Not a drill sergeant as in a person I know, just in general.
Hi, my name is, Major Facepalm (you maggots!)
I know, that's what I was referring to. On How I Met Your Mother, the TV show, the characters have a thing where they repeat what was said and salute any time the word Major, General, or any other possible reference is mentioned in a sentence. So if someone said "That's the general idea" they would salute and say "General Idea" lol.

No sense in getting into it here...probably get me on probation. Best left undiscussed or in the politics section.
Screw Verizon. I'm about to become a freaking data hog. They won't let my employer discount apply to either line's access fee under the share everything plan so it ends up only saving me $5-$10 and I lose unlimited on both lines and have to share 4GB. No thanks.

I have to agree. I've been using a lot more data lately just on general principal of not liking what crap they're pulling now.

It makes absolutely no sense. Under old plans, just the voice was eligible for a discount and data only on the first line. Now the data is elligible, but the voice isn't. Wow, just wow.

I'm using SimpleCalendar. Nicely laid out, lots of options. I went with that over the stock ICS widget because the stock ICS widget doesn't show all day events, such as holidays or birthdays. I do think that's been fixed in 4.0.4 but I'm not 100% sure of that.
Went to a friend's house last night who lives on the Tar River. We flew our waterplanes and had a blast. The planes we used are the ParkZone Icon A5 light sport waterplane. It's a scale model of the full-size Icon A5 which is a gorgeous airplane. Snapped a pic with my Razr and it didn't turn out half bad.
someone remind me. I thought all the text message and contacts and apps were supposed to comeback? Or do I have to restore after installing and rebooting?
I am running Jelly Bean and must say that I am very impressed with speed and the nice new tweaks. I miss the navbar customizations of AOKP but I'm sure they will be baked soon.
HOWEVER, the first time I downloaded and flashed JB I had a bad download and broke my phone. I ended up having to flash a stock recovery image to get functional again, and it wiped EVERYTHING. Books, movies, app and ROM backups, pictures, text and contact backups, everything!!!

Eeek - glad you got it back up and running.
I do missed some AOKP things, but not enough to not run JB.

Google Now is amazing - so intuitive.
I missed the Google Now part of the unveiling....what do you like about it? I have no idea what it is other than its something with the local weather when I swipe up on the navbar, lol.
As Vito Corleone once said "Here's an offer you can't refuse."
Please go to my entry in the AF Treasure Trove Contest AF Treasure Trove
Thank it.
If I win I will keep one prize for myself and GIVE THE OTHER SWAG TO THE DENIZENS OF THE WATERING HOLE WHO THANK THE CONTEST POST. BB can figure out a cool drawing for the loot.
Waddya Think?

Basically it keeps track of the world around you. Near a bus stop / train stop and it'll bring up a card giving you the next train/bus at that particular stop.
Itll show you your favorite sports teams scores. It uses search history and location to give you information, which is really neat.
Honestly my favorite part about JB is how soothing the voice is - totally better than Siri's robotic voice.
Can anyone else with Jelly Bean back up Han's assertion that it eats up battery more quickly? I already get pretty cruddy battery life and don't want to make it worse.

I've installed it and it seems to be the initial setup that takes some bandwidth and battery.

Well, I downloaded the JB ROM I linked from RW. Backed up everything in CWM but couldn't find the ROM in the Downloads folder. Went to reboot and now all I get is the Google logo and no further. I've tried plenty of battery pulls and getting into recovery. Can't to the latter but can get into the bootloader which isn't giving me any options.
Anyone with any thoughts? It's pretty much stuck at this point.

From what I can tell it is about the same as stock 4.0.4. I'm at 4 hours with 1 hour of up time, and at 67%

Uh oh. That's exactly what happened to me this morning. Wasted three hours trying to figure it out, ended up flashing a stock recovery image via fastboot, which erased EVERYTHING on my SD card. All backups, etc. Gone.
Had to root all over again, although for some reason it stayed unlocked.
