I am back! Looks like we are getting close to that time of year again. Is there a NEW epic Nexus rumour thread like last year!? Also how terrible was the iPhone event. This coming from someone who has 3 years iPhone experience and only 10 months Android! God I love my Nexus!
Even Apple's own front page reeks of their own "creativeness". iPhone 5: The biggest thing to happen to iPhone since iPhone.
LOL
That was the most underwhelming Apple event, possibly ever. The biggest innovation they laid out was in antenna technology and honestly has little to do with why people buy a smartphone. It's great that they are constantly improving in that area, Samsung needs to take a page out of that book, but even with all the latest stuff, they still lag behind specs of Android phones and the Android OS.
Edit: I just can't help it: 4-inch Retina Display. It's not just bigger. It's just right
Apple is really good at selling their products, but the thing they are best at selling: BS.

Actually quite fine. I ate a sandwich right after I had it done and am starving right now waiting for dinner to be done. I know I have a pretty high tolerance for pain, but I really expected much more from this. Maybe I just got lucky, but I have really had no pain yet, either before the root canal or after.
Device(s): VZW Galaxy Nexus - rooted - ROM is JBSourcery - the best ROM I've ever used

good Morning all, Pup I hope your pain does not flare up today. I read somewhere that the stock browser on JB is Chrome....anyone have any thoughts on this?
Also for you Sourcery users, When I use my wired headset, the sound comes through both the speaker and the headset. Am I missing a setting somewhere? This just started with 2.2. However, if I use my Motorola SD 10 (bluetooth) it works as it should.

Thanks, so far so good pain wise. I actually have come to like having Chrome as the stock browser on my N7. Took a little getting used to, but it works fine.

Good morning everyone!
Can't believe how early Fedex came this morning - 8:33AM and my package has been delivered. I can't wait to go home after work and get it, but now that's all I am going to be thinking about at work. I wish I would have worked from home today, boooo!
Morning everyone. Pretty bad start of the day. Got my grade for my last Master's class, was a B. First of all a B in a Master's course is like a C in undergrad, and second, my company reimburses 100% for As, and 80% for Bs. Since this class plus book cost $3700, it means I am out $740. There is some hope that the professor lost one of my HWs (I talked to the grader, and she never saw that assignment from me), if this is true, I hopefully will be able to redo the assignment (or just get it omitted from consideration, since it wasn't my fault he lost it) and get it bumped to an A. Just really don't have the extra cash, and had been working extra hard to make sure I got all As and this didn't happen.

Eek hope that all gets fixed - that's pretty unfair if they lost one of your assignments. Had that happen a few times in school and 99% of the time the professor was willing to look past it and change my grade accordingly.

Yeah, I'm not worried, he's a very nice teacher. Although I would hope he would have let me know if I was missing it, before submitting my grade to the school.
Hey all, a coworker of mine is planning on switching from Android for the iPhone 5. He's got an HTC phone that runs ICS (either the Evo 3D or the Evo 4G LTE) but is unhappy with the performance and battery life. I promised him that I would write out a list of reasons why he should stay with Android, was curious to see if you all would like to help!

Depends on the coworker. Is iOS a better fit for him. Any reasons I could give would be why Android is better for me.

He's not what you would call a techie; he says he uses his phone mostly for email, Facebook, and web browsing. I doubt he would root any subsequent phone he'd get. I was planning on basing my reasoning mostly on the screen size difference; the deficiencies of iOS in email attachments, navigation, and voice search; lack of NFC, wireless charging capability, and notification LED. I honestly do think that Android is the best platform for him; as an attorney, he needs to be able to attach items to emails besides photos, and as a sports fan, I would think he'd want a larger screen if he chooses to watch sports events.
I was also going to make sure to tell him that HTC makes weaker phones (no offense to EarlyMon and other HTC users) and to try a Samsung model like the S3.

Looks like you have a pretty good list already. Maybe hit him up with some lost phone / security / remote wipe apps to protect any confidential info on his phone should it become lost or stolen. Though probably available on both platforms, you could get a "Wow, I didn't think of that" reaction that could keep him in the fold.
