Evening All! I spent several hours working on the Transformer because the Browser was hanging up. I tried restarting the modem and router with no luck (it runs on wifi). I was getting ready to do a factory reset when I decided to go online and see if my router had a firmware upgrade. It did,I applied it, now the tablet is flying. The WEIRD thing is, my laptop and the Nexie were running fine on the router as it was, so I had wrongly assumed the issue was the tablet itself. Moral of the story, check your router for upgrades occasionally. Lol
Anyone watch Jeopardy last night? This was final Jeopardy (answer hidden):
Final Jeopardy for May 30, 2012
Category: Presidential Resting Places
Only 3 sites have the remains of 2 presidents: 1 at Quincy, Massachusetts, 1 at Arlington & 1 in this state capital
What is ______________?
Richmond, VA
I shouted it out almost instantly. None of the folks got it. I'm honestly horrible at Jeopardy (wife is really good), and just stunned no one got it.
Their guesses (also hidden):
This is absolutely hilarious. These two stores are just a couple hundred yards down the street from each other in the town I went to college at. The first one is a coffee house (Strange Brew...I hear they have some amazing blends but I'm not a coffee drinker...also known for their random sayings on their sign) and the second is a store that sells all things branded Mississippi State...tailgating stuff, shirts, hats, etc (The Lodge). To really understand it you need to have heard the song Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepsen.

These in reference to the Cam Newton scandal where Cam and his father, Cecil, allegedly told Mississippi State that Cam would go there and play football for them for $180,000. MSU told them no and the next week he signed with Auburn. A year later they win the national championship, Cam wins the Heisman, and all the allegations come out about the alleged proposal.
This one was put up when Les Miles and LSU came to town to play us. Poking fun at Les Miles for his incident where he was caught on live TV picking up a few grass blades and eating them.

Anyone else seeing strange behavior with their nexus batteries? I got two extended batteries and Mine needs charged pretty much TWICE a day. Once before I go to work and once when I get home just to keep my phone from draining and powering off. Even sitting alone it will often be warm even if I close all recent apps.
Screen eating 44%
Idle: 18%
standby 14%
are the main ones. a little over 12 hours and my battery is at like 12% and tanking quick.
This was going on before I flashed the rom.

I would suggest flashing LeanKernel 3.4. I had the same issue as you on a few kernels. However, what is your screen on time? I usually don't get over 12 hours of battery life if I have much over 1 and a half hours of screen on. For example. Right now I'm at 29% battery and 8 hours 40 minutes off the charger. 1.5 hours of screen on time at 44% screen usage.
The Following User Says Thank You to MSUgEEk For This Useful Post:
Can I flash a kernel on top of liquid 1.4? Or do I need to so something special? I am assuming Liquid is nothing more then a skin running on top of the existing kernel.

Yeah, you just download the appropriate kernel and flash it in CWM like you did your ROM. Wipe Dalvik Cache when you flash any new kernel though.
Good luck Aj. And, if you have a couple bucks to spare, Franco's kernel app is great for quick flashing of new kernels. You can choose his or Leans and it downloads and autoflashes in one fell swoop.
Morning everyone!

Morning svt and dread. Well I did my first ever factory reset last night, flashing the IMM76K rom from DL. Broke root, so had to figure that out, and TiBu for the first time too. Very educational evening for me. one weird thing, the signal meter doesn't turn blue anymore... Wonder why that is...

Anti, are you still a data connection? Is the meter there but grayed out?
Yeah, its connected, and I am getting data fine. Also the up- and downloading arrows are still showing up.. its just that the meter is gray instead of blue...

Good morning Gnexers!
It's Friday!
It's raining! No need to go out and water the plants!
It's PAYDAY! The Eagle pooped for me!
It's June! Let summer begin! Well, for some people anyway
It's a great day to unlock & root my phone!
I found an online, step-by-step tutorial for Wug's Root Toolkit. I'm offloading the last of my data, then I'll use it to install drivers & the SDK, then backup my app data, then UNLOCK, root, install CWM, and flash AOKP & Gapps.
Hopefully I'll see you on the other side - and if you see a post with "HELP!" in big, bold letters, you'll know something has run amiss (which I do not expect to happen).

Goooooooooood morning all and Happy Friday!
For the past year I have been taking a free bus provided by the NY Waterway and then taking the train from the ferry station to work. Its the easiest and most convenient way for me to get to work. This morning I am told because I am taking the train from the ferry terminal and not the ferry itself that I cannot take the bus anymore. I asked him to just let me take it today and he would never see me again, but he wasn't having any of it. He mumbled something nasty in Spanish to his friend and that set me off. I swore at him (which I don't usually do) and stormed off the bus and told him that I've been taking it for a year and never had this problem. Just wanted to let him know that I've been doing it for a year and now they're finally saying something. It felt pretty awesome to tell someone off first thing on a Friday morning - just really frustrating me. So for the next month I have to walk down this horribly steep hill to get to the other bus that ends up at the ferry terminal - just glad my train monthly pass allows for one "zone" on the bus. I understand it was probably not the right thing to do, but a bunch of people did it and I granted since I am not taking their ferry, technically, I am not entitled to the bus - before anyone calls me out on that part.
Anyway, on to some Instagram pictures. Enjoyed this last night - a growler of a Saison from Harpoon, never bottled only brewed/served at the brewery. AND a picture of NYC this morning.

No more work weekends for at least 3 and half months! Damn right today is a good day! Nephew is staying with me this weekend. Hopefully the rain allows an Altoona Curve(Pirates affiliate) game tonight. Tomorrow, probably Indian Cavrans and some hiking. And at some point, maybe MiB 3?
Installed 4.0.4 myself. Everything seems fine. Screen is eating up around 50% of power though.

Well, I got my adb and fastboot drivers installed, and did the app + data backup. Next step is the unlock: and I am at a standstill. Not because I'm scared, mind you... it's because the technologically-impaired but financially paranoid Darling Bride wants me to make sure that both vehicles are topped off before I wipe Google Wallet. And one of them is due out of the shop this morning.
I do not expect to lose the money that's on it after I root & ROM (AOKP 37 is my poison of choice for a first ROM), but she just wants to make sure we've spent what we can before the wipe.
Wanting to keep wifey happy, I will comply and wait for the call from the mechanic...

What are you doing in TN and where are you?
Passing through on 40, don't worry, hubby is driving :} on our way to Dallas for my nieces graduation. Just drove out of torrential rain, coming up on Monterrey, sun is trying to pop out.
