I remember the ritual midnight rendezvous here on the forum hoping for an unannounced preorder.
Ahhhh, the memories of severe sleep deprivation.

We definitely need commemorate Dec 15th. BB has to resurrect some of her more famous avatars leading up to the date culminating with her "It's finally here" avatar.
I still have them all! I do need to back them up in case the computer they're on crashes. Its getting slower and slower. Won't complain though - it was free!

Good morning everyone!
Diggin that Ikea tv system. My wife was nearly horrified when I put up our surround sound system with having cables everywhere. I thought I did a pretty good job following window frames and floor molding wherever possible.
Plus that girl in the commercial is really cute; love that accent
Well, I don't think I'll make it down to the Nat'l Mall, but I'll at least get outside the apartment to see if I can spot the Space Shuttle. Should be around 10am this morning. I think they're supposed to fly as low as 1500 ft downtown so hopefully I have a good shot. For those who are bored, here's a feed to Dulles Airport. It should land ~10:45 est. http://www.nasa.gov/externalflash/discovery/index.html

I wish I could see that. I saw the news this morning and was in awe.
@Captain Ron - is that a pilot's dream or nightmare or a little of both? To have a historic flight like that?

Coming back from Denny's for breakfast just a little bit ago I get the train. There's a train chaser taking pics. I'll never understand these people? I repair, tear apart and rebuild these things and they know more about them then I do. New NAS and DMX playing in the background, turn volume down if you don't like.

Love the chalkboard font - that is really neat.
BTW what was the solution to have the View refresh on dropdown select?

This may not be the correct way to do it, but I set the string contained in the TextView equal to null at the beginning statement of my onItemSelectedListener method and use the append command to add new text.

That's not a bad way to do it - glad you got it all worked out.

Good Morning Gnexers!
Thanks to Stigy for posting the DL article about the SGSIII. But really:
64GB??? 1080P???
DO we really NEED that in a PHONE? I mean, I have all 6 Star Wars on my Nexus, various HD pics and videos I've shot, nearly 900 tracks on Google Music available offline... and STILL have 8 GB free. Sixty-four gigabytes?
This phone's likely gonna cost $600 SUBSIDIZED!
Plus, of course, Verizon's $30 upgrade fee... yeah, like Verizon's gonna pick it up on their network
That's not a bad way to do it - glad you got it all worked out.
Is the app going to be paid or free+ad supported?
For now I think I'll just go with a $0.99 price paid app only. I don't know if I could squeeze an ad in there on some devices and still have room for the 100 question chart. For that reason and the fact that teachers regularly pay $5 each for those E-Z Grader tools, I think $0.99 is a good price that almost any teacher would pay.
Stigy, that is a drop-dead GORGEOUS shot of Discovery! WOW!
<--- debating whether or not to use it as my desktop wallpaper
It was funny seeing all the folks that were taking shots with their phones. I took them with my Nexus, should have taken my Canon along. Twitter was full of posts of people complaining about all the crap Instagram shots taken and posted
Either way, it was a cool tidbit of history; something we're lucky to experience a lot of in DC.
That is C@@L. I recall the arcade game "Snake" at the YMCA in San Diego. I dare not think about how many dollars in quarters I dumped into that thing... and now it's free on my phone...
Thanks for the link!
EDIT: DL'd it to my Darling Bride's OG Droid and (of course) tested it out. Scored 86 out of the gate (on level 2, though... gotta set it easy for her ). My son was watching over my shoulder and exclaimed "Wow Dad, you're ballin' on this game! I would have lost a long time ago!"
"Ballin"? I guess that's a good thing...

Where is everyone today??
Hope all is well in Nexus world. Found out a good friend of ours finally rooted and put AOKP on his Nexus. He came from the OG and am glad for him. His girlfriend still has a 3GS and a Tab 10.1. She's really thinking of moving to Android from all the pushing I've put on her. She loves the idea of the Note but I've told her to wait at least until the One X is out. What are your thoughts comparing the two for a good fit to delve into Android?

I've said that if I was an at&t customer I would have the one x. That seems like an awesome device
