I think that one of the comments I heard on TV made a very good point - we have placed so much sexual innuendo on breasts that their original use has become something taboo to do outside your own home. I don't think a woman should just pull them out in the middle of a park but for feeding purposes, if done in a respectful manner, should not be cause for a media circus.

I've heard of, and know, people that have children old enough to ask for it and gain access unassisted. It's a little comical, but they feel like they are doing what is best. Personally, I think it could cause some psychological issues.
I'm a little late on the Time article, but all I can say is, as a mother who breastfed, I could not even consider doing so once a) the child has teeth or at the very least b) is old enough to ask for it/get it him/herself. For me, the issue is more one of creating in the child a continued sense of dependency on the mother. What other animals continue feeding their young on an extended basis, once they are capable of feeding themselves? While I try not to judge people who choose to nurse into toddlerhood, I do believe that our job as parents is to foster a sense of dependency in our kids to prepare them for the cold cruel world, and I have to wonder if they do it for health benefits, or if it's an attachment/control/dependency-co-dependency thing.

I see some users leaving Apple over this. Everyone is familiar with Google Maps now and Google is adding a ton of new features like the indoor mapping schemes of airports and malls. With Android also offering free navigation powered by Google Maps and Apple still left in the dust in that category, and now switching mapping companies all-together, it could hurt them. However, saw this coming when they announced that acquisition a while back. Just a matter of time.

As long as I can still access google maps on my iPad from the browser then I'll be happy. And I don't have any intention of switching to a new map system that is untried. Let's just hope its better than something like MapQuest.

I agree. And the bulk of Apple users that I know aren't even aware that they are already left in the technological dust (with Android offering turn by turn voice navigation). Those who take the time to educate themselves once they learn they will no longer have access to Google Maps may just flip to the dark side.

Do we have to tell them beforehand we lied about having cookies?
Thoughts? Anyone know of a good place to buy records online? Am I better off at a local shop?

Yeah....I have a slight problem with liking technology and manage to convince others to help feed that problem.
Nonsense, you love your family and friends so much you are willing to give them the gift of Android, AND help them by keeping yourself up to date on their devices.

We have a functioning 1929 Victrola that plays 78s and they sound so warm, so full and robust... no comparison to the cold bitstream of modern digital music.
From your post I guess you're looking for 33-1/3 LPs, though. Thrift stores and yard sales are a great place to find gems on the cheap. We have to hunt a little more for old 78s, though...
Took me longer than I'll care to admit, but I think I got it. Is this right, halon?
From left to right:
Yellow House: Norwegian, Cats, Water, Dunhill
Blue House: Dane, Horses, Tea, Blends
Red House: Brit, Birds, Milk, Pall Mall
Green House: German, Fish, Coffee, Prince
White House: Swede, Dogs, Beer, Blue Master
Answer: German

Yeah probably end up getting most 33-1/3s but just to get away from the digital. I think it'd be cool to just get home from work and put a record on - sounds so relaxing even if it happens to be upbeat music. Would be cool for when I have a family and stuff - blow my kids minds.

Same here. My husband wouldn't have a cell phone at all if it weren't for me, much less a smart phone. (He did flee to the iPhone, though...he couldn't handle Android. Too much for him.)
On another note, anyone remember Quiet Riot? They're playing at a small venue near me tonight, so we're going to go check 'em out. I think it's only the drummer from the original line up (I know the singer died some time back, not sure where the rest are.) I do love me some 80's rock. Don't judge.

Well, I am sitting here (procrastinating (its what this introvert does)) getting ready to backup a few documents that I have on my 13" macbook pro then to gather the information and tools I need to restore this puppy to factory settings. Its getting a new home.
The 13" is just not enough for me. My desktop is in the way and having issues so I decided to change things up and get the computer I should have got in the first place. But, this little 13" MBP was just an experiment. It has almost replaced my desktop, but I need more power for some things like photo and HD video editing. So I pulled the trigger on the 13" bigger brother. The 15" base model MBP. I decided the high end 15" was overkill and I could use the 400 bucks on a new external drive and some ram which will help with the photo and video editing.
This little 13" MBP I am typing on now, well, Im going to give it to my mom for mothers day
The 15" MBP will likely, for the most part, replace my desktop. 2.2ghz vs 2.8 I am running now. 600mhz difference and a newer CPU. I may dual boot with windows 7 and heck, I may even be able to use the 64 bit version.
I think I will use an external firewire dock and stash most of my data on those and leave the internal drive for the programs and OS.

Evening everyone!
I've been running really well on Liquid 1.35. Haven't had too many problems with Rhapsody which was my main sticking point before. Couple tweaks I miss from AOKP but I'll stick with this for a bit.

Come on feel the noise...
I actually sat and had lunch with them almost 20 years ago. Kind of a weird run in. They were already one and done and stopped at an inn in PA I was working at. They were playing a county fair in the area, their tour bus placard said No1UKnow.

Beat this destructive daughter story:
About 15 years ago I had a white Honda Civic with a dented front bumper. I ordered a new bumper online and it came in... flat black plastic.
I took my time and carefully painted the bumper white. Let it dry. Did it again. It took days. Daughter "helped" me install it by watching and handing me the right screwdriver when I needed it.
I went inside to get a couple of cold drinks for us. BIG MISTAKE.
When I came back out, the new front bumper was still in place, BUT: her name was proudly and prominently etched into the bumper, all the way across it.
I was ballistic... and she cried because I wasn't "proud" of her work. I couldn't STAY mad, of course. I hugged her and reassured her that she had done a great job spelling her name correctly. And her name rode with me every day until I sold the car years later... and I sold it with her name still on it.

TiBu don't ever do system data. Its a surefire way to get frustrated. I always backup user apps and data. Some people just do the apps. You have to see which works best for you. I have a schedule set in TiBu that does my apps, then any new apps and another for any changes I've made to any. I only tell you those so you have am idea of what it can do. Once Liquid is flashed and up then you can go into TiBu and restore user apps and data or just user apps. Some people occasionally have problems restoring data. I haven't run into that yet.
