Done...I have a caveat you might want to consider for this survey though. I wouldn't be willing to spend a dime on my heating/cooling system until it breaks with the exception of maintenance. Now when I build a home and get input on what type of system I put in the home, all of those answers become different. Where I wouldn't be willing to spend $1,000 to upgrade my system now, I would be willing to spend $4,000-$5,000 more on a system for the options you described in the survey.
So, how long till we see cell phones similar to the one used by Mr. Stark?
Granted it'll be virtually impossible to have a frame that thin with all the phone being transparent, but I could see something similar to the Galaxy Nexus in size with the areas above and below the screen being the only parts that are opaque and the rest transparent. Many advancements in the size of components need to be made as well as major leaps in battery tech, but I think it can be done. There's already tech out there for transparent batteries. I don't think it'll be possible to have transparent speakers, connectors, wires/conductor traces/circuit boards, processors, etc. but I think the bulk of the phone could possibly be made transparent one day.

haha, that would be cool...but I don't think it would be fully transparent.
We already have transparent batteries???

The technology is out there and prototypes have been made. Also there is technology out for transparent OLED screens as well. If they make some strides in the battery tech (right now the transparent ones have about half the capacity of normal ones...so I've read) then we could conceivably have all of the electronics contained in the top or bottom (or split between top and bottom) with all the circuit traces/conductors running along the edge between top and bottom and the transparent OLED and battery stacked on top of each other with a transparent insulator between the two to keep the heat from affecting the screen.
Hey everyone! Crazy day, I see its almost 4 pm and I haven't checked in here yet. Going to catch back up on what I missed, but hope everyone had a good weekend.

Myself, two stepsons, Evan, 2 cousins, sister in law and father in law are all in July. And my anniversary and my parents anniversary too. We just put up a tree and have Christmas in July. But we have Lobsters & Steamers instead.

I'm a May baby too. A cusp baby really - depending on what horoscope you look at I'm either Taurus or Gemini. I do tend more towards the Taurus side though.

Geez, all of you are "young uns". At 42, I feel ancient in here! Okay, not really...I don't act my age, which successfully prevents me from feeling my age.

I am the cusp! Wife is May 26, so barely cusping Taurus...she is true Gem. I am more of the Cancer side of things, though I drift into Gem every now and then.

I may just be turning 30 this year but I have the knees of a 40 year old...no joke! I have no PCL in my left knee which has nagging ACL issues. My right knee has seen one surgery, at age 7, and is prone to a displaced kneecap. That's what hockey and rugby, along with being hit by a car, will do to you. I also played baseball like a football player (read: lots of collisions)!

Does anyone know how to organize folders in the gallery by putting the pics in an order you want rather than alphabetical or by type or date? I want to order the pictures in a logical manner that lets me show them in a certain order. Thanks!

Well I lost the battle to the chocolate-craving-fat-chick that inhabits my body. She picked a good fight to win though. Dunkin Donuts has a Cocoa Creme donut out for MIB3 and its divine.

Anyone who saw it did you stay for clips after the end?
A weekend take of almost $208 million. A record breaking Saturday and Sunday. $655 million take world wide. I hope this takes over Avatar.
Hope so too. Avatar was good, but just not as entertaining.
Excited to see how Dark Knight Rises does though. I think they'll likely be neck and neck. Wife is really looking forward to Prometheus.

Yeah, I'm sure your knees are as crunchy (or crunchier) than mine going up and down stairs.

What? You have a chocolate-craving-fat-chick that inhabits your body too? Holy s***balls, Batman...they're taking over the world. I quit fighting her, she may be fat, but she's stealth, and she can kick my edamame-eating-good-girl's a$$ with a ho ho in each hand.

I am seriously thinking about dropping my Xoom for the iPad 3. I don't even tinker with my Xoom, I got it to tinker with, you know, hack, root and so on, but it turned out to not be what I thought it was. Changing roms is a PITA, uploading my photos is a PITA, it don't even support raw files!? Photography and weather is the big things for me, but the tablet just sits around. I still have a camera connection kit from my original iPad that should work with it. The high resolution graphics is another reason which falls back on the photography weather thing.
What I am getting at is, I am paying for 4g service on the Xoom which rarely leaves the house with me any more. It will cost me 300 bucks to terminate the contract, (the device is not worth 300 bucks ) and if I want to upgrade to a new device, I got to pay full price. About 600 bucks. A rock and a hard place.
My thoughts where to upgrade this aging Xoom to an iPad 3 with 4g

Thoughts?
I can't wait until I get an Android tablet. I am waiting for the TF300 to be released in red this summer, then I am getting rid of my iPad2. I do love my iPad (I am in fact typing this post on it), but I am ready to move to an Android tablet.
I won't ever get a tablet with a data plan though. If I need data and there is no wifi I just tether because I don't want to be locked into something on a tablet. It really puts you in a hard spot. When it comes to tablets I look at it like a computer and expect to spend $400-500 at least.
I personally wouldn't get an iPad 3. Other than the display it isn't much of an upgrade. If I really wanted to buy an iPad right now I would either get a refurbished iPad 2 or a used one (eBay usually since there is at least buyer protection with PayPal) from someone who just upgraded to the new iPad.
I wonder if it would be better to chuck my ancient droid x which can't even run tweet caster and add a second tablet.
At least with the iPad 3 its a month to month and I can stop and start as I need the service (I think if I upgrade at full price? - need to consult big red)
The biggest issue I have is with my own content and iTunes. I removed my old drive (wonder if I can put it back in the right slot, LOL) and see if that solves the issue but my computer is being stupid now too. Only time I really use my big PC (windows 7) is while editing photos, but my mouse curser keeps spinning and I keep getting memory errors and crap whilst playing some videos in WMP.
That 700 bones could buy me another PC. Aurgh.... more research

Yes the iPad is month to month (or less than a month if you get to your data cap sooner)

I actually went with AT&T for my iPad. At the time I got it BigRed was screwing around with plans and AT&T was cut and dry with no ifs, ands, buts or oops-we-forgot-to-mentions.

I am now thinking perhaps I should just replace my desktop PC, well, my 13" macbook pro
Confused? Yeah. My desktop is giving me problems, my macbook pro 13" gets a lot of use, but it don't have enough power to do what my desktop can. My 13" MBP was an experiment actually so here is what I am thinking (I should have got the 15" all the long)
My mom recently got into photography, her laptop is so old it barely works. The battery is toast. Its giving her fits and with it being windows, it needs a baby sitter - she is not computer savvy, so, I think I may give her my 13" MBP and get my 15" quad core i7 beast which would even give my desktop a run for its money. My desktop would be used for pretty much "legacy" stuff and would probably be shoved into a spare room until I can slowly get my raw files archived off of it unto a external HDD and once that is done, it will be replaced with the macbook pro since the dang tower takes up a LOT of space and eats up some power.

I'm looking forward to seeing it. In our little town the theater can barely handle those new fangled "talkies" so I'm waiting to see it in a nice theater in Portland this weekend.
My daughter is home from college for the summer so she's joining me on my Portland to Amsterdam trip this weekend. She wants to see tulips and the Red Light District. I'll agree to that, but I draw the line at the "coffee shops" in Amsterdam.
(For those of you who don't know, the coffee shops there are not like Starbucks. In Amsterdam you can drink coffee and smoke marijuana in their coffee shops.)

Can I be your daughter for the weekend? Or probably more like your sister...either way, I've always wanted to go to Amsterdam.

ajdroidx, have you played with a Transformer Prime? It really is a beautiful tablet. I know what you mean about your Xoom (sort of). We used to have a Galaxy Tab 10.1 and it was a POS. Laggy, slow, stuttery and at times, useless. The Prime is just so refreshing. Whether it is the Tegra 3, ICS, the keyboard, or the whole package, I love it. If you need data service, wait until VZW picks up a variant of it (Infinity perhaps?).
So for the most part I limit myself to Android information here, as I am not a big fan of certain other popular places due to the atmosphere. But I was getting desperate as my Iconia still had not gotten the ICS upgrade. So anyways, I went there, and sure enough, I was supposed to download an app first. All this time, don't I feel stupid this morning. Oh well, tonight I finally get ICS on my tab. Only because its almost 400MB and on my connection, would take 8 hours to download. Perhaps at lunch I will go outside and sit in my car with 4G.

Guess that makes this household in "older" group but you would be hard pressed to guess it if you met us. So Chief, if 60 is the new 40, what does that make are friends that are 24 and 31?

Upgraded Ubuntu last night and upon rebooting, the mouse and keyboard are no longer functioning. Strange thing is that they, well at least the keyboard, function in the bootloader to select either Ubuntu or Windows 7.
