Oh, anyone using chrome? Is there a quick control dial like there was in the original browser? I miss having those controls

Odd problem I've had my nexus for 4 days... I've loved it so far... earlier my phone was at about 35% battery and I tried to wake it up and nothing... popped the battery out, put it back in and still nothing... plugged it into the charger and after a few minutes I get it to boot up... it says it has 0% battery, when I look at the battery graph it shows where it dropped from the 30s to 0... if this is going t be a regular occurance I may need to go back to my iPhone 4... I love the abilities of android, but if it won't work then what's the use :<( any help here ?

I am not sure what was running when it ran the battery out. Everything else on that screen looks normal, although the barometer app may have been trying to get a signal or your signal was not so great. However I notice the blue line just below the battery graph? That basically says that something was running...usually an app...that was keeping the phone from sleeping.
Also, keep in mind that your battery will need to settle over a few days, just let it run out and then charge it completely. Reboots help occasionally, and also try to find out what app is running all the time.
If you end up rooting the phone there are apps available to tell you more specifics, but for now, keep an eye on what apps show up on that screen. Also make sure that you are only syncing the apps and emails that you need at all times, such things as Facebook, twitter etc that may be struggling for a connection and wipe out your battery pretty quick.
Welcome to the party, hope your experience gets better, it is worth it!!

If this happens Apple will not stop until they go after any company that makes a cell phone or tablet that has any user interface(UI). I'm thinking Apple needs to be investigated for antitrust. Hell, Microsoft got in-trouble just because of Internet Explorer. But it is okay for Apple to try and stop anyone because they made something that is similar to theirs? When my ipod finally kicks the bucket I am done with anything Apple.
And the patent office needs to stop it with these frivolous patents. A scroll bar? Seriously?
I wonder if I can get a patent for any structure made of adobe, wood, metal, brick or cement and has some sort of passageway to get in or out?

Morning all! Great show last night
My Nexus, on the other hand, ugh. I don't know what I did to make her hate me, but yesterday was a bit of a pain. After switching over to TW recovery from CWM (which was a great decision btw) since CWM 6.0.0.4 completely screwed me over (check the stickies for more info), it's just gone downhill.
I flashed the JB bootloader, then JB 3.6 plus Gapps. Things went okay though it didn't restore any of my apps (yes, I still don't use TiBa). Then later on in the day I kept getting messages of my SIM not being inserted correctly and the phone would just shut down. Didn't have enough battery life left in it to mess last night so just charged it all night and still have no signal this morning.
Restoring an old nandroid and now getting a No Sim Card message! Guess I'll fiddle with that.
Edit: popped the SIM out and back in and seems to be all good now. I'll give 3.6 or whatever it's up to another shot later today.

Morning Dread, you might want to try Vicious 4.1.1 (JB 3.6 AOSP) Gapps are included and do not need to be flashed separately, Installed it on mine yesterday, flawless operation. Everything works! Has some interesting tweaks built in eg ability to boot into recovery from power button or simply reboot. I know easy to do by powering off and then back on either in recovery or not, but kinda cool to just do it with one touch.
Happy Birthday young Pup! Good Morning Everyone else, its Wednesday!

Morning all! Got my Nexus 7 in yesterday and it has definitely lived up to the billing so far. This is how a 7" tablet should be made. Feels great as far as weight, build quality, size, and the material they used on the back. The interface is very smooth and very quick.
It appears Google did some pre-loading for the play store orders. When mine started up, it had my e-mail address that I placed the order with already in it and just asked for my password. Downloaded the Transformers movie and saved a couple of magazines for offline reading. Also went ahead and got a trial subscription to GQ, if I don't cancel in a couple of weeks it's only $21 or so for a year. Haven't figured out how I'm going to spend my $25 Play Store credit. Probably rent a couple of movies for our trip.

Good morning all - hump day already, eh?
Had bowling last night and the Devil got me, shot a 666 series over 3 games. Finished with a 10-strike 268 which (as weird as it sounds) annoyed me. I shot 8-spare, then 9-miss. And then 10 perfect strikes in a row. If I made a small adjustment in the first two frames I could've easily shot 300 last night and it would've been my first one ever. Oh well there's always next week, but we did take over first place last night!
BTW anyone watch Big Brother? New season started last week. Definitely one of my favorite reality shows on TV right now, so many plot twists and surprises!
Happy Birthday to Evan too!

Pretty darn good bowling Stig. I'm lucky to hit 150, haha.
HAHA thanks guys. I've been bowling since 6 or 7ish so I've had a lot of practice. Highest game is a 279, highest series is a 747. Never been able to get that 300 - I've been close multiple times, but always one frame gets me.
In other news, AT&T announced their shared data plans... Any hopes of them forcing Verizon to cheapen up their plans, dashed. In fact AT&T's data costs are higher! (But per line charges are less for smartphones if you buy more than 4GB data bucket)

You might not know it at first glance, but Kickstarter is home to more than just 23,000 different iPhone cases and the Pebble E Ink smart watch. The popular crowd-funding site has kickstarted dozens of awesome projects, but sifting through the less appealing efforts to find the cream of the crop isn’t always easy. Enter Outgrow.me, a new site with the sole purpose of weeding the junk out of Kickstarter and Indiegogo so that people can browse only successful projects that are available for preorder or purchase now. Users can sort items by category, and there is also an option to view only products that are currently available for purchase. From an iPad stylus with pinpoint accuracy and sleek desktop jelly fish tanks to customizable 3-string guitars and zero-waste batteries, Outgrow.me makes it beyond easy to see — and spend money on — the best that Kickstarter and Indiegogo have to offer.
Thank you for saving me from my own stupidity by telling me what device I can use, how I can use it, and when and where I can use it. Thanks for that freedom to chose. Oh wait....
Evening everyone!
We had some rain here earlier but nothing now. Might get some storms later.
Loaded up my N7 and she's a beaut.
Will work on it tonight or tomorrow to get it unlocked and rooted. Watched a clip from Transformers and it was silky smooth. My boss was quite impressed.

Ditto. Seeing a storm from my plane seat was awesome.
Back to me.
I had to help him a lot with that, he knew what he wanted to say, but the patience of a 5 year old is very tenuous. He enjoyed all of your birthday wishes and I did as well. Again, thank you all.

I agree thunderstorms are awesome to look at from the sky, but trust me, you don't want to fly through one.
I've had to deviate (no off color remarks from you BB) hundreds of miles off course to avoid flying through red stuff on the radar like Stigy posted.

Just woke up!
Just finished unlocking and rooting my N7.
Gosh, that took all of, um 10min. Easiest one yet.
Morning everyone. Hope you all lived through the storms yesterday.
Edit: well looks like I spoke too soon. Now I'm stuck in CWM and can't reboot. Everytime I try to select something it just goes to the CW symbol and doesn't do anything. Ugh.
2nd Edit: I'm a moron...... It's friggin TOUCH recovery.
3rd Edit: Well it booted up fine, but I don't have root.

Got it all settled. First time I chose SuperSU over super user. Perhaps that was the problem. Did it one more time and chose SU, and it worked.
Honestly, it is really easy.

Morning all!!!
Running JellyBelly v3.7 and loving it!!!
Only lost 2% battery overnight in 6hrs, with emails and missed calls....but with give it a day to settle.
Getting packed up today to go camping with kids again this weekend. Funny how much we were worried that the kids would be bored camping...and how they cannot stop asking when we would be going again!!! Looking forward to it!
Hope everyone has a great day!!
Morning all! Got to play around with my Nexus 7 a little more yesterday. I can't wait to get Jelly Bean on my Nexus. Probably going to flash it this weekend. The new voice search system is incredible. The voice engine is so much better than it used to be as well. Google is starting to put a lot of work into this.
Pup, you still haven't gotten yours?? When did you order and what version did you get?
See if you can get to this radar loop. This is one reason I love living in the south in the summer. However, the underlying cause (heat and humidity) is what I hate about summers in the south, haha.
We were apparently right in the middle of several storms, literally within a couple of miles on either side. We got nothing except light rain but you could see the heavy rain and lightning on both sides of us.

Have fun ryan. Are you tenting it? My family loves camping, but we are taking this year off. This is our rig.

I ordered on 7/5. I got an 8GB for Evan and a 16GB for me. Looks like the funds have been removed from my account, but no transaction. Hopefully I'll hear today and be able to play with it this weekend.

Good morning all - happy Friday eve!
My kitty has an ear infection - I feel so bad for him. We have to bathe him with special shampoo and give him medicine. We also have to wash all our sheets just in case it ends up being something like Ringworm we don't want to get it ourselves. He seems to be a bit calmer this morning so hopefully this passes, but I just feel bad for him. Just a teeny kitten, but he will be getting a friend next Wednesday so I am sure he is excited about that.
My dad ordered a Nexus from eBay because he wanted ICS/JB and didn't like his Bionic anymore. Gotta help with with rooting because he said it won't take, but he got the bootloader unlocked so one step down. My dad had the G1 before I did so we are the Android gurus of the family - such nerds.

Morning all! Have fun camping Ryan! Our family goes to an RV park in Lake George NY every year. Its princess camping. ........trailer has AC/heat, shower, microwave and the campground has wifi, full hookups for water and electric and sewer. Plus showers that are really nice. Pools and 2 little movie screening rooms. Yeah, BB doesn't do camping in the traditional sense.
