Ok got my Nexus 7 unlocked and rooted. Took me long enough. Had a few problems but worked through them and got it done.

I noticed my Gnex has rebooted at least once on JB 3.8. Going to watch for that in the coming days. Don't want it rebooting on me on our trip.

Have a good weekend everyone!

Default A sincere thank you...

I wasn't sure where to post this and I thought this place was as good as any.

A few days ago I considered finally taking the plunge and rooting. After a conversation with The_Chief and hearing how passionate he was about the procedure along with his assurance, I gave it a shot. Of course, the first time around doesn't often go smoothly (hardy har har) and I couldn't have asked for a better crew of folks to help me out. From VoidedSaint, to shaddyyy, to jova33, to iowabowtech, to Desertbum, to iDon't, and of course The_Chief, I was able to not only get this done, but learn a lot along the way too. This forum proves to me time and time again that kindness is not dead and there are great folks out there. A giant thank you again and you have my word that if I can get half as knowledgeable as you all, I'll share what I know too someday with some rookie.

P. S.
A huge thanks to Chief for putting up with my countless PMs... I've been a part time job these last couple of days.

Oh, yeah... Jelly Bean is AWESOME!!!

Hmmm. If trying to read a book while you are half asleep is bad, trying reading about quantum mechanics = fricasseed brains?

The book is called The Quantum Universe (and why anything that can happen, does). Pretty good book, I love how they take the time to explain the math to you instead of just throwing out the formulas to you like many of the other books do.

It works flawlessly on Droidth3ory's Axiom Antimyth rom, based on 4.1.1., but I would like to know if it works on Jelly Belly or any other 4.1.1 rom.

Here is the 24dpi:

Here is the 36dpi:

Just wipe cache and dalvik, and flash.

Although like I said, I haven't tested it on anything other than what I'm using, but it should work. Still, nandroid is a good idea.

Any feedback is appreciated.
Using the 24dpi on jb3.8 and it rocks!

Morning everyone!
Finally getting some work done and set up my N7. It really is a beautiful tablet and I'm still shocked at how cheap it is.

Just looked it up. Looks delicious! I love southern food even though it's very meat heavy. Loves me some basic comfort staples.
Have a great time!

Looks good! Probably too interesting for my wife though She's pretty picky. In fact, there is not one entree on the Olde Pink House menu that she would eat without some sort of substitution.

Going to see Batman today at 1pm. I woke up this morning to find out that my parents are now married 40 years. Wow. I made it to 3 and that's it. LOL. Not sure if i'm going to reflash 3.8? I turned it off last night and let it sit a bit then turned it back on and it has yet to go into a reboot loop. Also hoping the battery is better today. If not I might go back to 3.4?

Yeah, actually I wasn't thrilled with the menu myself, but thought I'd give it a shot. Wife LOVED the bone marrow. I thought it was fine.
Can't stand picky eaters. I wish you luck.

Glad to have you back! Have you looked into getting a N7? It really is an awesome little tablet, and that price can't be beat.

I've looked at them and have thought about it but right now I can't justify it. I have my Nexus and my iPad and without a job I would rather save money to see DSB again. I figure I'll get the N7 eventually though. I am living vicariously through all of you.

Yeah, I'm fortunate to justify the price/addiction.
But, seeing those loved ones (is he one of those yet?) is certainly more important.

Seriously? SERIOUSLY!?!?
They're both amazing. Dark Knight was the first (and basically only) Blu-ray I bought to test out my new system. It's an awesome movie. Just waiting another couple weeks before we see Rises as I'm sure all the theaters are going to be gang busters, and I hate sitting in with crowds.

Let's not even start on Blu Ray.....don't own that either. But yeah - haven't seen any of the batman movies. I figure it'll be in the theaters for a while so I can get the videos and watch then go see the movie.

Ya know, the wife is likely going to be at work for much of the night. I think I'll order some delivery and pop in Dark Knight and enjoy the night.
And, by the way....GO SEE THOSE MOVIES!!!

Well, I'm bored so I'll just talk to myself here.
Just another reason why I'm glad to have a Nexus:
TELUS was not at fault, HTC canceled the Desire HD Android 4.0 update
Can't believe what HTC is writing there.

Just doing some more messing with my N7 now. Used the bulk of my Play Store credit on a years' subscription to Bon Appetit. Can't seem to get AirDroid working on it. I've never used the app before but thought I'd try it out. Each time I try to log in on the PC, it tells me it's the wrong passcode. Anyone have any experience with this app?

Treb, you should have let me know! We could have met for tea or something at the exclusive and and-so-upscale-for-this-town restaurant - Waffle House - on your way through! Maybe on the flipside we can meet up.

Darling Bride is loving the S3. Well, she despises it LESS than her OG Droid

Still doesn't surf the web or do much with it other than calls and texts. I'm TRYING to teach her. It's a process...

I did put Gone With The Wind on it (her favorite movie of all time) and she thought that was clever. Of course, she NEEDS a BT headset just like mine for it now. Putting it on her birthday list.

Enjoy the wedding but don't drink much at the reception and try to drive: cops around here are sometimes not the most pleasant people to deal with.

I am sorta here to. Did a 6 hour hike today across the peaks of the Black Mountains, Mt Mitchell, Mt Craig, Big Tom, Cattail and Potato Knob. A lot of up and down, mud and slippery rocks. The forest service put some ropes up in the most difficult places so at least you could pull yourself up with them. Left here before 8 this morning, hit home around 4. My legs feel wobbly.Made dinner and now we are going down to the campground to hear some friends band jam. I'll check in later!

Thought about trying to meet up my friend, but this is a very short trip. Wedding tonight & then aquarium in the morning ( my daughter can't wait ). I have to be back home in Memphis by 7pm so just wouldn't have time. Next time amigo, turn the humidity down over here in Signal Mountain, TN for me next time. Outdoor wedding & I'm sweeting bullets !!

I had major problems on 3.7.
I'm sticking with 2.0 for now as it's working just fine. Waiting for AOKP to pick up the source and build off that.

I'm still having issues with my data connection. At this point I am ready to just give up. I may try to flash a new base band but I doubt that will work.

I think a Verizon s3 is going to be the nexus part two. I am starting to think the network just sucks in my area.

Hello everyone!

I'm a new Galaxy Nexus user, recently switched from VM to T-Mobile with the GSM model of the phone.

I've been searching on the internet for ages, and I can't seem to find a GSM-specific TPU or other case type that's of good quality, as most cases are made for the LTE version, and thus do not fit on the GSM variant properly. I was wondering if anyone had come across or owns a GSM-specific GNex case, and if so, which brand/model?

Many thanks,
Xerp

Finished a blank album at my scrapbooking weekend and now I have nothing planned as another project. No one in my group of friends or family is getting married or having babies for me to make another one.

Well, that just leaves one answer... The Official Watering Hole Scrapbook.

Hmmmm - I'd love to have a pic of each person with their real name next to a
pic of their screen name and avatar.
