Hate to hear that hon. Wish I could help you out, but I'm stuck on the other side of the world in Tokyo. Had a gorgeous sunrise approach and landing two hours ago after flying all night from LAX. It's rare to be that clear here and get such a view of Fujiama. Took this one with the Nexus.
Beautiful pic! Thanks for sharing
EDIT: post 800

Just got back. Had to nearly run in Phoenix to make our connection, but made it through customs and security no sweat. Have to say, security in Mexico airports is hilarious. They really don't care about anything. Smooth sailing for sure there.
Glad to have tomorrow off of work to unwind (and hit up the Neko Case concert!).

I bought my PS3 when it first came out. I think it finally died. If my laptop decides to go too then I'm screwed. The only thing I'll have for entertainment will be my phone.

You could be in a worse position! There are lots of great games for our phone, in case you hadn't noticed.

Yes! I ran from one gate to the other and walked right on the plane. And thankfully my luggage made it too!! I'm typing this from home, in bed.....about to pass out. See you all in the morning.
Glad to hear both dread and BB had safe travels! Even if it is the homebound leg, and not as exciting as the outbound one
So have to brag a little, my daughter started gymnastics, (she's 3). She is always climbing and jumping on stuff around the house, but she is kind of a klutz, so I wasn't sure how that was going to work. But after two classes, they moved her to the 6-7 year old class, and she is already doing the balance beam unassisted!
Morning everyone!
Uploading some pics from our trip now (I'll post them in a few, takes forever to upload to Drive). Exciting day for all those getting a Nexus 7 today (woops, sorry, Pup )! Have to dig through our massive/neglected pile of mail to find my concert tickets. If I can't find em, suppose I can print them (we've forgotten tickets at this venue before, but if you show an ID and CC used to buy em, they print new ones). For those who've never heard of Neko Case, she's really cool. Alt country is how she's usually described: Neko Case - This Tornado Loves You @ Letterman - YouTube

Good morning to all! My Nexus 7 is on the truck for delivery as we speak. UPS doesn't run until late afternoon so it won't be there till I get home from work...otherwise I would be waiting on it. That's really the only thing keeping my day somewhat positive. Had one of the worst days I've had at work in the 4+ years I've been here. Got really frustrated to the point where I am probably going to start actively seeking another job.

Congrats on your N7! I'm going to get mine at work tomorrow.
Sorry to hear about the job.
Trust me, the past few weeks, I've had MANY of those days. This vacation really did a lot to help clear my mind and get me focused and back in the game. Hang in there, but like I tell everyone who works with us: If you're not happy here, get out! Don't ever do anything you're not happy doing regardless of pay, location, friendships etc. It's just not worth doing.

I used to be in a league, but life got in the way. Enjoy it.

Congrats Geek, I'm still waiting. Hopefully that lead you got at your reunion pays off.

It's really not that I hate my job. I don't mind what I do and actually do enjoy some days. I like the location, I like the pay, I like the benefits, I love the hours....I HATE the people/organization. There is absolutely no accountability. When the success of what I do depends on 15 other people that aren't held accountable for doing their job in support of mine, it makes me look bad and I'm the one that gets held responsible, not the people that didn't do their job which keeps me from meeting a due date.
Ah, I see what you're getting at. Co-workers and goal of the business are equally as important. If they don't work with your goals then I can certainly understand the frustration.

Been using Jelly Belly pretty much exclusively. Pete has finally jumped on the wagon, but I hear there are some bugs. Just downloaded everything for JB 3.6, going to load it up shortly.

New (well not 100% new, just ICS designed) Calculator screen. Any suggestions / thoughts / opinions?

I've recently discovered that this is very true.

svt - I hear you man, and very similar to what I mentioned the other day was on my mind. Its the same throughout engineering now days it seems. It infuriates me that management refuses to allow anything but complete project completion and release to be my personal performance measurement, but I only have control to the point of getting it into the review process. Yes I understand I am responsible for liasing with my support group, and ensuring they are satisfied along the way, and for predicting the amount of time it will take in the review process, but even if I do ALL that, if even one support group member is dragging their feet, incompetant, or practicing office political B.S., at the end of the day, the missed deadline only affects MY performance score.
I love arguing science vs emotional decisions of other people. Current debate with a friend: Microwaves ovens are harmful and change the molecular structure of your food. LOL Please.
While I think it's highly likely to be true, that article is rather dated. I'm hoping Google will do the OTHER rumored thing and partner with multiple manufacturers for the next Nexus. Only problem is, they'll likely have to go the WP7 way and require them to have similar if not identical specs in order to provide timely and unanimous updates.

Only difference being the ergonomics/cosmetics? Kind of defeats the purpose...

Yes and no. They could release devices with a 5"+ screen and some with a 4". Some with keyboards (highly doubtful) and some without.
I agree that they should stick with one from the developer standpoint, but the fact that Google should reign in Android a bit more from the crap that OEMs and carriers throw on there would be a good thing.
I don't think we will see a new Nexus for several months. That being said, I could see 4 Nexus manufacturers easily:
Small Form Factor - 4" screen or smaller
Large Form Factor -think GNex or Galaxy Note
Tablet
Nexus Q
This would easily open it up to multiple manufacturers allowing them to differentiate and fill different marketspaces. I think the only thing they would have to agree on would be processor, gpu, and memory to support whatever the k version of Android will introduce.

Indeed, it's definitely dated, and it seems that the Digitimes source is just speculating. Still, figured it would be worth posting, haha.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too

Hey I admit to shopping at Wal-Mart now and then, but it cracks me up to see some of the funny photos of Wal-Mart shoppers (may be inappropriate for AF, I don't know). But THIS WM photo is perfectly clean and typifies the stereotype.
Hit up the local AT&T to check out the new phones, looked at the windows phones, they look pretty nice, but only one had a removable battery. Non had extra memory slots. The S3 looked pretty good, the camera reminded me of the Nexus (ugh....) the One X had a decent camera, was a bit laggy while scrolling. No removable battery or SD slot. 16gig of memory only. The Atrix HD looked nice, running 4.0.4. Locked bootloader. Came out empty handed.
Looks like I wait until the next round of phones come out. If the One X had expandable memory, I think I would jump on it. I think that thing can be hacked real good, think nexus.
