Good Morning all! Battling a bug of some kind, my throat is sore and cruddy, love it .
Gotta agree with jmar, this group is very tight-knit for a forum community, extending into RL. You are all a second family to me

Dread - I heard about that on the radio this morning, tragic. I hope the individual responsible gets what is coming to them.

In other news: Apple eBook price-fixing lawsuit: Senator Chuck Schumer defends Apple

Really? Why is he including consumers here:

Quote:
...consumers are at the mercy of a single retailer that controls 90% of the market and can set rock-bottom prices, we will all suffer,”
Pretty sure consumers don't suffer because of rock-bottom prices. And why is a US Senator interfering with a DOJ investigation?

Sorry to hear that Anti. Go drink some OJ! I've been waking up the past several mornings stopped up and cruddy but by mid day I've usually turned around and I'm fine.

So, question for you with the Nexus 7. I posted this in that watering hole, but I know some of you in here have one and frequent this thread more often.

I downloaded SuperSU and Clockwork and pushed them through adb to the Nexus 7. I issued the reboot recovery command through adb and that worked. Then when I issued the oem fastboot unlock command it just kept saying waiting. I tried it twice but got the same result both times. I know I'm probably missing something. I went through the unlock/root process with my Gnex and had no problems.

Razor, loved that video but I feel like a 7" really has the advantage solely because of its smaller size. And, knowing that a small fall that our Tab 10.1 took onto wood flooring shattered it's screen tells me it's all about how it lands that determines the damage.

Oh, also, anything I need to know before flashing JellyBean bootloader, Jelly Belly 3.7, and gapps?

Reset Google Wallet if you have it, Make a nandroid, factory reset and DON'T battery pull while on the splash screen. It takes forever sometimes. Just wait it out. Good luck!

Hope you feel better Anti, sounds like something I came down with on father's day. Lasted about a week, but the first few days were the worst.

And yeah, we are a few lost souls brought together by a common interest only to find we have far more in common than we thought.

I'll try and get a solution for you, but it will be untested as I still don't have my flippin device.

Are you talking about your GNex? If so, I am interested as well. If I don't have my N7 then my GNex is getting a makeover this weekend.

Morning all...and I have to agree...awesome group here, feel honored to be a part of it!!
BB...pm coming your way at some point today..
Cap'n...I gotta tell ya, for someone out of practice for gifting to a 5yr old, seems like the age old adage: once you learn to ride a bike, you never forget!! Evan certainly made out on the deal, a prize packet worthy of any 5yr old or 35yr old!!!

Speaking of bikes, leaving for camping in about 6hrs, I have to work a half day this morning, and my 5yr old has been SO excited to go camping again! This time when asked if she wanted to take her bike or her scooter, since her 11yr old brother and myself are taking bikes, she asked for her bike....and then asked when we would take off the training wheels!! Woo hoo for growing kids!

Also I am sporting JellyBelly 3.8 plus 7/18gapps and 5 inverted mods and the notification toggles app....so far a stable build for me, but will be checking battery today again on stock kernal. I know everyone has a different experience with different ROMs, but this one likes my Nexy!!

Hope everyone has a great TGIF for those that have a Friday...and to everyone: Have a safe weekend. I will try to check in, but signal is shoddy out at the lake, and will post a few pics next week!

Good morning all - TGIF!

Crazy what happened in Colorado. For those on Reddit, the front page has an AskReddit (blocked at work) of someone that was at the theater that the shooting took place at. A pretty crazy read, but my thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected by this. What an absolutely horrible thing to do.

Has anyone used the Nexus toolkit to root their device? My dad is having some problems rooting his Nexus and I couldn't get to the bottom of it last night. Seems like a drivers issue, but its hard to diagnose when I am not in front of the PC. If someone has, can you take a look at the thread below to see if you have any ideas? Need Help with GNex Toolkit - xda-developers

Thanks!

Quick enough. 30 minutes and I'm up and running completely set up the way I like it on Jelly Bean. Couldn't get Nova Launcher to run without crashing, that set me back 15 minutes or so because I couldn't restore my home screens.

Well, I will have two N7's to set up this weekend, so looks like JB on the GNex will have to wait.

Ok, so about this Google Now stuff. How can I change my home and work locations? GPS doesn't work in a tin building so it thinks I'm at work somewhere like 5 miles away across the river :S

I get to play with 9-patch images tonight to try and style my TabWidget for my application.

HoloLight action bar (stock), white tab text and ICS blue TabWidget and it's quite more complicated than it sounds. Excited though.

You have any experience with them?

It seems its the only way to customize a tab widget background and its current tab indicator.

Any advice? Tips/tricks?

I just created an email account for Evan so he can get his $25 play credit too. Turns out you only get it once per account. Oh well, factory reset on his coming up.

There's a 9-patch tutorial somewhere. Can't remember where it is. If you follow that you should be good. I had to make a 9-patch with the background on my app. Speaking of which, you were right, I updated to JellyBelly 3.8 and my app no longer shows up. Must have a max sdk version on it.

Hey peeps.

Anybody want to test a navbar mod on JB for me?

It's just a basic blue Zenyth keys in 24dpi or 36dpi. I couldn't stand the giant 48dpi buttons anymore, so I just decided to mod it myself.

It works flawlessly on Droidth3ory's Axiom Antimyth rom, based on 4.1.1., but I would like to know if it works on Jelly Belly or any other 4.1.1 rom.

Here is the 24dpi:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/9hsd0s2r27znzyw/navbar24.zip

Here is the 36dpi:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/uzmjpvwdr0cz949/navbar36.zip

Just wipe cache and dalvik, and flash.

Although like I said, I haven't tested it on anything other than what I'm using, but it should work. Still, nandroid is a good idea.

Any feedback is appreciated.

Scary day here in Colorado today, as you have read in the links. Freaked me out as I have work mates / friends that live in the area and actually go to that theater. Luckly non was there at the time (as far as I could tell). Though another co worker had friends there. No other news from that. Sad about those who where though.

What the hell is wrong with people? This world? Damn depressing

I'm not happy with my JB 3.8 battery life so I'm going to wipe and do a fresh install in the morning and will try your mod then.

Scary day its an understatement. Came up to the city do we could watch Dark Knight IMAX 3D tomorrow and my wife is a little freaked out about the situation. To me, although tragic, it's like an airplane accident. No matter how horrific it is, the odds of it happening to you are astronomical.

Same here. I'm going to redo it after work tonight, maybe, or tomorrow.

Evening all! Ok, so tonight I was researching some business' on my laptop, the next time I picked up my phone, it had the cards for travel time to each business I had looked at on my computer. Not sure if I love it or I am creeped by it.....

Haha, Pocky!! You're awesome, Cap'n.

Yeah, that's true - even the most well-built electronics can still bust if dropped the right way.

Phone started rebooting over and over on 3.8. I think I'll be redoing it now.

And apparently there is 3.9, but it is a rick roll on the boot animation. <-----I guess a little joke by Jake.
