Oh man Objective-C is quite the doozy. I wish I could practice/develop at work, but I think this is the way to go for now instead of trying to write the app in Appcelerator or PhoneGap. I'd rather learn something new anyway.
Anyone have experience with Objective-C / iOS development?

Have his kernel app (didn't care so much about it, but wanted to donate), looked for updates and it seems I'm just on a milestone build which confirms that it's only on his nightlies. Would you recommend them over the milestones?
Data is fine here.
Han, have you gotten into the tablet world? I got my TF Prime a few weeks ago and it's awesome (the docking station is great too). If I build up the strength today, I'll root it and put AOKP on it (think it may still be in beta, but they're working on it).

His latest nightlies have been pretty stable, and #89 is great so far. So you might want to try it and if you don't like it, you can always reflash the milestone build.
Haven't gotten the tablet yet. I almost bought the TF Prime, but I decided I want to wait a bit and see what Google comes out with. Latest rumors has them coming out with their own vanilla tablet some time this summer, but I'm not sure what the specs will be.
Believe it or not iPad 3 looked very appetizing, until my wife asked me to put a favorite mp3 as a ringtone for her iPhone. After an hour of tearing out my hair trying to use a song as a ringtone using iTunes, (finally succeeded) I remembered how much I hate Apple.

Yep, my wife brought home her boss's iPad (2 I think) to put some photos on it to show to clients. She was so fed up with iTunes she nearly threw the thing out the window! It's one thing I just couldn't deal with either. They certainly are great devices, I just think Android tabs have a lot more flexibility (and with ICS, a hell of a lot better than HC).
Also, I've had folks ask me to do some settings changes on their iPhone (given I'm the resident techie at work), and I really have no idea how to work those things!

Roman won't build a ROM from 4.0.4 yet because it was leaked by Google and then pulled back, so he's playing it safe. But DroidTh3ory, who's behind Crossbreed, has stabilized all issues as far as I can see. I was on AOKP from day 1 practically, but I've never had a better ROM than Crossbreed!
I just wish that someone would push out that HD Netflix app that will work with anything higher than 4.0.2.
I haven't had the time to do a ROM switch lately. I did try BAMF during the the Google Wallet fiasco and lost my prepaid card re-provisioning for two weeks. That sucked. As much as I would like to try Crossbreed I am wary of flashing a "GetReady" Package. I need to read his OP more in depth. Plus, no disrespect to DroidTheory, but I am not to hip on supporting a ROM that is, even while he gives credit and is probably even cool with Roman, so heavily based on the hard work of others. Just my 2¢…I am glad that you and others like it. And heck, maybe I am really missing out over some kind of ROM ethics issue, but I guess that's just me.
Anyone fill out their brackets yet? Who do you guys got winning? I'd love to see Carolina make it (they're my team), but they have arguably the hardest quadrant, with KU no less (shocked KU didn't get a first seed and Mich St did). Kentucky does have to route Duke though. Maybe I'll work on mine this afternoon.

I haven't filled mine out yet. I got stonewalled by the firewall at work this morning. I didn't follow closely this year, so I am going to throw darts to fill it out.

I always like to hear the different tactics people use to pick teams: go with rank, team color, favorite mascot, favorite city etc. I usually stay pretty conservative on my picks without too many upsets, but it never works out anyway Last year I think I had to tear it up by the time of the Sweet Sixteen

Good Morning friends!
The GetReady package is so that you can flash the radios and bootloader needed for 4.0.4.
But yeah, I hear you. I never know what goes on behind the scenes, if it's out and out stealing of mods, or if they sort of have an interflow between them. I just figure as long as no money is being handed over, I'm okay with it.
Haven't tried Wallet yet. Do many places accept them now?

There is a lot of tv talk here lately, lol, welcome back Hans! We have a different TV issue in our house. Our Big Screen is a 62 " DLP and we thought we had a bad bulb, but a new one at a cost of $150, didn't help. Been on the forums looking at solutions, looks like it is either the ballast or the light engine, both expensive, the light engine really expensive. For some strange reason we did get the bulb to come on two days ago, so we haven't turned it off since because of our Spring Break Company, lol. Now we are trying to decide between fixing (which could be an expensive guessing game) or buying a new one. This one is 8 years old but works great, when it works! We don't want another DLP, we have gone through 3 bulbs, are looking at LED, LCD or plasma. Anyone have any strong opinions? We want stay at least this size, it is a big room and is bright during the day.

Think plasmas are better the bigger you go, especially when you consider costs.

When I do any sort of bracket or pool its always by team colors.

Being on the coast, I'd recommend plasma. I heard it has issues if you are above a certain altitude (thousands of feet above sea level), but I'm not sure if that is old news.
But I have two tv's. They're both 42". One is LCD and one is plasma. I like the plasma the best by far. Colors seem more vibrant, and fast motion is smoother. Blacks are deeper. But that's just my opinion.

I have a 42" LCD (5yrs old) that I like a lot. It is getting ready to be moved to the family room as its time for a new one. I believe plasma / lcd are the best options right now.
I seem to remember when doing my research years ago that LCD weighed less and performed better where glare could be a problem but plasma had better / truer color. I'm not sure if this is still accurate (or if it ever was).

The glare thing is true. We have the Plasma in the living room, where we watch most of our tv, and I always have to turn out the lights behind us because the glare is terrible, especially for dark scenes. But I still like it better than LCD.
If you simply want the best. Do yourself a favor and go buy a full grid array LED tv with local dimming Warning, that gets expensive very quickly when you go big.
Ah, bracketology. I had a really good year once, had only 4 wrong going into the elite 8, But only got 3 of the last 7 games right. Of course it was the games my team (UofF) played in and won, so I didn't mind

I'm having my brother do my bracket for me this year -- I remember filling it out via Sports Illustrated a few years back, but haven't followed it for quite some time.
My brother is a huge sports buff so he does sports stuff for me and I do nerd/geek stuff for him. Our agreement works pretty well.
Stand off about 10 feet to the side of the TV. If you can still see the picture, it is a good TV for family viewing.
^^^Try this the next time you are in a store on different TVs and you will see what I am talking about.

I am humiliated, disappointed, disillusioned, etc. that my alma mater UCLA can't even find it's way to the arena, let alone the Big Dance. Oh the shame. When I was a boy...
Oh and who is looking forward to seeing Tebow walk the sidelines with a clipboard, while he watches Peyton lead the Broncos?

Isn't there some sort of metric to use to determine what size tv to purchase (screen size:distance from viewing)? Ours is a 32" and we sit barely 6' from the screen (tiny apartment) and I think it's about perfect.

No, no metric, only the following rule:
Always buy the biggest TV you can afford, and if you are willing to charge it and therefore buy more than you can afford, buy the biggest TV period.

TV TIP: Go LED and never look back. The contrast of the colors will astound you, not to mention the ease of replacing anything that goes wrong (it's just sections of LEDs which are cheap). They also are incredibly thin and reasonably priced. They are the only TV I will recommend to anyone that I know.

We will be going Samsung 46" LED...but that may be personal preference in our living room about 7ft away and to the side....good viewing and colors in our space...with afternoon sun on the TV, curtains are used to diffuse. Plus we have a large saltwater fish tank in the living room, so we have extraneous blue light that the TV will compete against.
I am relearning C and C++ too...
Good luck and hope everyone is having a good day!!

Yeah my next TV will be LED, they look great, and are quite thin, so I can mount it on the wall. But only when my existing TVs die, thankfully I don't have a TV bug like I do a phone bug.

Haha, my wife feels the same way about me. If I had the TV bug as bad as the phone bug, my wife would kill me. To top it off I've caught the gun bug lately, lol.

No chance you keep Tebow if you land Manning. He would suck as a backup, because he wouldn't be able to run Manning's offense if Manning goes down again.
I see you guys landing Manning, and shipping Tebow off to Jacksonville or Miami for a 2nd or 3rd round pick.
I just hope that the Bears change their cheapskate ways and pick up Vincent Jackson and/or Mario Williams.
Free agency hasn't been this good in I don't know how long!
Edit: Check that. I forgot your offensive line stinks. lol
Manning to Arizona!!

I agree 100% with that. The two are polar opposites as QBs and in order for either to succeed, you have to mold your offense around them. They aren't interchangable at all. Tebow needs a different type of receiver and a different type of linemen in front of him so he can run the read-option. Manning needs a plethora of receivers running precisely timed routes with a good pass blocking O-line.
Whoever ends up with Tebow has a good QB, they just need to mold the offense to his skillset and draft a good backup that can run the same offense. Plenty of those in college now, so you should be able to find a decent one even with a later round pick.
Afternoon all. I'm already sweating, it's just too damn hot out! Bout to turn the ac on, ugh (our 2nd floor apt faces west so we get all the afternoon sun/heat).
Trying to figure out what's going on in the city; we've had a very high amount of sirens going on and lots of helicopters circling. Nothing terribly new as I'm used to it in DC, but figured maybe something's up.
Was looking up the Bio of a music group, The Band Perry, and noticed they're from Mississippi. I knew there were a lot of musicians from there, but never realized how many and how many of them were so influential.

It's always fun finding out where bands are from. When I lived in Lawrence, KS, there were a ton of great local bands, and many venues for them to play there. Haven't discovered many locals in DC (though haven't looked that hard). I think the most famous are Duke Ellington (lots of jazz clubs here), Tori Amos, Dave Grohl, Fugazi. Looks like Wiki has a nice page just for it.

It's interesting, for a state with as few people as Mississippi there are so many musicians and so many of them were very influential. BB King, Ike Turner, Elvis Presley, Jimmy Buffet, Faith Hill, Tammy Winette, Conway Twitty, (hate to admit this one) Brittney Spears, Marty Stuart, Chris LeDoux, 3 Doors Down, Saving Abel, even Nate Dogg and Soulja Boy! lol
edit: source is Wikipedia so some may not be entirely accurate, I know most are though.
