Where was this massive snowstorm last week when I was on vacation!? I want to play in this thing!

I have a black car, and I have already got pollen on my car every day. It's barely February. Two years ago we had 3 inches of snow right now. Now given that was a 25 year fluke, but still. Last year I had a month straight of frost on my car, this year, two days. Total. I sure wish we got a winter this year, but for us, it went straight from fall to spring.

morning all!!!!
Just checking in and saying hi...I have been lurking, but not posting much, been an incredibly busy week.
Plus I am having so much fun with this phone....had to share a quick story.
A friend of ours that is a composer will be playing music at our wedding in September and I got together with him and his wife for a little planning meeting on Wednesday. They both own iPhones but have PC laptops for all of their work, and had everything spread out with a keyboard/piano set up so he could play some examples and show me what he was thinking about playing. But he wanted a playlist of the songs we like and will be providing to our actual DJ....which I had forgotten to bring with me....so I whipped out my Nexy, used splashtop remote to log into my server at home, set up remote access for them to access the server with all the actual music that they can listen to over the coming weeks/months, created a Word document of the playlist, downloaded the doc to my Nexy and printed it to their wireless printer right there at their house....just that quickly. I look over at them sitting on the couch......and they are both staring at me like I have completely gone nutso!!!!!
And then asked me how to get a phone that does all of that!!!!
I left about an hour later laughing so hard it hurt. Made my day. BIG TIME!!!!
Hope everyone has a great Friday, and a safe weekend.

To some few demented souls (any skiers out there?) and husky mixes, it would be another Xmas gift
Man, what I would give for a snow like that here. Most I've seen is about 10-12" and I think that's a record or very close to one here. We didn't even get snow this year and it's in the mid 60's now.

Same here man...except I've had frost on my car 10 or so times. Granted I get up and leave well before sun-up, but still, last year would have had many more days like that...probably 30.
Anyone have the link to the Swype APK download for the Nexus? Was going to wait on them for their "end of month update" well...end of month has passed and it isn't here.

While I don't have an awesome story like that to share, I just love the fact that I can take a photo with my Nexus, slap a piece of photo paper into the printer and print it straight from my phone! So amazing that my aunt is secretly wanting a Nexus (iPhone user).

While I am generally opposed to buying single stocks as opposed to mutual funds, is anyone else here tempted to pluck down some cash on Facebook stock?
One part of me thinks it could be the next big thing... another part thinks it's about as big as it's gonna get already.
I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on the IPO...

You have to be out of your mind to say something like that. If facebook isn't going to support mobile as a way to expand their business, then they aren't going anywhere IMO.

In other words, if it follows the other recent tech stocks (linkden, groupon, pandora, zynga) it will sell high and then drop immediately. Google was three times less expensive as an IPO and facebook is 40 times more expensive that the average IPO of the last 40 years. With this kind of price you have to ask yourself if you believe that Facebook can grow enough to have enough revenue and profit in the first few years to offset its cost. Facebook is already traded on secondary markets like Share Post and pre-IPO investors are already able to buy and sell shares from employees and current shareholders; simply meaning a lot of money has already been made here.
Kind of comforting to know that some Lounge members ninja'd the professional analysts
(Reuters) - It's the year's hottest initial public offering, but some wealth managers find themselves having a hard time recommending Facebook to their clients...

yeah....there are a few options. I use a printer I set up in Google Cloudprint, and it works very well (can print to any printer set up that way, even if not close by, which is pretty slick!) For example, I can print something on my home printer or office printer, wherever I am, as long as I have an internet connection on my phone.

Oh and printing from the Nexus...for those who have Brother wifi printers, they have an app that lets you print webpages, pdfs, and pictures directly from your phone as well as scan directly to it if your printer/all-in-one has that capability. Very slick if you have their products.

I like that idea, but I prefer to be around when the printer is running.
^^^ My luck the printer will print non stop and catch on fire if I am not there. LOL
EDIT: And if you have a cat that is a bad egg and likes to play with the printer as it is printing.............

Link to the apk doesn't work anymore, that's why I was asking.
Probably because after going to all the trouble (see the arguments in the comments about who deserved credit for Swype) it came out that Swype is not a free app, is copyrighted, and limited to devices intended in their OEM and Beta programs.
Aside from apk sharing of this type going against our rules, Swype threatened legal action against XDA, so please, protect your AndroidForums.com - thank you!

That's how I use Printer Share, through the Google cloud for a non wifi printer and direct with a wifi printer.
Still getting random reboots every few days, and the one I just had was worrisome - I was opening up the browser when the phone froze up momentarily, just as it does right before every reboot; but then, right as it was rebooting, I heard a popping noise - like when you pull a plug out of a socket too quickly and you hear a quick pop of electricity. Anyone had anything like this?

I have not had any of this. As far as I can tell I've only had a handful of random reboots since getting my phone. I hope its all ok.

Oh, I'd be sending that puppy back in a heart beat! I'm still knocking on wood, but I haven't had any reboots on my replacement phone, and only had maybe 4 or 5 on the first Nexus I had.
Anyone read this? If this is true im not going to be happy
I just came from the VZW Nexus Forum to get that posted here. I read it on droid-life and it doesn't look good. Methinks maybe the Wallet on GNex issue wasn't completely resolved?
I bet all comers 10 quatloos that there is no truth whatsoever to the idea that the Gnex is no longer supported by Google.
I am siding with you.
But if I were to play devil's advocate, Google decided since the carrier has too much control in a CDMA environment, they had to jump through too many hoops to continue to support it as a developer phone.

Or Droid Life needed to rebuild traffic since their pre-release readership has always been here.
Take your pick.
j/k just totally kidding
Seriously though, even Droid Life comes out and says they're just covering bases. Pretty hot title tho.
The first thing I will say, in quoting the amazing Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy:

DON'T PANIC
Being removed from that page doesn't mean Google is dumping the phone anymore that it means the phone is going to quit working. Even if Google has decided to no longer make the phone a developer device it doesn't mean that they are no longer going to support the phone or that the phone will never see another update.
I think Kellex gives out some amazing information, but in this case I think he is hop scotching right over a conclusion before the game is finished.

Haha!
Like I posted in the thread on this subject in the GNex forum, I think we all remember when Google changed the storage spec of the LTE GNex to 16GB on the google.com/nexus page. So for now I am leaning toward the explanation that some gungho employee inadvertantly removed the CDMA devices from the list somehow, similar to that little snafu...

Another update by Kellex, saying almost exactly what you just said.
edit: And said it came from Phandroid... haha.
