Yup, caught up on all the happenings of the weekend. Didn't take long to do that though, haha. 1 hour to go though and then I get to go home and crash!

Why does it always seem like the most fun is had around here when I am not around? haha.

So I can't imagine doing the night shift, although they have in the past done it here. But that was back when they needed more engineers, but couldn't afford more desk space, so just piggybacked two shifts. I can't imagine having to share my desk with someone else.

Oh and some good news on the parenting front... My daughter stayed dry all weekend long, and my youngest slept all night and past 7am for 3 days straight now. HUGE weekend for us

I had it a couple of weeks ago. I actually think there are Northbound and Southbound versions as I had it two separate times. I hope you feel better.

Good Morning all! Quick question, I am using light flow and have it notify me when an email arrives. If I look at the message header in the notification area and swipe it away, the led continues to blink. Is there away to have the notification go off without clicking on the email and then deleting it? Would be very convenient for those emails I do not need to read on the fly and can wait until I get back to my laptop. Thanks in advance and Happy Monday!

In light flow, go to Notifications and the notification you want to change (email or gmail in this case) and you can choose Clear Notification Style (manual, screen, viewed). You can also have it clear when you pull down the notification bar. Another way is to set Lightflow to clear all notifications if you click the clear all button in your notification bar (I think its an x in ICS, but I have no notifications at the moment).

Thanks PupKact, I had it checked to clear when you pull down the notification, but it kept blinking. Re-installed, checked again, now working!

Phew so I had a lot longer absence than I had intended! I've been really busy with quite a few things.

And yes the puppies are great! They've grown up so much. I have taken about a million pictures, which aren't on my brand new laptop yet. But will be soon! And then you will finally get to enjoy their beautiful faces.

I just got my replacement Nexus today. I don't know if this is good or bad, but the manufacture date is 11/19/11, which is older than the device it replaces. I will activate it here shortly and post the other vital specs.

**edit** Everything else is identical, except for the manufacturing date -

Baseband: I515.09 V.EK05 / I515.EK02
Kernel: 3.0.8-gaaa2611 android-build@apa28 #1
Build number: ICL53F
Manufacturing date: 11/19/11

As a side note, I was trying to download my music again and the phone just absolutely freaked out. It acted as if one was rapidly swiping their finger back and forth over the screen. I couldn't shut it down gracefully so I had to pull the battery. Wow, I hope that was just because it powered up and downloaded/installed 20+ apps at once. If not, I'm keeping my old one!

My replacement was manufactured 11/22/11, a few days before my original one. I can say my screen was better on the replacement and I did not even know the other one was "not good". Blacks were much better and contrast greater. Good luck, hopefully this one will not have any issues.

Awesome. That sort of stuff is one of the reasons why I want to do the UCLA professional program - it's tough to learn as you go I've learned. And if you screw up, it's a pretty big problem.

Jeez, I guess I'm lucky with this non-sickness. The only time I've left work sick is when I had bronchitis and couldn't talk. The luxuries of working in the restaurant industry.
Feel better everyone!

I went about setting up my new Nexus today and I noticed that the screen appears to have a reddish hue. I thought I was seeing things but I put it next to my existing Nexus and sure enough, the new one looks different. Not necessarily bad, but different. I always thought the other one had a bluish hue, lol. Is there any way to adjust that, or is that simply differences in manufacturing?

I think some of the kernels now have the ability to tweak colors. Pretty sure Lean Kernel and Franco both have that ability. I would try flashing one and adjusting the color on it to see if it helps.

Anyone have a good suggestion for a quick trip the last week in March? Wife likes beach, or anywhere warm with a pool. I prefer snow, lol. I guess I'll give in and go warm.

Nothing like SoCal for options. Beach and snow all in the same day. Hit Malibu one day, then next day drive 2 hours to Big Bear to ski/board. Or Palm Springs. Palm Springs could be 80's-90's by then. If you wait to mid-April, you could catch the Coachella Festival. Or avoid it

At the top of the list The only problem is the nearest port is so far away we would have to fly...might as well just fly somewhere and stay at a resort if we have to do that Cruises used to depart from Mobile, AL which isn't too far, but I haven't seen any departing from there in March.

Haha, yeah. Gotta take vacations when the wife isn't teaching (which means, we take vacations when college/high school kids do too...). May wait till the summer, but not sure yet.
