I tried putting my husband's turnout gear on once...in a normal temperature room...and almost passed out from the heat. I can't imagine how you people who work in those conditions do it.

That's quite a painful story to read, let alone LIVE. I'm glad you've been able to reflect on it as a character building experience that made you who you are today.

Playing around with the note right now. Not bad HSPA+ Speeds are decent. Lag typing this is horrible
Okay, let me try this again...
Typing on the note is horrible, at one point the cursor went back up to the previous line and a couple words back and started a new word. I had to erase a line a couple times for some reason. Perhaps a new keyboard or the ICS OTA will fix this. Call quality was pretty good, better then the nexus. I was told I sounded like a person. Was easy to hear and there was very little noise.
There seems to be a bit of a dead spot in my area, but I heard there was a problem with a tower next to me so.
Happy Birthday Halon, Razor, Ryan and Jmar. And congratulations on the Green Jmar. Did I miss anyone? I only did a quick skim of the last couple pages.
Sorry I'm late on all these but I've been crazy busy in arbitration hearings this week. Thank God its over and I get to fly a plane tomorrow.
And you're right Chief, I already have Flighttrack

I have this problem with my Galaxy Tab 10.1. If you find something that fixes it, let me know. I've tried different keyboards.

Also I have noticed 3G-4G hand-off is abysmal since I upgraded to the full IMM76K ROM, even though before I had the radios with the IMM30B ROM and it seemed fine. And it seems like the data connection hangs up, I have to back up and reload, to get web pages, and topics on tapatalk to load quite often.
Anti , your description sounds identical to what I have been dealing with on my phone since I switched from the leaked 4.04 IMM30B with the leaked radios. I never had a data problem before and had flawless handoffs. Now, data stops, goes grey, hand offs stink and I had difficulty making a call and had the one way audio happen. I am thinking about going back to the leaked radios from a couple of months ago. Any one else having issues like this since going to the FC04 FC05 radios?

I sent the SwiftKey Beta 3 (?) to my friend who has a Note (also on a beta ICS ROM). She loves it and hasn't said anything about the lag. I remember the 10.1, when I had it, had horrible typing lag. I've certainly give alternate keyboards a shot (Dawn).
Morning everyone! It's a lovely 80 degrees out at 6am this morning....ugh.
At least it's supposed to rain today.
We're going to see Music Man tomorrow. Anyone see it before?
Good Morning all! I am in a remarkably good mood this morning for whatever reason. Its not even because its a friday, as I have to work tomorrow again... another 60 hour week. Oh well, good for the wallet.
Looks like my calling issue yesterday was a network issue, my company has put out a notification about it... So here is my apology to my GNex, for blaming it.
Happy Friday!

Thanks everyone for allowing me to be able to share those kinds of things here. I appreciate all of the feedback. As far as my Nexus is concerned, I think it's going back to Verizon. The Razr Maxx has been great so far with impressive battery life and the clearest phone calls I've had in a long time. I'll make a final decision this weekend. If I do send it back to Verizon, I hope they put it in a shredder and destroyed, only so someone else doesn't get it as a "Certified Like-New Replacement".

Good Morning y'all.
Feeling good this morning. Working the early shift but it will be cut short as I am interviewing for a promotion!
Gotta be thankful for my 50+ hr weeks! Right with you Anti!
Anyway, been given some leniency from Steven (ducks the noodle) around my guidely practice and am grateful for that. This weekend should be filled with practice, mistakes and hopefully no noodles!
Anyway guys/gals...wish me good thoughts on a very important day!
Two days ago I go to get in my Escape after work and immediately get hit with a smell that almost knocks me on my butt. I look all over for something and find nothing. So I drive home with all the windows down and a/c on. Also, instant headache. Yesterday I get in to go to work and the smell is still there but not as bad. I look all over and still can't see what it could be. I then feel a wet spot on the carpet. Right by is an unopened bottle of chocolate milk that I bought on Sunday. That high temps the past few days caused the cap to loosen and some of it leaked out. Now I need to find something to get rid of the smell.

When I was a teenager I worked with some carpet installers and this is what they recommended. Warm water with dishsoap (that will separate the oily food substance from the carpet fibers) and get it good and wet. Here is the important part. Press firmly with paper towels or a rag to absorb the moisture, do not scrub as this simply spreads the stain. When I get a stain in my carpets at home this is what I do. I usually use paper towels and then step on them with my heel until the moisture doesn't soak through.

I've heard this before too. My cousin's husband is a carpet cleaner and they also say to put a piece of white bread in a shallow container and then pour white vinegar into the container to come even with the top of the bread. Leave overnight. The vinegar deodorizes and the bread absorbs the smells.

As a pet owner, we have secret remedies. Get a bottle of Nature's Miracle. Just apply and dab up with a paper towel. Smell and stain gone. If it works with dog puke and worse, it will handle old milk.
Its the closest thing yet to a marketable electric car IMO. But if the original Tesla roadster is any indication, we are not there yet. I honestly think it is going to take one more leap in battery tech, whatever that may be, and then we will be there.

I don't remember anything bad about the Roadster other than the price. The Model S is actually semi-affordable at $50k for the base model. For right at $55k, you can get a couple of options on the base model like Napa leather, metallic paint, and a panoramic sun roof. That would get you those features, the standard infotainment system, and a 160 mile range. If I were in the market for a luxury car, that's what I would buy, hands down. Sadly I'm not in the market for a $50k luxury car. I'm not even in the market for a $35k Chevy Volt
I do think you're right though. One more leap in battery tech and the charging methods and we'll be there. Honestly that excites me. I don't think you'll ever see America go all EV, but it provides the option. I would envision families having at least 1 EV and one gasoline vehicle.
I would LOVE to have an EV for myself and my wife and then our Supercrew F150 for longer trips/family vacations and hauling. That would be the perfect vehicle lineup IMO. Never use gas unless you need to haul something or go on long trips.

Is anyone else excited about the Tesla Model S now shipping to its first customers?
If I had the money I'd love to have one. In fact, if I just didn't pay off both of our cars I'd have a Leaf. I like the idea of having an electric-powered car.
They want everyone to go electric but sadly most people can't afford these cars. Not only that, an electric will do no good for someone that needs a pickup. Someday, hopefully, the past 10 years will lead to vehicles that anyone can buy. Rule of thumb is if you can't pay a car off in 3 years you can't afford it. I didn't follow that rule LOL! If it wasn't for school loan and credit card maybe I could pay off my vehicle in 3?

Ugh this rain is only gonna bring these centipedes back.
They are so annoying - I hope that the dehumidifier I bought works to get moisture out of the apartment and kills them. I know they are beneficial because they eat other bugs but they are gross and lay eggs.
The Tesla roadster has a major issue in that the battery is rendered useless if the charge drops below a certain percentage, and vampire loads cause that to happen in as little as two weeks, even from a full charge. It even locks the wheels, so getting it on a tow truck is extremely difficult, AND it's not covered by warranty if it happens ($60000 replacement cost) , even though Tesla didn't warn their customers about it and are refusing to issue a warning, due to worry of drop in sales.

Didn't know that. Pretty major issue too. Seems like a pretty easy fix to me. Program it to shut off everything and isolate the battery once it gets below a certain percentage and have a warning light come on letting the user know to charge it.
Well the incidences where it has revealed itself is when the vehicle was parked without the capability to charge. i.e. I think one died at an airport parking lot, and another died in a ship's cargo bay while being shipped overseas. Tesla did tell their customers to always keep the charge up, but never warned about the consequences. They are claiming their warning was sufficient, even though its common sense that people will be a whole lot more careful if they know they are on the hook for a $60k battery if they don't follow the warning...
What Tesla has done to combat it, is have the car send out a warning message to Tesla if it drops below a certain percentage, and call the owner to remind them to plug it in. If they can't get a hold of the owner, they will activate the GPS, find the car, and if the car is located near a service center, they have actually dispatched a mobile charger to see if they can gain access to the car and charge it.

On my golf cart I just disconnect the batteries to get rid of any electrical leaks.

Essentially what Tesla could implement on their vehicles if it senses it is getting below a certain battery level. Alternatively have a button for the owner to press to go into long-term parking mode that, again, isolates the battery but does so immediately so the charge isn't lost at an airport parking lot or in ship transportation like Anti said.

Pup, you would think there would be an option for long term storage to do this. But sadly there isn't. Its all hard wired. Tesla wants to be able to monitor their cars, and you can't do it if it is unplugged.

It fits, by all appearances I am a girly girl, (long hair and nails, high heels, short skirts) but my interests are more along guys interests..I love to wrench on cars, take things apart, do plumbing, electrical and carpentry, go to the range etc. most people feel I am an oxymoron, lol.

I hope you guys realize I was being sarcastic. It is amazing that they don't provide for this though.
I do actually have a golf cart and it has a switch under the seat for exactly this purpose.

Sarcastic or not, it really is what should have been implemented. Whoever heard of a car that could cripple itself without some sort of protection against it. Really should have been implemented on the car.
