What's the deal with these comments that pop up once in awhile about discussing what we are wearing on dates?

Gotcha Chief. For the custom ROMs, I mainly just wanted my search button back along with setting up the notification bar to my liking. ICS has done a lot for Android, so I'm not running much to ruin it.

Except that he reads the thread too so for me to post would mean he gets a sneak peek before landing on Friday.

The storm finally stopped here and we were watching an action movie with sirens in it when I felt the house shake and realized it was fire trucks going down the beach to a neighbors house. By the time we got down the block, it was fully engulfed, five fire trucks, both from our town and surrounding communities. We are surrounded by a lot of vacation summer homes and season starts here in two weeks, we think the house was unoccupied. In another two weeks our sleepy little island will be full of tourists and by then every beach house will be occupied. Count your blessings, say some prayers that everyone is safe.

Good Morning all. Copacetic, sounds like a crazy night. Hopefully it was just property lost. I imagine the storms you had were an extension of the line that went through me too, they were definitely nasty.

Morning everyone. Still raining like crazy here and all through the night. No thunder and lightening though. Have my dentist appointment today and then not much else to do. Probably just spend this rainy day on here!

I use app extractor pro for all my backup needs as it extracts from my nandroid, which I do before I try anything that will bork my phone. I also use SMS Backup+ free in the market to backup to my GMail account, but that doesn't restore MMS very well. But I like being able to read message threads online and be able to print them out easily if necessary.

Goooood morning all. Crappy weather here today and its hot in the office, which sucks but oh well.

Started reading the Harry Potter books on my Playbook. I've seen all the movies, but never read any of the books so its funny seeing what they left out of the movies as you read the books. The Playbook is definitely a nice little tablet for reading, love the size of it (that's what she said).

Finished a puzzle with my girlfriend last night - we gotta glue it together and frame it. It was pretty sweet (see below).

Do you find SMS Backup kills some battery or its not noticeable? I used to use it but felt it was eating away at my battery when it backed up my messages. I'd love to start using it again to keep an archive.

I'll have to check your photo on my phone in a bit.

I haven't noticed any particular battery drain, but I also don't have dozens of messages a day like my step son (average 5k per month between send/receive).

Good morning everyone!

I use BackUp to Gmail. I haven't had to restore any thing yet but it saves SMS and MMS right to your Gmail folders. It will also do call logs.

Morning everyone! Still drizzly and overcast here, but at least it's warm. (Well...outside it's warm. In my office, it's like the Arctic Circle.)

For those that remember Capta that I shared a few months back, they company has come up with a new Kickstarter and this one is much cheaper in a smaller package. Hook it onto your keys to have something always with you to hold your phone up - I already backed it. Gonna keep one at work and one at my desk at home.

I'm going to check out the new kickstarter - thanks for the tip!

And I don't notice any battery drain from it. I had originally started using it because it backed up the actual pics in the MMS rather than just text like some apps had done.

I think it depends on your situation. If you're an Asian man, it's less stigmatized as you're expected to live at home until you're married.

I prefer the HP books to the movies. I couldn't stand some of the actors in the first few movies.

Cool puzzle You should definitely frame that!

I have always loved the service for phones on Verizon, but their billing is killing me. I keep getting these outrageous bills and every time they call they explain and it comes down to I OWE. I'm at a loss. I pay for unlimited. I pay for my moms phone. Those 2 should be around $120. My sister sends me her share. And I'm left with a ridiculous amount, at least $100 more than it should be. Yet somehow they are able to explain it. FML.

Nope. Uh, Halon, please edit your post and delete the second picture. First pic is awesome, though! But I'd hate to see a Mod bust in here and start infracting...

Thanks

Verizon can't even get my last name right. No matter how many times I change it, they keep using my last name from before I got married...almost SEVEN YEARS AGO! Thank goodness their service is better than their systems.

They can't even get a change of address right. I've changed it by mail, internet, and phone. They still screw it up.

Sorry about the picture. I have morals but I don't take life seriously. Nothing offends and I forget, sometimes, everyone isn't like me. So if I offended you, sorry.

Now back to your regularly scheduled programming

Not having your typical lunch today. Brown sugar and cinnamon oats and a bowl of freshly cut fruit.

No worries. I'm open to any and all things not necessarily family friendly, so I'm rarely offended by anything .
We just like to keep AF a bit more directed to the fam friendly atmosphere so it doesn't become like some of those other forums.

I wasn't necessarily offended, was thinking more along the lines of the younger ones that might happen across it.

Evan is often on my lap when I am on in the evenings. Hide tags and a "NSFW" also helps for stuff that isn't bad but may not be for all audiences.

Lunch was fried rice.

Lunch... I have the same thing for breakfast and for lunch every day at work. Gets so old, but I am basically a zombie while getting ready, and any thought on my part to grab something other than the usual is lacking. On the bright side, it is fairly healthy.

Banana and Nutrigrain Bar for breakfast, Yogurt, Apple, and Sandwich for lunch. Very lowfat diet.

Best of luck with that, Stigy!

Next topic:

You know, now that I have a Galaxy Nexus, I guess I'm genuinely spoiled. First the Galaxy S3 came out with lackluster specs, and now this:

HTC and Verizon announce the HTC DROID Incredible 4G LTE

WOW! An Incredible 4G! Woo hoo, right? Nah.

The specs include 1GB RAM, a 4" qhD screen, only a 1700 maH battery, and *GASP* NFC.

Big whopping deal to me. Not impressed... are you?

Breakdast was greek yogurt with granola. Lunch was Cup of Salt (aka Cup of Noodles) and some triscuits.

The Incredible 4G is probably a good phone. I loved my Dinc and really have a soft spot for HTC. It doesn't impress me but I'd consider it if I needed a phone.

Not impressed by any of the new phones coming out here lately. They either barely make it up to GNex specs or just one-up it with the processor. Yet to see anything that makes me think..."Now that's a phone!" like the Nexus did.

Same here.

Remember in the pre-release thread everyone that was gnashing their teeth, saying the GNex being delayed meant it would be spanked just a few months after release?

Well it is the VZW's GNex 5 month birthday TODAY (queue the singing) and there is nothing that much better out or announced. Furthermore not many phones even have ICS yet other than ours. Definitely think we made the right decision on a phone.
