v5. Everyone seems to be loving on it.
Now my friggin' nandroid isn't restoring!
"error while restoring /data"
Third time wiping and trying to restore. If this doesn't work, I'll try the next nandroid back, which is an old b38 backup. And if THAT fails... it's back to Wug's Toolkit to start all freaking over again.
EDIT: NO NANDROID WILL RESTORE. That's after wiping data, and using Super Wipe. /data restore errors out as soon as it starts, even though the MD5s are good. Even an advanced restore with data only fails.
This thing has totally borked Ginny. And I now have NO CHOICE but to nuke the damn phone and start all over, hoping and praying that, on the other side of this, I can actually nandroid back.

Before you do that, check out Voided Saints sticky in the GNex ATR forum. He had same problem.

By the time I read your post about his post, I'd already pushed the button... but maybe it'll help other folks. Waiting for my stinking stock Ginny to come to life.

I'm not familiar with kernels. This v5 had Popcorn attached to it. Does it make the battery better or something? Are there setting for it somewhere that you can mess with it?
I am seriously thinking about getting the S3 from tmobile.

Crazy timing, I've just been trying Volume+ too and it doesn't seem to have any effect for me either. Is there something you need to do to make it take effect?

Went to a brand new Mexican restaurant in our neighborhood tonight (just opened last night). They do basically Mexican street food. Great food and drink. Here's their dressed up corn:
I see liquid smooth has been updated, so naturally I want to update. I am on 1.4, the new release is 1.5. Do I need to wipe, factory reset, wipe Delvik cache and all that? Or just install over 1.4?

Never upgraded a rom before
For an update like that just wipe cache and Dalvik cache and dirty flash over the existing ROM.

Yep, this is fine. However, I'd just look over the changelog and ensure the devs don't request a complete wipe.
Morning everyone!
Another reason I'm so happy to live with underground electric lines. With the huge storms we had Friday night, a ton of people in the area are without power/cable/internet. With the temps we're having now, I couldn't imagine going without.

Good morning folks, and here I go again!
Trying Jelly Belly 1.5 JB ROM this time, hoping it's a little less "self-destructive" than the last one I tried. Seems to MAYBE have issues with long boot times, but stable other than that. Will keep you posted on how it goes.

EDIT: So far, so good! No reboots, no loops... fast, smooth, responsive! Maybe this one will work! And the voice synthesis is so realistic that I can retire Ivona - I think - and give Ginny a new voice!

Morning all!!! Hoping BB is having fun.
Chief, here's hoping you get it going!
I helped a friend move their salt water fish tank Friday...took us about 10 hours, and only 1 fish casualty. So it went pretty well.
Yesterday my better half and I and 8 others took a limo for an 8hr wine tour...5 wineries, Lunch, champagne...and finished with dinner at Chili's. Great day.
I had installed the V2 of JB the first day it was available....worked great except for the whole deep sleep, connection issues etc...so updated to V5 yesterday morning and its been awesome. Still missing the toggles and performance tweaks from AOKP, but this has been a solid ROM for me. Good test for me was the wine tour yesterday....85% of the day I was beyond cell reception area for VZW....and still ended the day with 15% battery without having to charge it at all!!!! And I did not have to change it to airplane or 3g or anything else..just left the phone in my pocket...would check it every once in a while...but other than that just used it for pictures all day!! BTW...love the new camera app functions!!!

Quick update on Google Wallet...there is an update in Play...in case you have not noticed...for those of us on VZW you have to manually find it in your All Apps..
As far as the camera...the new swiping with the gallery, some new edits as well as....pinch to zoomfrom the most recent pic will give you the last pictures you took...and the current live view. We used it yesterday to do group shots and pictures of the front of buildings...just to make sure we got everything. It just seems like Google spent a little bit of time cleaning up the camera UI...much smoother and better transitions in JB overall.

I always start a ROM with Wallet logged out and in a zero data state. Logged in, set it up, loaded money, I'm good to go. I don't know what your issue is, Halon, but it's not with the ROM, I can assure you.
I haven't found a problem yet with this thing. I look forward to figuring out Google Now... but being in a rural community, what's it really gonna tell me? How many cows are being sold at the livestock market?
D'oh. I forgot I no longer have ADB set up or drivers as I reinstalled windows a while back. May want to get that settled first before trying to flash JB in case of bricking

I used Wug's Toolkit to salvage my Nexus from its catastrophic flirtation with the venir v5 JB ROM. Worked absolutely brilliantly. Just remember if you have to use it to flash back to stock, it'll take you to 4.0.2... just decline the OTA until you can root and flash a nandroid or something

I am pretty sure the latest version is 1.1-R67-v5. I have it, but don't have dropbox. Google around for it... if you can't find it, I can shoot you an e-mail with it attached

Just select the apk with Astro or something and install it
EDIT: You know what I just tried?
I went to play.google.com on my laptop, saw that Wallet had an update as of today, and hit "Install". It came to my phone and updated the app! It WORKED!

When I opened Google Wallet at the top it says unsupported device. I logged into it fine and my money was still there. Am I still able to use it even though it says unsupported device?

Yep
EDIT: That's them letting you know they know you're rooted... they recommend NOT using Wallet on rooted phones because of security issues. But I figure it THIS way:
If someone can get past my face unlock, and pattern unlock, AND Wallet PIN, they need the money more than I do. Likewise if they can figure out how to access my money on my rooted device. Most of the people around here think rooting is pulling weeds or something.
I'm not being mean, I'm being real. I'm RURAL, baby!
