Morning everyone!
Looks to be a quiet weekend in here so far. Hope you all are enjoying some summertime fun.
I thought I wouldn't fall in the hole of the N7 vs Gnex debate, but my Gnex really does look tiny now.

Probably a dumb question, but does anyone here know if the N7 has a notification led and if so, can Light Flow control it.

Finally got internet back and got my N7 unlocked, rooted, and all my stuff loaded. Really sucked yesterday having a shiny new toy with nothing loaded on it and no Internet.

^ VERY dumb question.
No, I don't believe it does. There are some apps out there that flash the whole screen for notifications. They were developed when the first SGS1s came out for the US and none of them had notification lights (damn you Samsung). Never used them, but I know there's a few. Doesn't help much, but you can always rely on sound notifications.

Hmmmm.... not a problem on this end, but:

What if - IF - you were to create an ONLINE Watering Hole Scrapbook? Something's that's password-protected so that only WE can get into it? That way we can all see your handiwork... and possibly have a copy printed out for our own memories?

I can look into this and see what the options would be.

Good morning all! Last night's dinner was awesome, I had the crispy scored flounder, with grits and collards. Wife had filet w twice baked potato and mixed green beans (told you she would sub something dread ) I also had the BLT salad with fried green tomatoes and it was sooo good. If you ever find yourself in Savannah, visit the Olde Pink House. You won't be disappointed!

Alright well busy day today. I might check in later this afternoon.

Ditto. Wife and I saw it in IMAX yesterday. Wasn't 3D, but still breath taking.

Waiting for some good N7 reviews from you guys. I wasn't really thinking about it until I saw the price. It would be nice to leave the computer at home for my trips.

What Chief said. I'd go for that if it was accessible only to us "close personal friends" of BB in the GNWH. Not sure if I want my mugshot floating around the general 'net. I'm one of the remaining few on the planet without a FB account.

And we DO have scrapbookable (is that a word?) "real life" events in the GNWH - lots o' birthdays, Ryan's upcoming wedding, kids getting karate belts, graduations, blooming long-distance romance , anniversaries, a whole lotta "that's what she said's," Chief kicking a kid out of the house (JK) etc.

Just in case ANYONE'S still interested, Jelly Belly 3.9 drops TONIGHT!

This is the last in the series of initial AOSP builds. The 4.x series will be "proper" AOSP builds per dev ( don't ask me what that means ).

Get your flashers warmed up!

Thanks Chief, I guess I was really asking if this is the initial aosp and 4.x is the final aosp, what does that mean? I guess I thought aosp was final when released. Vicious already calls there's 4.1.1, does that make it a proper aosp build? I think I am confused.

No, Copacetic, the entire Google AOSP is currently at Android 4.1.1. So that's what everyone's on.

As I said, I'm not sure what Jay is doing with the "initial AOSP" builds in the 3.x series, unless he's just fixing things as they break from the 3.0 build.

He's promising to rebuild the ROM basically from AOSP scratch for the 4.x series. But then, it's a race between devs to do just that.

Trust me, as much as I love Jelly Belly, it's a gap-filler for me until AOKP is matured to its former ICS glory. I SO miss the customizations! Jake has promised to keep Jelly Belly as close to stock as possible... something I'm not that keen on sticking with for the long haul.

Changed my other mind and back on jb3.8 waiting for 3.9. Think I'll let Aokp jb mature a bit.

Morning everyone!
I think I'm honestly going to sit tight on where I am until AOKP is in full 4.1 release. With all the new builds, I'm not seeing much for enhancements in terms of tweaks (correct me if I'm wrong). But, the alpha CM10 build for the N7 looks intriguing.

Edit: Dangit Chief! I just had to go read how awesome Xenon was (I'll trust anything Jbdan writes) and now I'm downloading.

After that one hiccup, 3.8 has worked flawlessly for me. And in a nice surprise I have gotten 4G at my desk most of the morning. Pretty sure it is some atmospheric fluke, but I won't complain. Happy Monday everyone!

Alright, looks like the download I just did was an ICS ROM? WTH?
Looks like I think the 5/20 download. Woops. Time to start over.

Morning everyone - hope your weekend was nice and relaxing! Went down to Englishtown yesterday for a nice car show, saw some friends and just a nice relaxing day. Also had some chili with ground kangaroo meat in it. I know they're cute and adorable and I always have that hesitant moment before I buy it, but there is this amazing wild game place near my apartment and they sell such delicious meat.

My dad got his Galaxy Nexus from eBay this weekend - he couldn't stand not having ICS/JB on his Bionic so he bought a Nexus after me telling him how much I love mine. We got JB 3.8 running on his phone and so far he loves it. Hoping the battery life is good enough to get him through the day, but I am sure he will ping me for some help.

I might wait until JB3.9 flashes to flash the newest version. I am still on 3.5 or 3.6 I think so if 3.9 is gonna drop soon gonna hang around and not flash 3.8, but we shall see.

Yawn - definitely a case of the Mondays.

Been running JellyBelly 3.8 for several days now and have found absolutely nothing that would make me flash anything different until I see a few builds of AOKP. The 3rd party wireless tether apps don't work, but that's due to the app and not the ROM. The on-board works flawlessly. Google is headed in the right direction with Android with Jelly Bean. I'm amazed at the improvements made over ICS and it was just released less than a year ago! I feel like Google has finally nailed down the functionality they want out of the OS and are starting to make performance and useability improvements more of a priority.

Good morning, peeps. I hope you all had a great weekend. We were going to watch the new Batman movie last night but my wife is still pretty broken up about what happened in Colorado and wasn't feeling it. Truth be told, I think that during the shoot-out scene 20 minutes into the movie, I'd be thinking more "This is when all that crazy #@$@ happened", and I probably wouldn't have been able to concentrate on the movie either.

But some friends saw it last night and loved it. Told me to watch Batman Begins first, and then the new one, so that's what I'll do.

We are catching up on "Falling Skies", though, just started the series, and it's great! Love Noah Wyle not looking like some preadolescent Doogie Howser, lol

Alright, restoring everything on Xenon now that I flashed the RIGHT ROM.
Looking good so far. Digging the notification toggles.

Bugless Jellybeen 4.1.1

Was running fine since I flashed it last week, but yesterday was a full day after I flashed new radios (first part of graph - first battery) the phone sat overnight while I slept. I woke up to a dead phone.

I did charge the battery using the external charger. Come to think about it, I don't think this was a full charge, but still, that is a strait dump of the battery.

Default New Radios

Did you notice any difference in your radios?

ajdroids

I'm suspecting it's regional. Im in Lakewood, West side of Denver, and I still get "one way audio", even afteer rooting and going to AOKP. It usually happens about 20 minutes into a call. I can hear you, you can't hear me. I have switched mute on/off, speakerphone, bluetooth, nothing yet.

Happened a lot on OEM software, now about 2-3x a week.

Not much software can do for the radio issue. I think all the software does is contain an algorithm for detecting signal and switches the radio based on that. This is just a poorly designed radio and antenna system.

I did make one phone call while at work after flashing the radio from inside and the call did sound okay, better then usual. But, the radios still tend to switch and cycle like they normally do.

Well, Penn State got out lighter than I expected. For a program that had put football on such a pedestal that they allowed a child molestor to continue in his actions for a decade, I really thought they deserved worse. I thought banning them from football for a year or two would be appropriate. They really needed something to knock football off of this god-like status that it had become there. The penalties they got are severe, but it doesn't do anything to keep them from playing football and being competitive.

For those that don't know, Penn State was hit with a $60 Million fine, 4 year post season ban, single year loss of 10 scholarships (Division 1 teams have 88), loss of 20 scholarships over the next 4 years, and they will vacate all wins from 98-2011. That last one is more of a slap on the wrist to and a way to keep Paterno out of the record books.

In 87 SMU had to cancel their entire schedule for the year and due to the fall out from that (players leaving) they didn't have enough to field a team the next year, so they sat that out too. In addition to that, they had similar scholarship (probably more severe) restrictions for 4 years. Don't think they had quite the monetary fine that Penn State received, but for an institution like that, $60 Million will hurt, but not kill them.

I've been saying that for a long time. My only gripe with Moto is the locked bootloader.

I think is was because it didn't affect competitive issues with the football program (ineligible players, recruiting violations, etc.) so the hit is more monetary (fines) & prestige (vacating wins, no bowl appearances). Also, the 4 year Bowl ban will dissuade many incoming freshman from joining (probably to the benefit of other Ivy League schools) as they have no chance of playing in a "big game."

Well I'm glad Paterno got his record wins erased. On the surface, you might feel bad for the innocent athletes who won't have scholarship opportunities, but in reality, it's another win. Let the good athletes go somewhere else where they can get a scholarship.

I, too, agree that they should have had football killed for a few years or 10. But oh well. No amount of sanctions will rid those kids (now young men) of the horrible memories and trauma.

I really hope that Sandusky gets put into general population.

Yeah, let's not act like any sanctions will ever EVER make up for what happened. I just feel like football had become something Penn Staters worshiped, and in order to break that mentality, they should have killed it a year or two. Oh well. The good athletes that want to go somewhere else have plenty of choices. I don't really feel that sorry for them. It's not really fair to them, but they aren't going to suffer. Plenty of D1 schools, and lower divisions if they so choose, will start picking up the players that want to leave PSU.

And yes, Han, I too hope Sandusky gets thrown to the wolves.

Well, I attempted to re-root my former Gnex, which is now my daughter's Gnex, last night. It did not go as smoothly as when I rooted it originally and I ended up flashing back to stock because I didn't have time to mess with it. I might take another crack at it later, but I can't figure out what was different this time than the two previous times I had rooted.

On another note, I'm enjoying the GSIII, even unrooted. It's performed flawlessly so far (knock on wood), and battery life has been excellent. I do miss the customization of AOKP and Liquid, but I guess I can survive...I'll just live vicariously through the rest of you.
