Default Help!!! At sea bad connection need advice

Hi everyone, really new to all this so excuse the lack of wizardry with all this, im actually at sea right now and had taken the plunge and purchased the samsung galaxyS11 before leaving, now im at sea 15 days it decides to not want to turn on, the most i get when i plug it in is what looks like a empty battery icon with the ''thinking'' or ''working'' circle displayed in the centre of the battery icon.
Anybody with more of a technical mind than me to give some advice would be amazing

Thanks Kyle

It sounds like what you're seeing is an "empty battery" icon, that's a zero with a diagonal line thru it in the middle of the battery icon. You need to plug the charger into the phone and let it charge for a few hours.

Pull your battery and leave it out for a few min. Then put it back in and see what ya got. You might have a bad battery?

Two hours and it hasn't charged at all? That's not normal in my opinion. Did the phone happen to get wet? I hate to be the bearer of bad news, especially given your situation, I'm ex-US Navy so I know what it's like being out at sea.. you could have a bad battery on your hands. I've never had that happen to me with any of my phones but it's always a possibility. I'm afraid I can't be much help about this particular issue. Hopefully someone can chime in and help.

We are you, if you're allowed to say? I remember our ship traveling through the Straights of Magellan during UNITAS 85. Two layers of foul weather gear and we were freezing 5 minutes after walking out of the bridge.

^ I have a question for you... is your device rooted?

Also, did you happen to pull the battery as DJ wondered?

When you say rooted do you mean its open to any sim card, if so then yes it is, if not then i guess it is not rooted as i bought it, put my sim in and thats it really didnt do anything too technical as you can guess im not great at this stuff. but yes i pulled the battery and put it back in after 5 mins, tried to turn on without the power cable, nothing at all, then tried with the power cable in and i get back to the battery icon with strange circle of death in the middle

I just had an idea. Is the battery icon you're seeing center on the screen and in grey? I'm thinking it could mean that the battery isn't furnishing any info to the system when the system queries it. Could mean either a bad battery or it's not seated properly. But, I'm just guessing at this point.

Yeah, I do remember seeing that on a phone, it means there's a problem with the battery and there's no use trying to charge it. I do know from experience that the carrier will replace a bad battery for free this soon after purchase (defective equipment).. at least here in the US.
