Speaking of the Sprint Nexus, since most of the GNex guides are in here, might I suggest we change the division of the GNex forum from Standard and Verizon to Standard and LTE? I think the sprint folks would get more use out of the Verizon thread than the GSM one.

How about dining out for steak? Give us your best opinion on chain restaurants for steak. I love Longhorn Steak House. Price is fair and steaks are very good. I have tried Ruth Chris and other Chop houses, but can't justify the price vs the taste. Anyone else have an opinion?

Chain I'd have to say Longhorn or Outback. But Ruth Chris for really special occasion (I believe that is where someone is taking me for my birthday ). Non chain there is a Spanish restaurant in town that makes such awesome skirt steak its sinful.

Good morning nexicans. I've had another bout with insomnia and been up since 3:30. I guess I'll take a nap this afternoon, but for now, I'm watching squirrels try to figure out how to outwit a squirrel proof bird feeder. They are tenacious little creatures.

I have partial insomnia, but my problem is falling asleep, not waking up.

Good morning, here at work. I did get a reprieve from tomorrow, my manager decided the task wasn't urgent enough, or big enough to justify having me work Sunday. I'm not too disappointed by being here though, because the task I am doing is above my job description, so it may be a little bit of a test for a supervisor position in the near future .

I'll just be frank and throw out that dining out for steak is kind of dumb. I mean, how hard is it to grill a steak? Buy a really nice cut, put some salt and pepper on it and grill it. Save yourself loads of money.
That said, I've only been to a couple of steakhouses in my life and the only thing that would get me back to one is a blooming onion at Outback, mmmmm.

I dunno, they always taste better at the restaurant for whatever reason. But yeah, I tried to do a blooming onion at home one time, disaster. Got to go out if you want that.

Onion Petals are just about as good at Logan's Roadhouse, but if I order a steak there I always specify NO SEASONING AT ALL. They absolutely kill a good steak with their seasoning... it's all you taste!

I find there's just enough seasoning residue on the grill to ever-so-lightly flavor the steak, and I can actually taste the meat.

Oh BTW Montreal Steak Seasoning is the bomb when used in moderation at home... Cavender's for everything else grilled

Dang people, it's breakfast time and we're still going on about STEAK! Now you people have me hungry...

Oh well, the conversation could be worse, I s'pose

Hey guys and gals. Since we're all talking food, I thought I might start a thread dedicated to it. Let's keep it as rowdy as this place!

Steak and eggs is a perfectly acceptable breakfast meal! As is chicken fried steak and country gravy.

Anyone else see that Sprint's Galaxy Nexus is shipping with 4.0.4? I don't care since I'm already on it, but a little peeved at Verizon.

Well I had chickfila for breakfast. I figure working on a Saturday I could splurge for a little something to make the day a little better.

Yep, that's the huge problem with fast food. It's always a "splurge" to make one feel better. Well documented in Supersize Me.

Yeah, I have an apple, light yogurt, and a turkey sandwich for lunch, plus I will take my usual 2.5 mile walk... So I'm OK.

Morning all...happy weekend/Saturday/work day to all.
Had good friends over last night for home made fajitas, Spanish rice and cookies-n-cream ice cream pie...oh and wine. Lots of wine...again!!
Today is work around the house day (read: honey-do list day...) and then out to dinner with friends for my favorite meal...sushi
Hope everyone has a productive weekend!!!

Dropped my GN from waist high onto a WalMart parking lot. It landed face down making a racket and the battery door came off ad the battery popped out.

I closed my 4 letter word emitting mouth and picked it up, With out looking at the screen I put it back together. I took a peek and not a scratch anywhere on the phone! Whew!

^ That's great to hear. Still haven't dropped my Nexus. Actually took it out of its case since I was tired of it. Little worried but we pay insurance anyway so no problem.

I like my bacon less than fully crispy as well. It's the best cut of meat in the world, if I wouldn't eat a filet well done, why would I eat bacon that way?

Morning! I woke up, thinking it's early in the morning. Maybe 7 something....and looked at my clock and it's really 11! I definitely didn't think I slept in that late. ATM, I am refusing to get out of bed and put clothes on. I <3 lazy Saturdays.

Oh, that sounds yummy! So, what's an ice cream pie?

Count all of your lucky stars that she's fine! For me, after my first drop, I become more careless with my phone.

Friggin' Verizon. First they put Verizon apps on it, then they TRY to block Wallet, now they're stonewalling 4.0.4

What next, VZW? Oh yeah: $30 upgrade fees and family data plans. And they probably won't pick up the SGS3, either! GRRRR

Give cinnamon with ground coffee a shot. We did an espresso rubbed steak salad at another restaurant I worked at. It was a hit. A little dated trend wise, but still popular.
Also, feel free to give my foodies thread a shot for food stuff .

I'm assuming "much room" is mushroom, and that sounds DIVINE...except with feta cheese instead of shredded cheese. And non crispy bacon is an atrocity.

Exactly. Bacon is supposed to CRUNCH.

A filet is beef...bacon is pork. Beef is meant to be eaten nearly raw...pork, not so much. Trichinosis, anyone?

Crunchy bacon is an atrocity. Crisp edges with a firm but slightly chewy texture. Bacon is smoked and cured, so the need to cook is the same as beef
