Gah, at my favorite local bar having some day off afternoon drinks and they keep testing out new stuff and handing me glasses of it. Have to meet the wife and co-workers a block away for happy hour in a bit. Thank god this is within a few blocks of the apartment.

I've never had this filth. It's popular in Adams Morgan which is not far from us, but it's a late night boozers dream.
Really, the only other style that's popular is the fancy, individual Neopolitan style. Expensive, and often mediocre. Obviously, we have a bunch of takeout joints, but they're usually pretty terrible. Our style mimics that of New Haven (East Haven to be specific). Fairly thin crust, very bread like, crispy and a slight char on the bottom. Extremely particular with our toppings to ensure they're all cooked correctly and seasoned right.
I do know what you're talking about as we had some great little joints where I grew up in MA. Lots of Greeks opening up pizza places and they had an interesting and delicious take on pizza. Plus, I really miss Papa Ginos (maybe only Pup knows them). Loved that place as a kid.
(Yes, I'm a pizza fanatic and love it! )
Best pizza is in Old Forge, PA. It's a 2-hour drive from my house, but damn it's worth it. We have some very good pizza down my way, but when I'm in upstate PA I always stop in Old Forge

If you're there alone with your SO.... well, I know what I would be doing in that hotel room (I may be old, but I ain't dead lol).
All kidding aside... sorry you're missing Aerosmith and Cheap Trick. Id give my left arm to see them in concert (and both arms and legs to see Keith Urban... YUM).

I somehow got the 4th off. Too bad every thing is closed and half the state is on fire. Well almost a dozen fires near were I usually like to go

We're open for business.
First 4th working in the new restaurant, I've been away the past two. DC is funny for the 4th. Half the city leaves and we get a ton in to see the fireworks on the Mall. Unfortunately, it looks like it may rain a bit.
I believe the last couple years have been a pretty chill day. We may have a busy lunch and early dinner, but it mostly clears out by 7-8pm in time for everyone to make it to the fireworks. But, last night was CRAZY. Most of Montgomery County and parts of upper NW DC are still without power so everyone has been dining out. I couldn't believe the sales we did (and how under prepared we were).

At the risk of sounding uniformed, can someone pretty please explain in layman's terms about this Apple legal issue with Samsung? Will it affect current Gnex owners, or does this deal with a different Samsung phone? As you can tell, I don't understand any of it at all.

Basically, it just means that the security staff from Cupertino will be banging down the doors of all Nexus owners and confiscating their phones (along with any other Android devices they find).
Nah, I don't know how it affects current owners. Courts around the world have ruled for and against Apple but in terms of those with the devices in hand, I doubt they can do anything. My biggest concern is how it affects Verizon and any other carriers from selling these devices (subsidized of course) or if Google will only be selling them themselves. I'm hoping that any and all patents Google acquired from Motorola will help quell these ridiculous law suits.

Thanks! My next question is why are they (Apple) doing this in the first place?
Because they're scared of competition and the precedent that Steve Jobs made by trying to kill Android any way possible. It's a huge point of contention with Android fans (myself included) and it's gotten to the point that judges are literally telling both parties to "cut it out".

Maybe a dumb question, but I thought JB was supposed to use Chrome as the stock browser? Why does it appear as though I'm using the old browser? Is it just the app icon or what? I know the quick controls are different, but that's about all I see.

Nope, still stock Android browser, at least on this release. But it's easy to change

Well, they're losing my family:
My iPhone sister and her son saw how Apple iOS changes, but the same phone w/the same little screen. He tried an SGS2 and loves it. Now she's cooling her heels until her AT&T contract runs out in a couple of months, slobbering all over the SGS3.
She texted me: "What's this Ice Cream thing?"
I called her to explain. Now she's slobbering even more: you don't have to buy a new phone to get an updated OS? Imagine that!

Ah, I found what I was looking for via the link you sent (don't ask me how I found it now when I couldn't before lol). This is what I was after. Are they claiming any other infringements by Samsung?
Edit 2: They're mistaken in this. That statement has been there since news went big about the phone getting JB.

Update: We're still waiting to hear back from Google, but in the meanwhile the company appears to have updated its Galaxy Nexus page slightly. The description of the phone now reads "Galaxy Nexus HSPA+ (soon with Android 4.1, Jelly Bean)," which suggests that maybe the company merely stopped selling devices without the new update.

Yep mine will be here Thursday as well. However I am not happy about the way the link I posted reads like they are dumbing down the search functions which I don't like but some people are also saying that the NOW cards feature will go as well because of this patch?
I did not buy the phone to end up with "less than" everything it can do before the patch.
Looks like a theoretical particle has been proven. A new boson fitting the description of the higgs boson has been found. Who says you can't get something for nothing.

I'm not that familiar yet with what the Now cards actually are. The only real thing I was seriously lookiing forward to was the S Voice, which I'm sure will be broken in some way (I've read that people weren't pleased with it to begin with, but I have bad eyesight so it would still help me out a lot). As for the search function, I don't use that feature of my phone often enough to miss it if it were to completely disappear. However, I get what you're saying. A lot of people use their phones more heavily than I, so you (and everyone else) have a legitimate complaint there.

The whatsawhosit? No idea what that is exactly lol.
Morning everyone!
DC is STILL reeling from the storm. Some folks won't have power until the end of the week and temps are looking to stay in the mid to upper 90s the rest of the week.
Already seen there's ROMs out for the Nexus 7! Doesn't add much more other than basic root things, but it's a start. I'm hoping once I get mine AOKP will be updated to JB and have a ROM for it!
Still haven't rooted my Prime, but I think the N7 will be my new ROMing play toy.
Happy 4th to you all! Have a fun and safe day with friends and family (and hopefully lots of food!). I'll be at work all day so no real celebration for me.

They should have named it the Pope Boson... it gives Mass to all the other particles
EDIT: No offense intended, I'm just in a punny mood this morning

The devs will find a way to reinstate it just like they did the features HTC had to disable. Don't worry about this at all. Just stick with us and you'll be fine.

I hope they win the patent case against Apple: after all, universal search has been around long before Apple, and longer before they acquired the patent.
EDIT: To answer Razor's question... I'm running Jelly Belly 1.9 and it's flat-out awesome!
