Morn Anti. Not much planned for us. I HAVE to get a new dresser as mine is literally in pieces .
Also, I think we'll see Prometheus and see what all the secretive hulabaloo is all about.

Morning! What time shall we all be there for dinner? Busy weekend on tap here. Graduation party tomorrow for my foster daughter and my best friends two kids who graduated last night. Then Saturday, my friend and I are taking the kids down to Myrtle Beach for beach week and staying overnight, coming home on Sunday. Yes, I am fully aware that it sounds over-protective and completely "uncool" for parents to drive their kids to beach week. However, a) our kids actually WANT us to come, and b) neither of us have complete confidence in the ability of either of the girls to drive that far and arrive at their destination in one piece.

Congrats to your foster daughter. I'm on vacation next week for the final push in the yard. My step son, Ryan's' graduation party is a week from Saturday.

Gooooood morning and happy Friday eve. This week went by super fast - so glad tomorrow is Friday.

Probably just hanging around NJ this weekend - nothing terribly exciting. Did a lot of packing for the new apartment yesterday. Made a lot of progress - just need to start taking some more furniture apart, but it seems a bit early to do that so we're gonna wait til the beginning of next week to do so.

Also - go Devils! One game at a time.

Good morning all! I'm pleased to report that ALL of my backups ran successfully last night... the first time in a few weeks. All server are backed up and that's a good thing. I also had a meeting with some consultants yesterday about what's required for Meaningful Use, at least on the IT side. I'm definitely going to have my work cut out for me over the coming months!

Spousal Unit is in Myrtle Beach this week (She left Monday) and I will be joining her tomorrow. I am not allowed to take any vacation for the first 6 months but the office is letting me cut out 1/2 day tomorrow. I'll be heading to Myrtle Beach to join her just as soon as I can sneak out of here. I'll be there just a little longer then you Dawnierae, but it's still going to be a whirlwind weekend. Drive down Friday afternoon, have all day Saturday, and most of the day Sunday. It's about a 4 hour drive for me so I'll leave around dinnertime on Sunday, get home around 10:00 PM, crash, and back to work on Monday. I'm excited!

Yum, I love using the slow cooker!

I actually do have fun weekend plans for once - my family is throwing a big party this weekend, my two younger sisters are graduating from college and high school, respectively. Very proud of them. People are flying in from all over the country, it's going to be great.

I forgot how much I enjoy baking. I'm making cookies for a bake sale for the school and I love the process of mixing the batter and the smell of the house while the cookies are baking.

That's awesome Chief - a nice shot to the school. Losing an honor student is pretty bad for them.

Yeah, I was loaded down too, took a total of 9 AP courses in HS. I was an over-achiever. they also had the requisite course thing, and they used all that to calculate final GPA for graduation. It actually caused a bit of controversy

Busy day for us, it's our last day in Dallas, getting ready to go with Hubby, Dad, brother and sister in law to see my Aunt for lunch then we are heading out this afternoon to go back to North Carolina. Our destination is our cabin on the ridges of Mt Mitchell. Our house at the beach is full of summer vacationers and will be through August. We have had a great week busy with family and graduation activities. Very proud of my brother and his wife for raising two great kids.

Thanks, Chief, and may I say...I freaking LOVE that story! Good for Athena!! I hope she carries that "I'm not gonna do something stupid just because you say I have to" attitude with her throughout her entire life. People will try to knock her down, but it sounds like she has the self confidence to take a punch and then deliver the knock-out. You and the darling bride have clearly done something right.

I would have had to do a "neener neener neener" at her parents as I walked across the stage.

AP courses here work differently...Tatiana took several AP courses, but did not have to take all 7 classes as AP. And if she hadn't needed the credits for her advanced diploma, she would not have had to stay for the entire day. Her school does that stupid block schedule, though, so maybe that has something to do with it.

Anyone know if the VZW galaxy S3 will have the same radio as the nexus? I may be able to overlook the MTP / windows 7 driver issues, but not the radio problems.

Nope, radios are integrated on S4 chip. GNex has OMAP 4460 processor, so couldn't integrate. Radios SHOULD be better on S3

We will, don't worry. I hope you do as well! Too bad you won't be there on Friday night as Jen and I are going to Mellow Mushroom to eat dinner (my favorite place) and then we're heading to Fat Tuesday's for an adult beverage or three at Broadway at the Beach. Would have been happy to buy you and your friend a drink while we made fun of my wife's iSheep phone.

Drop the strawberry icing and I'm all over that.

I think there's a setting in Play to ONLY sync apps over wifi, to conserve data. You can uncheck that and DL over 4G... or 3G or whatever

Hi Guys and Dolls!!! I have been trying to catch up on the posts here!!! Which to say, I had to skip a dozen pages of posts to read the last dozen pages in the past few days.

The last two weeks of last month was really busy at work. My team's intern finished in April, so part of her work went back to my desk, which meant by 'month end' (last 2 weeks of the month), I was uber busy. We have a new intern, but his work is totally different :/ Also, one of my member will be part time with my team, so some of her work is on my desk >_<; So, right now, I have to be extra good with my time management! :<

Congrats Chief to getting your Nexxie rooted and ROM'd! And your daughter has some guts!! Kudos to her and standing up for herself. Seems like she's set (wrt attitude) for University!

Seems like you had a wonderful Bday weekend BB!!! I can't believe y'all talk so much that you've passed the 15k post!!!

It's my uncle's 70th Bday on Saturday and he's having a great big party!

I'm going to try to be on top of the posts in here *determination on*

I did indeed. But its back in the box ready to go back. For some reason I could not get my apps to download with out paying for them again. I've done factory reset.

Google music worked fine. Not my apps though.

700.00 bucks and this issue? Yeah, no thanks. Its going back.

I am starting to suspect the guy at the counter did something wrong during activation, he used the sim card from my nexus. Thought I was suppose to get a new sim card even if I planned on swapping them out.

Guess I am out 35 bucks for a restocking fee for their screwup and get to wait a few days for my 700 bucks to be put back into my account. This sucks

Sometimes my apps didnt automatically download when I factory reset. Its strange, but not sure if its specific to the Maxx.

Hmph - weird.

GRRRR AGAIN!

I'm on AOKP B38 and it seems that my 4G is dropping out more now than it ever has! Juice Defender Plus re-activates 4G as soon as I take it out of standby... but no 4G!

I have to cycle Airplane mode to get it back. Any ideas out there from you Android wizards?

Have you tried NOT using Juice Defender and using the built in Power Saver options inside Rom Control in AOKP?

Uh, no. I have not ventured in there yet.

What settings do you recommend?

Chief, I'm finding similar problems. I may go back to Liquid. Didn't have any problems there.

Evening everyone!
Got to experience a few staff blow up on me the past few days. It's certainly stressful but it strengthens you at the same time. Always nice to get home to see my lovely wife and relax.

I would recommend the same chief...go without the JD...and use the settings in ROM control. The only problem I have had since I got rid of JD...is when I tried to copy someone else's settings. Since each physical phone handles differently...I ended up finding a great match for my phone with LeanKernal exp versions. I also set my governor to 1650/350 and interactivex....but I honestly leave everything else stock on AOKP. I usually end the day with about 30% battery left after gaming and regular use including navigation, after about 16hrs a day....
Disclaimer: I am in a good 4g area, always leave wifi on, but turn GPS off unless I need it.

Blow up like crazy town Gordon Ramsay, or snide jerk like Bourdain? Either way, just FIRE their butts outta there! Life's too short to work with prima donnas! Hope you weather the storm, dreadnatty.

I've said it before but AF is such a great group of folks and I'm glad to be a part of it.
As much crap I have to deal with at work (like most of us do), here, we're all buddies.

As much as I like watching those shows, it's just not my style. I've worked for chefs who will curse you out like no tomorrow. I have thick skin so it's no problem, but I find it's really not the best way to treat people and encourage them to go further.
