Bwa-hahahahaha. That was funny.
Although I can honestly say I didn't start my antics till about 15 or 16. I was the quintessential good girl till then.

First we find out you'd never seen Star Wars, now you've never had some of the tastiest fast food out there!
If you like monster sized burritos, you'll love em. I'm sure there's one nearby you.
The company (based out of Denver) actually just opened up a new concept based off of Asian food but with a similar layout in DC. Not sure why they did it here. Still haven't been but the ingredients look really cool. I've heard that the veggie option (tofu) is extremely spicey. Makes me excited! ShopHouse Southeast Asian Kitchen
And, good morning everyone!
Looks like MWC hasn't brought a whole lot yesterday/today. The coolest looking phones were the ones by Intel running Celeron processors. 1.6Ghz single core and they look to be pretty fast. Basically running stock GB, which is kind of weird. Other odd part is they're only launching in India.
Will be interesting to see if Google chooses Intel as the processor for the next Nexus.

I'm full of surprises for you all! There's a Chipotle less than 10 minutes from me. A big part of the reason I haven't been is Mom can't eat spice, she has am extremely sensitive palate, and Ann & Pop don't like it much. Just leaves me and Dad and we feel bad leaving the other 3 on their own. I'll get there eventually.

That's a bummer. Their mild salsa really is just a mixture of tomatoes and onions. I've never had any of their meats so I'm not sure if they're spicy.
Always a downer to have to accomidate other folks' palates (says the vegetarian). My wife will eat anything (except bell peppers, strangely) so we go out for any and all foods.
Anyone else college baseball fanatics in here?? We're now full swing into the season! Couldn't be happier!
Never really been into any college sports, to be honest. Except March Madness. Everyone gets into that.
I'm actually a huge fantasy baseball fanatic (as I think I've mentioned before)... which may or may not be what's continuing to distract me from doing an RSRSS. (Sorry guys.)

Yeah, Chipotle's steak has a kick to it, and I think their others do too - IIRC, they marinate all their meats in adobo. Qdoba's is much milder.

My 10yr old loves Chipotle just as much as we do, and even the 5yr old will eat it with no problem. We have 2 within walking distance of work and home, so we are frequent eaters there...gotta try it if you can. But we also have a local restaurant here in town called Freebirds....its actually on campus at the University of Cali at Santa Barbara...UCSB. seriously good. Same concept as chipotle but with some extras....we love the Queserito. A 14" tortilla grilled as a quesedilla, and then add the burrito ingrediants like steak and rice and beans and cheese and salsa and sour cream and salsa....okay hungry now!!!
Hope everyone has a good Tuesday....seems Monday had a few bits of good news for some....so let's make Tuesday just as encouraging.....!!!!

Have you ever been to a Baja Fresh? I love that one too. Their tostada salad is awesome! Basically a massive salad of black beans (generally they add chicken too), lettuce, tomato salsa, sour cream, cheese, gauc. inside of a big crispy tortilla like shell. They also have a big salsa bar including some really delicious ones. Hmmm, now I'm hungry
Ryan, I'm sure you guys have much better burrito options in Santa Barbara than Chipotle!
We have a few local spots since DC has a large Latino population (our neighborhood is roughly 25% Latino).
Only problem with kids is their portions are huge! Definitely go sharezy if you're with kids at Chipotle.

Good morning all! Been away for a few days...busy busy busy. I'm still catching up on posts, but wanted to comment on this.
Anyway, I echo what Nkk says above. I think I mentioned before my fiasco with my DX - it was my 5th phone that was the jewel. It was also a new one, but it took a ton of time / work to get it - 3 levels up of managers. But, it's the one I sold recently, and the buyer seems to be thrilled he got it (heard from him after he received it.)
Lucky - if they do send you a new one, be sure they don't reset your contract date, which they did to me. It took HOURS later to get that reset. If I had noticed it when they did it, I would have had an easier time getting it changed back. But, eventually they did move it back and that's what enabled me to get Nessie on release date.
So, bottom line - they CAN give you a new phone but you have to push for it. Mention that you're very active on the forums, and you know that these are known issues, that you bought a NEW phone, but it's not worked right yet. You have a right to a NEW phone that is actually working. You paid for a NEW, WORKING phone, but they haven't provided it yet.
I am fine with THIS refurb GN, and it works SO incredibly well - I'm very, very glad I didn't get one of the "r" phones! I've had this for 4 weeks, and make a TON of calls on it, and so far (knock on wood) no loss of audio issues at all. I hope you get it resolved to your liking. Good luck!

Ehhh Baja Fresh is very meh to me -- nothing terribly exciting.
Chipotle is always steak (or chicken), rice, black beans, medium or hot salsa, cheese, sour cream, lettuce.

This is our local joint. Hole in the wall in a basement. Owner is super nice. Menu has some pretty off the wall meats to choose from. Of course they have to have menudo soup to help out all the hungover folks in the neighborhood! Taqueria Distrito Federal - Menu
I've never tried Chipotle, but we go to a place up here called Moe's (not sure how widespread the chain is). I get a Home Wrecker myself (chicken burrito w/ black beans, rice, and the works for toppings) and yes, that is the name on the menu. Nothing beats a nice big two handed burrito.

We have them!! I get the Homewrecker too but usually in a bowl not in the tortilla. And I ALWAYS get queso. Its delicious.

Would have loved it too. Only thing I've noticed is (from owning a Nook Color, Flyer, Galaxy Tab 10.1) is that Android tabs really need some serious power. The Tegra 3 on the Prime really has done it for me and I don't think a dual core OMAP is up to the challenge. ICS certainly has helped as HC was just a bit premature. Hoping the next Nexus has this capability and that any sort of "web top" addition is both cheaper and smoother than the ones out there (looks are you Moto ).
Love how their demo video, in another clip, touts that it doesn't need a separate data plan.

This may sound weird, but when we were deciding between two places to live in LA, one of the factors was that there was a Chipotle around the corner
When we come back from Canada, the FIRST thing we do is walk to Chipotle. There is NO decent Mexican food in Canada (at least where we are), so we go into Chipotle withdrawal up there.
All this talk sent me to Wikipedia, bacause I thought they were owned by McDonalds (they sold out a few years ago it says).
BUT, here is where I need help from all the foodies here, especially Stigy. Wiki says: "When a burrito with carnitas, rice, vegetables, cheese, guacamole, and salsa was compared with a typical Big Mac, the burrito had more fat, cholesterol, carbohydrates, and sodium than the Big Mac, but it also had more protein and fiber."
Please tell me that I can still eat me my chicken burritos! Is it just the pork? How is this possible?! Auuuuggh!

Yeah, Chipotle, while being made with pretty healthy ingredients, is really a calorie king. I don't think I've ever finished one (but I'm a smallish eater). One thing that always helps is nix the sour cream and cheese and go for guac only. Going with beans only (no meat) helps and also getting it in a bowl (no tortilla). They just started the option of brown rice also (not positive if it's every location). It's not bad, just a lot chewier and more filling.
I'm glad McD has dropped their part ownership. I also appreciate it was started by CIA grads (my alma mater).

Doesn't sound too weird to me that it was a factor. It's not like you told the realtor the house HAD to be near a Chipotle.
Well, in my very uneducated food knowledge (I tend to retain odd things I hear along the way) - most tortillas actually have more carbs and calories than a roll. Sodium is in the carnitas, rice, guacamole and salsa. Fat you have to realize that guacamole and cheese are higher in fat than a lot of us thing BUT guacamole is healthier fats. Cholesterol I know almost nothing about. (Couldn't even tell you mine) So yes, you can still eat your chicken burrito. Almost any nutritionist looking at the foods themselves and the way they are prepared would tell you that the stuff from Chipotle that you're eating is still going to be better for you than a Big Mac at McDonald's.
That's my take on it anyway. I'll happily take any other info or have mine corrected.

I'm going to finally see A Separation today since the lady wants nothing to do with it.
Still haven't seen The Artist but not sure if I want to (the lady is begging me).

Best way I found to get healthier at Chipotle is to drop the tortilla and do a burrito bowl and nix the sour cream and cheese. The steak isn't horrible for you and I figure the hotter the salsa the faster its coming out of me anyway so how many calories can my body retain in that short amount of time, HAHA. But on a serious note I don't eat Chipotle often enough to worry about that -- its more of a present to myself or a total craving for Chipotle kind of night.
Also I am definitely going to upload the PRO Unlock Key to the Amazon appstore - hopefully its approved with their approval process. These are the numbers for the first 3 days of the application being in the Amazon app store. With that large market I would love to try and make some money there by selling the PRO key. Just wonder how its going to go through their testing since all it does is look for the free application on the device and then hide the launcher icon, hmmm.

I would only get a wi-fi tablet right now because of needing a separate data plan. Having a phone do this and to not need a separate data plan would be awesome. Although I wouldn't be surprised to see the carriers charge more if a phone has this capability.

I wish I could chime in but I didn't see many movies last year and none of the ones nominated for Best Picture. Hugo I'd like to see. The Help and the Descendants as well but otherwise not a lot that I remember being disappointed in missing.

Eh, those types of movies, sci-fi and what not, never win many if any awards. I was bummed with Star Trek (the latest) only won one. Also was disappointed Streep won for best actress. I mean, come on, the lady is amazing, but she's won enough. Give someone else a chance

Oh, the drive in! We had one in Hyde Park, NY (where my culinary school was ). The played some dated movies. We went once, and I loved it. One of those great charms you don't get living in the city.
Update to my Nexus woes: I didn't get a callback within 24 hours, as I assumed I wouldn't. I called Verizon and explained, yet again, my situation to the poor frazzled (but very polite) rep. She said she saw in the notes that a request was put in for a new phone but no answer yet. No surprise there. So she put me on hold and investigated the situation. She came back to say my request for a new phone was denied. Verizon wants to see what happens with this replacement and if I still have problems, I should call back and they will see what different approach can be taken.
She did mention that the person she spoke to wanted me to take the phone into my local store and let someone look at it, because perhaps my display problems are the result of an app I'm loading or something tied to my Gmail account? I told her, politely, that the display issues I'm experiencing are visible immediately when the phone is powered up, even before activation. I reiterated that Samsung is obviously NOT performing a "100-point inspection" on each device to refurbish and recertify them. They are most likely wiping the devices, calling it good, and sending them back to Verizon to send back to poor saps such as myself. I said I don't have a problem with trying one more certified like-new device, but I definitely want to take a different approach should this device prove to be problematic. She thanked me for understanding and being easy to work with. I told her that I'm not the type to kick/scream/yell/faint/burp/fart/die to get my way; I just don't want to be on my 9th replacement and still have problems. She assured me it won't get that far.
I also stressed to her that my current Nexus is perfect except for the one-way audio issue. I said if someone would simply acknowledge this is an issue and yes, it will be fixed in a future software release, I'd stop the replacement merry-go-round right now. It was Verizon who wanted to replace the device, not me. But I'm willing to bet anything that the phone I get today will have been manufactured around the same time my first three phones, which (theoretically) does me no good.
The 3rd replacement should be here today. I'll play nice and give it a try and see what happens. Everyone please wish me luck!

The one we go to actually will have movies on release date which is nice. We pay $20 for our carload (the family of five). Bring in pizza and grinders / hoagies / heros / subs or whatever they may be called in your neck of the woods. All our own drinks and just get snacks between movies. It's a nice night out with the family as the kids can play a little without disturbing others. I was surprised that each time we go the place is packed.
For those of you that have never been, I'd recommend finding one in your area. It really is a different experience than a theater.

I agree. Thought the Descendants was a great piece of work. Not really a movie the mass general audience will appreciate. My wife hated it, but I thought it was great.
Regarding the Oscars, your disappointments can be easily explained by the fact that the Academy is mostly comprised of elderly white men.
And AFAIK votes for particular awards come exclusively from the members in that division (so only FX people vote for the FX awards, actors for actors, etc.) except best picture.

+1 Drive-in theaters are great! Can stay in the car and relax or take a few lawn chairs (or if you have a truck just sit in the back), a cooler of your favorite bevarages, and like you said...a pizza/some subs/whatever and enjoy! The one near me usually has a double feature starting at dusk for around $15/car. Usually is a new release or one that released in the past month. They will play whatever is the most popular 2 movies in theaters at the time usually.

My daughter and I are going to watch Cars 2 this week. Borrowed it from the library. I haven't been to a drive-in in years. They're so much fun though.

I know right where you're talking about. My ex husband's best friend lived up that way and they pointed it out once.
@ Lucky - okay, I think you've seriously pissed off the Nexus gods. I hope somehow you can redeem yourself.
@ pupkact - that sounds like a super fun night out. The time we went, we considered hiding on of our friends in the back seat under a blanket to save on the tickets. Yeah, we were poor college students. It's always great to see a movie/concert and bring your own food/bevs. Hopefully we can finally make it to Wolf Trap this summer to see a show. Not too much has been announced so far, but I'm hoping Allison Krauss will come (she and Union Station come almost every year).
