Good morning all! Today is exciting for me - I am selling a giant-scale airplane I won at a flying event last year. It's a beautiful airplane and I'm thankful to have won it, but crop dusters just aren't my thing so I put it up for sale. A retired Special Forces gentleman from around the Ft. Bragg area is coming to purchase it tonight. I couldn't have asked for it to go to a better person - he is very much into crop dusters and seems very excited about it. I feel very strongly about the brave men and women in our armed forces - especially those that have been wounded or make the ultimate sacrifice in defense of freedom - so I'm happy that he's going to buy it. The good news for me, of course, is that I'm getting enough money to finish several projects as well as make a ton of room in my workshop.

I had my Meaningful Use meeting yesterday afternoon. Anyone in the medical field knows what that is. My responsibility for Meaningful Use is Measure 15, which is network/data/electronic security. I'm going to be busy over the next few months, making sure things are secure and working as they should. I look to this as an opportunity to learn some things I've never really touched so I'm excited!

@Han - If your procedure is today, good luck! There's not much to it. Just take it easy for a few days and you'll be back to normal. No heavy lifting and/or don't strain yourself are the biggest things. Plenty of rest, a few painkillers, and an icepack is all that's needed.

@geek - If today is your birthday, happy birthday!!

Finally, on closing, Droid Life posted a really good guide on the new Verizon plans. Apologies if that's a re-post. My wife and I did a real quick calculation and I think we'd be paying a little more every month but not a huge amount, to have what we have now. We're not heavy data users as we're connected to Wifi as much as possible. They did a poll and found that around 75% of their members were going to be paying more money to have similar features under the new plans. I understand that poll wasn't exactly scientific, but if that's any indication on how it's going to go for everyone, Verizon really will be rolling in the dough. Like they weren't making enough money before?

Lucky, sounds awesome. I can't wait for the day I have time to get back in the hobby. I miss living in Florida because there were so many good RC airshows and clubs. Would love to take my kids to them. I have a Sig Kadet Sr. In my attic, but doubt it will hold up to finish it and get flying someday... I had a parkzone p51 that I loved, but something broke in the radio, and just don't have the time or extra cash to get a new one. Guess I will just live vicariously through you for a while

It does take up a good portion of my time but I'm thankful that Spousal Unit is very supportive of me and the hobby. Do you know what's broke in your P-51? I have tons of spare parts, from servos to receivers to pushrods and everything in-between. I'd be more than happy to send you parts to get you back in the air, assuming it's something I have.

The sale of the Pawnee will fund my next helicopter (Bell JetRanger) as well as getting the rest of my electronics to finish my FPV (first-person view) airplane.

I am starting to suspect my network extender is sucking my battery dry over night. The reason? I use more battery in my phones (don't matter which one) with it just sitting over night. Out all day at work doing my usual on the device seems to use less battery. Either that, wifi eats up more battery then 3g/4g ???

It is something on the circuitboard I think. It's a RTF park flyer, so didn't have real radio components. thanks anyways though. The extent of my flying now is one of those syma micro helicopters in my living room. Tons of fun though. I also have Great Planes G3 simulator that I will mess around in just to keep me "current"

+1! By the time the youngest gets out of college (she starts in 8 weeks), my husband will be retired, and I hope to be able to at least partially retire and move somewhere...anywhere...preferably somewhere with sun, sand and water...and a cute cabana boy to bring me fruity drinks with umbrellas in them all day as I lounge by the pool.

Only way I'll move out is 1)I get married or 2) my job is too far from home, lol. Plus, my job would not allow me to have a good/fun life if I were to live by myself.

Hey there, the extender saves my battery.. Without it, the constant searching for signal eats the battery in a few hours. I also have wifi on and don't see a drain from it. I do have to give verizon a kudo, our extender was warbling our outgoing voice to every number except other verizon wireless phones (weird, right?). Any way I called verizon to see if it could be fixed from their end, no luck. They offered to send me a new one free of charge and I am more than a year out of warranty. New one came today, warble is gone, sounds perfect! And it's a newer model, data enabled, to boot!

I have had my extender for, I think a couple years now. Maybe I should check into a new one.

Here's a handy dandy birthday cheat sheet.

Add yourself to the list! (And of course, do not feel obligated to list the year)

March 10
IHateMyTreo

May 20
BabyBlues

June 14
Svt_gEEk

June 17
Ryancmatchett (he’ll be 34!)

June 18
Halon

June 18
Razorsharp

June 21
Jmartino5920 (The Big 3-0)

With all the June babies, was there a blackout in September? Or maybe some huge frat party?

post your b-days and I'll update the list in a few days.

We only use it when we are in the mountains, there is no cell signal here on any carrier. it was working great when we came up end of April, but we got here end of May and the warble was here. I suppose yours could be bad as well, are you getting full bars?

I'm on the opposite time as all of you. I'm a December baby! Pearl Harbor day to be exact. Not the most pleasant day of course, but a nice time to be born between then and Xmas (=much more saturated time of gifts )

Anyone else a Jeopardy fan? A nice way to relax and work my brain after a stressing day at work. Love competing with the wife. Seems the rumor that Trebek may retire from the show. Wonder who would replace him.
And, no, I don't think Will Ferrell will be the one.

Your not using the verizon home phone service are you? Because my network extender plugs directly into my cable connection at home. I know the home phone thing can be used almost anywhere

No, extender plugs into wireless router which is connected to the cable modem.

Yeah, I am getting full bars but the wifi seems to be dipping. Looks kind of like the cellular signal on my nexus. Looks like when the phone is sleeping, it kicks on the 3g at home. Hmm...

I keep wifi on and use auto wifi enabler and wifi unlocker together. It keeps my wifi on in recognized connections and turns off the pin security. Works good to keep everything running and maximizing battery and convenience.

I guess I got a few more days to see if I want to keep this thing. The Maxx, I mean.

Looks like more radio issues with this, this time at home! Sitting at home and having my battery being eaten while I sleep and the phone on wifi and a network extender for the voice is not good. No good having that massive battery in the thing if its getting munched doing nothing. 4G has been very limited for me, however. The phone has mostly been on 3g but I am on the fringes of the towers.

Right now, that is about the only major bad thing I can think about with the phone, other then gingerbread.

The call quality is good, nice and loud. The phone is solid. While out, the battery is decent.

If this phone is going to have radio issues at home, like the nexus did, outside of the house, then I guess its really not worth having this one either. And I read about connection and wifi issues here in the Maxx forum too.

I really don't want to play music phones.

I did just root this thing too, but I am sure a restore to factory can be done. Will need to do this before returning anyway.

Does it stay or does it go?

Take it back! Take it back! Take it back!

Honestly, it sound like you may need to get a Rezound.

Wish I could help.
