Yikes, very bad Stigy, lol. I would have been screaming for new tires about 10,000 miles ago, haha

I know I couldn't believe it when I took them off. Last time I drove in the rain I knew something was up because I barely had traction and it was quite scary. I felt so bad for anyone that I put in my car with me since they got like that, but now I will never let that happen again.

Next winter they will be getting winter-biased all seasons or some Blizzaks. But until October/November these stay on. So stoked to have the wheels on even though I am losing air.

You recommend those? I need some 205/55/16 for the winter wheels although I may just get similar to my stock tires since my two front wheels have a ton of tread left on them.

That's only an ANNUAL craving? That's a DAILY craving for me (although, fortunately, I don't give in to it daily.)

Always heard great things about them although I never popped the money for 'em. I had good luck with Kumho Ecsta ASX and Continental ExtremeContact DWS. Keep in mind we don't get a lot of snow here though. They are all season and are supposed to do ok in the snow though. Both were great in the rain.

Edit: Best tires I've ever owned were BF Goodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2. Loud, but gripped like none other wet or dry.

Stigy, wheels look amazing, sorry they are giving you a fit. We had a small dent in a rim, held air, but casued the tires to Cup and now they are very loud inside the car running down the road . On our truck, when we need tires we look for someone who is upgrading their rims to a larger size and selling their old rims with their almost new tires for much less than we can buy tires. Gotta love Craigslist to find them and the military bases within two hours that have lots of young men, changing out their rims and tires

I eat junk food on a regular basis but it's usually not more than 200cal/day. Right now I want to eat ALL of the junk food I have at the office :<
It's more of a mental/visual craving. I've gone out and bought 5 normal size bags of chips and a dozen chocolate bars. I would open everything...take a bite here and there and I'll be sick of sweets and chips and thus end my craving, lol.

Default PSA from the Chief

Hey folks, while we're talking tires and stuff:

Have you ever driven down the interstate and seen those long strips of what looks like perfectly good tread that has somehow just "peeled" off the tire? If that happens to your front tire at 70 MPH, the results could be catastrophic.

If you haven't seen this video (and/or don't know the information contained therein), then PLEASE take a few minutes to watch it and pass it on. The life it saves could be yours (or that of someone you love)!

Aged Tires: A Driving Hazard? | Video - ABC News

Recently discovered this site
Hipmunk: Better Flight Search and Hotel Booking
It aggregates all the airlines and the cheap fares engines and lays out the schedules in a much more sensible way. I found that it finds flights that are not even on Expedia or Travelocity too.

The other day I had an app show up on my phone called ' Apps and Games'. Today I had a green + sign show up in the notification tab saying I had a missed call with a bunch of mumbo jumbo after it. I didn't touch it, just deleted it. Has anyone else seen or heard of these two things?

That's absolutely on my bucket list of things to do. I've driven up some of the west coast, but I'd love to do a long road trip like you're proposing.

I had this before, it was an ad, download airpush detector and it will tell you which app is doing it then you can delete or modify that app. If rooted , you can install Adfree and it will stop it from happening in the future.

I'm hoping I can convince her to do it. I want to do it before we have kids because I know they'll hate it. She wants to go to the beach, but I'm thinking there will be plenty of years to go to the beach after we have kids. That's probably all we'll do for vacation after that. Plus this trip is all beach....1,200 miles of it, lol!

Beach with kids is NOT the same. There is no relaxing with kids until they have worn themselves out and by that point the parents need a nap too.
I'd say you do some research and find at least one stop with a beach and other stops that will appeal to her. You're not gonna win if you don't. IMHO anyway.

Oh I know it isn't the same, but I really don't like the beach and I'd be more than happy to do whatever with kids while mom goes to the beach/pool area. I abhor laying out.

I'd definitely find a beach along the way to get some beach time in. Probably will have to be more than a 7 day trip, but I think we could swing it.

Best Beaches of California - California Beach Guide

Great beaches exist from San Diego through Malibu (even some "clothes-free" zones from what I hear )

I've done the Canada to LA run, which can be done in 2-3 days if speeding. But I suggest a leisurely pace, the scenery is amazingly beautiful and runs from beach to chaparral to cliffs to rain forest. If you book it now, you could end up at the Sasquatch Music Festival over Memorial Day in Oregon. Tons of wineries the full way, and I also understand that there are some, um, "herbal" areas of NorCal that are of interest to some folks.

Would never get the wife to visit one of those "clothes-free" zones. Stayed at a resort with one of those zones sectioned off in Jamaica and I just couldn't talk her into going to it, lol. Honestly don't know if I would have either though, lol

So the company that shipped the wheels is going to do it free of charge for me - I just need to ship the wheel back to them!

Phases is talking about reworking the GNex forums, I'm pretty stoked about that.

I know they own Bugatti, but IHateMyTreo may be right about Lambo too, not quite sure, but it does ring a bell.

Yeah, I meant in addition, although I'm not sure on Lambo, never heard that before, but not saying it's not true. Lambo is Italian while VW is German. Just looked up to confirm, they are owned by the VW Group.

It was recited in the linked story from CBS. News to me but wow, that's an odd match.

And Stigy, nice wheels on the Lambo!

Well I only need to ship one back. Basically they put it on a machine and it makes the wheel circular again where the tire seats to the wheel. Shipping one wheel is like $25 and they're paying shipping back to me so not horrible at all.

Got local quotes and they want $125 to do it. No thanks.
