Nobody around in the s3 watering hole so I thought is pop my head round here
Welcome to our corner of crazy.
It's usually dead this time of the morning besides Anti and myself. We're the early risers I guess. I miss all the action later on while I'm at work.

Well I'm in work now as its nearly 11 here but I'm kinda on a break ha
So I know there are a few other hurricane followers in here, will be interesting tracking the next two storms, Isaac and Joyce, as my son's name is Isaac, and my wife's aunt is named Joyce, so keeping it in the family Also both these storms could pose threats to the US, so if you are in the SE, keep an eye on them.
Brilliant still wating for ICS though but otherwise its great
What? You're still on HC? Horrible, the first Galaxy Tab 10.1 just got ICS a week or so ago. I hope it breathes fresh air into your Xoom when you finally get it.
Device(s): VZW Galaxy Nexus - rooted - ROM is JBSourcery - the best ROM I've ever used

Morning all!! I see we have a few new faces to our little corner of the watering hole. Hi guys!!!!
I shut my alarm off this morning. Thankfully, my daughter just has to be dropped off, no need for me to get out of the car.
However just wanted to vent for a freaking min...
I came out of jury duty at lunch to find out that the company I work for (and my fiancee does too) is moving our jobs to Austin, TX by the end of the year.
Great.....peachy...perfect....oye.
And oh yeah, out of our 10 or so friends that we have at work...we are the only ones. Oh and our jobs are being moved in with a call center. Wtf??? Our jobs have absolutely nothing to do with a call center!!! Wtf???? Will we have any upward mobility in a freaking call center...NO!! We have moved through 2 other jobs before this one....aaaarrrrggggghhh
Okay, thanks for letting me vent!!!

Yet another thing we have in common. When hurricanes start forming, I become obsessed with the weather channel. One of the worst hurricanes of all time shares my name, Andrew

Thanks Anti, getting ready to head back to the NC coast from our summer on the mountains. I am watching them both, love Sea Storm and Hurricane Tracker apps.

So I tried out Sourcery rom this morning... Mind = Blown. But in a major disappointment, while I had been getting consistent 4G at my desk with Jelly Belly, was getting a whole lot of nothing, so I am restoring my nandroid.

Morning all....sorry to hear the Sorcery did not work as well for you Anti, I too noticed a drop in signal and also in battery, went back to jelly belly myself this morning....will try again when I am back at work next week after jury duty.
So had a long talk with the missus last night...and she has a meeting with HR today...will see how it turns out, before I do the same....turns out the final date could be as far as Dec 31 of this year. Interesting to note what I mentioned before, our department being moved to a call center...just weird and not practical on that end, but maybe more practical for the bigger picture on this end???? Don't know yet, but it is one of my questions.....
Hope everyone has a good Hump Day!!!

Morning friends.
Hello to all the new faces.
Ryan: sorry to hear about your job situation.
Razor: nice RSS.
Apollo: Jelly Bean is crazy good. Android is at its best in Jelly Bean. But I would say that if you are on Gingerbread, CyanogenMod is still beast mode.
Gotta run, baby just woke up! Sheesh. It's only 647a!

It's great if you are coming from ICS, it is unbelievable if you are coming from ginberbread.
I'll agree to that whole-heartedly. JB is so much more of an improvement even from ICS and ICS was leaps and bounds ahead of GB. I think JB has finally put Android where it needs to be. Very solid OS and will compete very strongly with iOS.
Stigy - Nice pic! Cool to see the progress on the new Trade Center tower. Wife and I plan on coming back to NYC after completion.

Morning, still stock. Nothing wrong with JB, so no need to flash anything. Funny, buy a Nexus for the ease of flashing roms, but because they are updated (non VZW anyway) to the latest Android quickly, the need to flash is diminished.

Flashed AOKP B1 and Codename 3.3.1. I don't know if it was AOKP or Faux kernel (most I have talked to think it was the kernel..I'd probably agree) but one of those killed my battery overnight from a full charge. Codename has been excellent though. Been off the charger for 18 hours now. 2 hours and 33 minutes of screen on time. Still at 64% battery. I anticipate 5+ hours of screen on time with this. Most of that screen on time was streaming a movie through Netflix as well. Really, the only reason for flashing a ROM on mine was in hopes that I could change backlight levels, go to circle mod battery, and add a 4th softkey for search and voice search on long press.

For quick voice search I just swipe up from the home key (loading Google now) and say google and whatever I am searching for unless I am missing something.

I just like the option of being able to press and hold something and have it pop up. Seems more natural to me than swipe up and say google To each their own
