Student: So which one do we take? Should we do both and figure out which one's worse?

T: Yes.

A.S.: So what you're saying is...

T: You take the worst case.

A.S.: Are there any shortcuts we should know about or should we always just calculate both scenarios?

T: Just do both.

The teacher hates him just as much. It doesn't help that he comes in *every* day 20-30 minutes late. And this is to a class that's only an hour long.

Oh, and he talks about how "easy" architecture is (he's a dual arch/civil like myself) and how the world shouldn't need architects because the civil engineers should just be able to do their job.

Yeah... People always asked pointless question and come in 20-30 minutes late. They are not kids anymore and they should know that you should not be late even 1 minute. It is frustrating to see people told you to meet up at a certain time and showed up 30 minutes later.

And architecture is not easy at all. The designing part is frustrating to learn as different professor from different class has different view of what is a "good" design. Plus the grading is very objective so if your professor in your class hated you, then you are out of luck.

Default Official HTC Incredible thread killed by Ignorance!

A Moderator here on the forums just shut down one of the most popular threads....the "Official HTC Incredible" thread. He said "Congatulations people you managed to get this thread shut down". Now you might wonder what got the thread shut down. Was it bickering, flaming, foul language? No. Was it off topic discussion? yes Wow...so let me get this straight. The absolute best thread on the internet with regard to the HTC Incredible just got shut down. Other sites were actually posting as news the things that were getting uncovered in that thread. Heck, Phandroid posted from things produced in that thread! Everyone was civil too! Show me a thread that doesn't go off topic...especially when people are passionate...that doesn't go off topic sometimes....it just doesn't happen. By the way...this "Official HTC Incredible" thread was officially about a phone that hasn't even been released! It's a place for people to discuss what is known about the phone....and IMNSHO...a place to congregate while we wait. The amateur sleuths in that thread were awesome!

The biggest point of all is that the moderator is a total killjoy. Most everyone was enjoying themselves immensely. It makes me wonder if there wasn't some ulterior motive. Perhaps the thread was too popular?! My take is that this move was PATHETIC and is a black eye for the Android Forums. I will probably be banned or admonished for such outspokenness...but I don't care. Besides, I'm not sure anyone will read this anyway...but I know there were thousands reading the other thread. Congatulations Android Forums/Phandroid...you shut down the coolest and most informative thread on the Incredible phone. I hope you correct this and put the moderator in his place!

THE DMV! No wait the people in line at the DMV! You're here for a new license, it would stand to reason that they want to see your old one first, get the shit out of your purse! On that note, people in line at the market. You know you have to pay, get that shit ready while they are ringing up your items!

What grinds me?

People who refuse to see the FREIGHT TRAIN coming down the track!

What do I mean? I'll let Thomas Jefferson explain:

"I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them."

We the "people" are doing a TERRIBLE job of "preventing!"

Default Scrubbing Bubbles are not real

False advertising. I used an entire can of Scrubbing Bubbles bathroom cleaner to find those guys . . . they weren't in there.

It's been 30 years . . . we have advanced technology . . . they STILL aren't in there!

You know what really grinds my gears? People who are intolerant of other people's cultures and the Dutch

Actually, people who use the term "steep learning curve" incorrectly really makes me want to go ape shit crazy. I think 99.99% of the times I see it used it is wrong.

How slow this site has been the last week or so. Sometimes, it won't even load. I'm not mad at you mods and admins, just frustrated when I can't get my daily fix here! LOL

it is the fact that everything these days moves at hyperspeed. there is no room for error. everybody is an expert and seems to have audacity to tell you how to do you job when a lot of the time they havent a clue what they are talking about. like someone trying to explain how flash memory works but doesnt know the basics of it.

people should know what they know and share it honestly instead of BSing their way through it. if you dont acually know it then dont try to act like you do.

Mad

You know what really grinds my gears?!??...

People who make snarky comments about how fast I walk. It's especially annoying when the women I work with do this because they know I can't say anything smart-ass back since we're in a professional environment. Thus they are both rude AND cowardly.

These are women that walk so slowly it's painful. They just amble along like they're at the flea market or a county fair or something.

I, however, have purpose in my stride. I have places to go, things to do. That's just how I am. I inherited The Walk from my father, who wasn't down with BS either.

But this has happened to me my whole life, not just at the place I currently work. The last time someone was a real a-hole about it I had just gotten off work at the huge hospital I worked at and was walking to the parking deck. THREE freaking people were walking side-by-side blocking almost the entire walkway (one of them was in some sort of prom-looking dress, no less) - plodding along at a snail's pace, talking, totally not paying attention to their surroundings. Finally I passed them after one of them noticed I was behind them and moved to the side a bit. But instead of doing the decent thing and just letting me by like a normal, polite person they made all these passive-aggressive comments loudly behind me. Thankfully, since I'm such a fast walker it didn't take long until I was out of ear range of their BS.

I should add I've had some good experiences: one time a lady passed me in the hall at the same hospital and called out with much admiration in her voice, "Ah! Another person with a determined walk!" as she sped by. Still one of the coolest things that's ever happened to me. If I could have given that bad-ass lady a pot o' gold I would have.

Oh, and it also really grinds my gears when men assume that my truck belongs to my husband. Never mind that I know how to drive it and don't drive like a constipated grandma and can parallel park it with one hand (it's an extended cab GMC Sierra, so not the easiest thing in the world), etc. The next person who assumes it's my man's ride is going to get an earful. It's just rude and condescending.

FIN!

It's human nature for us to complain. It's nice to 'let off steam' now and then...now if someone does it all the time...man he/she would be an annoying person to hang out with >_>

Anyone who listens to Soulja Boy and thinks that's hip hop

Also people who proclaim that Lil Wayne is the best rapper alive.

YOU READ MY MIND!?

What the f**k is so amazing about hopping out a bed and turning "swag" on?

Lil Wayne kisses dudes, enough said.

Where's my old school B.I.G and Snoop!? New hip-hop these days just doesn't nearly amount to the good stuff from the late 80s and early 90s.

People who think they know everything about everything but when you prove them wrong they don't have the decency to admit their wrongdoing. Pansies.

Yup, I'm a fan of the 90s personally. Some stuff today though isn't bad but unfortunately it isn't as popular as it should be.

Another rant: I hate it when these servers take a crap!

Amen lol, screw rehab

jmims try living in Miami, I deal with one one every three minutes Had one today...I took my mom's truck to get the oil changed. once it was finished I was pulling out of the parking lot onto the main road...the cars were way down the road. So I'm getting up to speed when I look in my mirror and a speeding Honda Element is on the right lane closing on me fast and sure enough he's on my bumper in no time just inches away. What do I do? I let off the accelerator and coast slowly

I hate my job. And here's why.

I hate it when people can't be bothered to read a sign. "Entertainment Book coupons valid Monday through Thursday"? Nope, they give me one on a Friday night and then demand to see my supervisor when I can't accept it. Or even worse. The name of the restaurant is "Zacks Hotdogs" For the love of god people, don't come in and ask for cheeseburgers and pizza. I don't have them. Oh, and when you come in 5 minutes before I close and I tell you I can only serve hotdogs, do NOT demand that I make you chicken tenders and fries. I told you when you walked in the door that my fryer is off for cleaning. And I swear to god, if one more person has a fit about "not wanting a f***ing hotdog" I'm gonna punch somebody. They walked into a specialty hotdog store, but they're not even willing to consider eating a hotdog? Oh, and we lock the doors promptly at 9 (or 10 on the weekends). Do not try to open the doors at 9:03 (or 10:03). Our hours are clearly posted on the front door. If you happen to come by exactly as I'm closing, and you see me locking the door, don't tell me to wait. I will not. Do not complain about my fountain being out of order. I told you when you asked that it was down and we were getting a new one, and that you could have a bottle out of the cooler for no extra charge. I can't magically make Pepsi come out. Or Mountain Dew. Have a bottle of Coke or Mello Yello and STFU. Oh, and if you're one of the annoying people that come in at 9:59 and want to eat your food in the restaurant, that's fine. We won't kick you out. But we will lock the doors so that you have to ask to be let out. We're not kidnapping you, so don't throw a fit. And if you don't like the music coming over the PA, I'm sorry. We don't have a radio. Deal with what's on the iPod. And if you happen to do something nice for us, like telling us when someone's trying to steal something, or cleaning up the condiment bar, we will not give you a free bag of chips. Don't cuss out the supervisor. And we are not a full service restaurant. This means come get your food when we call it out, and throw your own damn trash away.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is what really grinds my gears.

Default Google maps

Unless I'm missing something (and I've read the manual top to bottom) I don't see a way of saving locations. You'd think that would be a seriously basic thing to be able to do? Is there something I'm missing??

I hate countless Apple vs Android discussions, because rather than becoming objective comparisons it becomes an argument between fanboys. I'm tired of Apple fanboys bashing Android, and I'm tired of Android fanboys bashing Apple. You know what I'm talking about, the "APpLe SuCkS tHeY dOn'T dO aNyThInG bEtTeR iDk WhY aNyOnE eVeN bUyS tHeM" crap. The two platforms can coexist people!

I hate my job and the fact that there are a ton of awesome video games out right now that I should be getting paid to sit on my @$$ at home to play instead of running finance and productivity reports for 24 hospitals... :-/
